Okay.. I'm just saying I happened to be watching G4 tv today.... well.. I was on the internet really when my roommate noticed "extra action" on the televison... I rewound the DVR and sure enough... for a good second you can see a couple of brass instruments... one of them with "* EXTRA * ACTION" prominently displayed on the front. They were showing bits of footage from around the maker faire. I'm just sayin...

Oh.. and what a wonderfull appearance on french television you all made...

internet station RADIO C

found a really cool Hungarian radio station called "Radio C" that you can connect with over the internet. just Google "Radio C" and look for the link with Hungarian spelling (ie. not a clue as to what the words are saying). This station has Euro/ Romani/ World/ and even House music on it and supposedly talk shows on Romani affairs, though I have not heard the talk shows and wouldn't understand them probably anyway. The music so far is incredibly soulful and most of you should know the connection between Romani music and EAMB by now. If not, just ask....... ;-)

who are uninhibited in expressing themselves through their bodies.
Men are strongly encouraged! We are also looking for people who can
communicate well, are solid in their commitments, and enjoy working in

please support sansa from yard dogs!!!

as most of you already know sansa had a accident last weekend .
she broke 2 of her vertebrae C5 and C6 in the base of her neck and broke the disk in between the 2 vertebrae that pushed against her spinal cord. she had surgery to replace the disks and had minor damage to her spinal cord. the surgery went well and sansa is on her way to a full recovery. thats an understatement... sansa is blessed, the angles are smiling down on her. she's in good spirits and soaking up all the healing thoughts and prayers from her loved ones.

Sansa should be getting out of the hospital in 2 days. her parents are with her and will stay with her in tell she is able to fly back to California. she is still having lots of pain and trouble with her arms and hands. we have all the reason to believe she will heal completely with love, support and physical therapy. the best thing you could do is send out your love and healing thoughts for sansa.

Kinetic Steam Works will host dynamic demonstrations of steam power with a collection of repurposed vintage equipment driving interactive sculptures just days before their appearance at the Coachella festival in the Palm Springs desert.
An Auxiliary boiler, assorted mill engines, and a 1920 Case traction engine are the force behind a collection of awe-inspiring and personally engaging sculptures including a hand fabricated working carousel by Jamie Vaida, brass instruments plumbed with falling water and rising steam by Stephen Rademaker, a towering 22’ tall fire and waterfall by Orion Fredrick, and a live performance by spygirl and Sean Orlando. “The Dingus Smashing Show” uses a 1920’s ironworker to crush anything placed between its gears, a gross example of juvenile delinquency at it’s most entertaining.
The Pre Coachella Steam-up happens Saturday, April 21st at NIMBY warehouse, 1649 28th street Oakland.

2007 HAIGHT STREET FAIR / NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!!

Well, here the Haight Street Fair is in 2007 with a small minority of squeky wheels making some noise about our fair.

In Pablo's passing a two year old group has increased their demands on us. Some folks from the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council (H.A.N.C.) have heard gossip of their intentions of either trying to take over the fair or force us under their control.

Members of the Haight Street Fair Board have sat in a few meetings with HAIA, CVIA HANC (the real group that represents the neighborhood, without having to say it) and a couple of other groups that are out of the haight village or have one member Impovement Group status.

Supivisor Ross, District 5; has hosted a few meetings for us. He has been helpful in trying to create some fair ground for everyone. With all of his efforts we are still in conflict with a group that does not act in good faith towards us.

In one meeting that Ross called in city hall a member of the HAIA, Michael O'Connor (Whom is a third owner of the nightclub, THE INDEPENDENT; on Divisidaro St) spoke out strongly against the Haight Street Fair. Thanks Michael O'Conner!

We went into our ISCOTT hearing last Thursday and the president Mr. Lee put a hold on our street closure permit hearing for two weeks.

Please spread this information out!

The attack on street fairs is an increase of killing SF culture.............I love my urban city very much............and do take seriously that WE here in SF are in the middle of a culture war right now.

