I have decided that for a way of organizating this tribe is to put really general subjects of discussion for people to elaborate on. This will be for tribe recommendations.

Thu, February 1, 2007 - 11:58 PMWhat's a good name for gray matter in the yin\yang scheme? -

Re: Tribe
Fri, February 2, 2007 - 3:07 PMWell, grey matter is dark and in charge of processing (passive) while white matter is lighter and in charge of transmission (active) so I would assume grey matter to be yin. -

Re: Tribe
Sat, February 3, 2007 - 10:11 AMI was thinking that it might be easier to try and start the system of symbology would be to start at a bigger point and work down first. Tarot is the largest system of symbology that I know of does anyone know anything larger?
I really want to start with Hexagrams for some reason. I think it might be because I haven't really studied it as much as I would like. -

Re: Tribe
Sat, February 3, 2007 - 12:59 PMleonardo, tarot is pretty big as a system, but is right about equal and around tree of life,
which might actually be bigger, and, also, i ching, which is almost certainly actually bigger if
you count the esoteric stuff they have written on the subject.

Sat, February 3, 2007 - 2:10 PMI don't know the I-ching that well. I think that's what I ment when I said hexagram. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Tribe
Sun, February 4, 2007 - 4:37 PMright. hmm.
i ching is based on trigrams which are then coded into hexagrams which then stand for
potentially everything you can think of including DNA, RNA, atomic valence structures,
chemistry, biochemistry, binary code, hexadecimal, .....
any set of multiple dualities.
I ching is a larger system because those hexagrams are formally corresponded to more things,
including plants, animals, organs of the body, subtle anatomy, and the forces of nature more specifically.
Tarot is a very large system, but its not got much living remaining documentation.
I ching is well rooted in thousands of texts.
