Sisters, It was so great to be back dancing with you. The love and support we give each other is amazing and so special and really rare. To share dance with women who totally embrace sisterhood is fantastic and I so need it!

Class change

As of right now classes will be held at the Belly Expressions Dance Studio not at the Athletic Club. I will be sending you the directions. There will be a accident weiver for you to sign and I will have that for the first class on June 2nd. No street shoes on the new floor so please leave them at the door. And no going through the house. We are very fortunate to have such wonderful dance sisters to share a dance space together thank you very much Belly Expressions.

Car accident

I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you guys sooner. On the 19th I was driving down patterson with a friend of mine. At 29 rd we were stopped at a red light and I got hit by a car going 35 mph, she hit me so hard she sent me into the car in front of me. So it was a 3 car pile up and my car got sandwiched. They never called an ambulance to the scene because all of the cars were drivable(at the time) but my friend and I both instantly had major neck pains. SO I drove to the ER and we spent the next 7 hours there, they did every xray known to man and we were in neck braces the whole time. So basically the shorter version is for the last 12 days I have been in a neck brace in bed because I couldnt move and they have me on some pretty strong pain killers and muscle relaxers. I have a severe cervial (c-spine) sprain. and Friday I go to a specialist to see if they need to do a MRI. SoI'm sorry I have not told you guys sooner but my days have been a blur and I have not been able to get up and around until today. I'm still in a brace and still have alot of pain. I'm so so so so so sad I can't dance for about 2 more weeks. My husband was talking to me about this and I cried. I wanted to go this weekend so back. Nicole, I was passed out when you called me and its pretty pointless for me to talk on the phone because no one can understand me due to the brace. I also start physical therapy this week and they tell me that if I stick with it then I should be able to dance again in 2 weeks.

Good luck and I miss dancing so bad!!! But I will be back in 2 weeks...keep your fingers crossed!!!!

Elevation was sooo much fun. The performances were amazing. And I must say mom, I am so proud of you. You rocked the White Stripes like a pro! We recieved so many compliments on the dance and music, so see you had nothing to worry about!

Miss you sisters

Sisters,

It is driving me crazy not to be able to dance with you! It is bad enough to be laid up with severe Achilles Tendon strain and be on crutches for who knows how long, but it really bites not to see you all every week and explore our fusion world together. And since i use my right foot on my foot controlled sewing machine, I can't even use my extra time to sew! Whine, whine, whine. I have a doc appointment on Tuesday and am going to have him check my hoof. It was hurting me worse yesterday than it did when I first injured it.

Love and hugs and I know you are practicing hard for Elevation. It slays me that I won't be there but in spirit.

Ok my brain has been going crazy with chorography lately. I need to write it down before it goes to waste. I can't be mean and make the girls learn 12 new dances all at once, hehe. Meaning of "Namaste"

Namasté: A Sanskrit word meaning The Light of God in Me recognizes and honors The Light of God in You and in that recognition is our Oneness.

Came across this and one could insert "goddess" or whatever floats your spiritual boat, in place of "god". Anyway, my New Year's resolution is to live this word.

Holiday Hafla with some groovy chicks

Last night's hafla with our Belly Expressions sisters was great! Very relaxed. Very cool to share our mutual love of dance and our different dance styles. I very much look forward to a collaboration with them. Tribal dance sisters and cabaret dance sisters can learn alot from each other and I enjoyed the ease with which UnYalla comes together with our other dance sisters.