Brad and the How Weird Street Fair got their permits after being rejected. But with huge new demands, their time was cut from 8pm to 6pm, and Brad cannot have his fair there in 2008!

first show was january 27 2004@ Van Kleef's in Oakland.
It was quite a production inluding the queen's concert,
tea party trio, suitcase puppet show of walrus & carpenter
and the jabberwock monstermasks. twas a mad evening
of fun.
the next was a one man show for an intimate audience
of close friends.
it's third year running was the mad tea party with a book
& c.d. to accompany.
the 4th year is set to be in co-operation with
the lucid dream lounge.
this is the culmination of a lifetimes connection to
the writings of Lewis Caroll,
here was my original Idea :I'ts a glam rock opera,
Spacey sci-fi, I like ziggy style, and kabuki japanese
cats, bunraku, noh theatre. this is a description of
a young lewis caroll, in some fanciful asian opium den,
being served and having the hallucination that he
watered down to create alice's adventures in
wonderland. focusing on the bestiary of "Jabberwok"
, the white rabbit, the tea party, and a god-like
presence of the cheshire (cat).
seeking performers, puppet craft, and hosts for
this would bee epic of psychedelic performance art.
follow thee white rabbit...
the set so far
red queen (an original)
white rabbit(+new verses)
the walrus & the carpenter (to music)
I am the walrus (mutant version)
the humpty dump (mix of humpty dance with parts
of eggman & the original poem)
jabberwocky(grunge version)
to all tomorrows parties
the inverse set also features some surprizes from
the collective of songwriters (the likes of the hobo gobbelins,
sourmash hug band & accordion plague)

AT THE START OF THE SHOW:
white rabbit makes an appearance & then takes us
"through the rabbit hole". when we hit the bottom
a red queen appears: I'm bored to tears with the likes
of you! I declare that there shall be a concert to
amuse me & my royal court."
at this point a page begins calling forth the appointed
acts,
***still looking for quick cabaret style performances
(2-3 songs) which can work with a wonderland style

when it comes time for the hatter to sing,
he does so off key & tempo, so badly that the
queen shouts: "stop him! he's murdering time!!!"
and a guard roughly ejects the hatter from the "stage".
perhaps a bit of mumbling as the court complains
of the hatter's ruination of the concert.
focus shifts to the tea party set.
mad hatter: Oh bugger! they've broken my watch!
march hare: let me see that watch hatter.
(smears it with a thick layer of butter)
that should do the trick.
hatter: (shakes watch & listens) nope, it's still broken
now, we'll be stuck in tea time forever.
dormouse: play us a song hatter, to help us pass the time
hatter plays white rabbit....
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall

Okay.. I've been waiting patiently for this show... but did some looking around and now am slightly confused. I notice the show listed on the 18th on the EA websites.. but on the SF Eagle website, http://www.sfeagle.com/Tnl05.06.html it shows the show on the 25th? I just don't wanna show up on the wrong night ya know. Can someone clarify?

Okay Racers, it's that time again.

Congratulations on having the good taste to once more subject
yourselves to personal injury, potential humilation, public intoxication and severe
sunburn.

Oh yeah and the drive to succeed and be the best racer you can be all
that yadda yadda.

You are receiving this because YOU are one of the LUCKY FEW who will be
racing at the Power Tool Drag Races This Sunday, May 7th. Yes, it really is
this sunday, yes, this sunday is the 7th, I'll give you a minute to check
your calendars. . .

Okay, we good? Excellent.

Here are a few thing you need to know (pay attention, our options have
changed):

BECAUSE we have gotten such a stunning turnout for the races this year,
and BECAUSE due to extreme laziness on the part of the organizers we're
only having one day of racing, We would ask ALL BUILDERS to be ON SITE at

9:30am

Yes my friends you read me right, racers muct be AT THE JUNKYARD AT

9:30am.

If you don't have at least a representative group of your team there
with the machines, you will definitely make the baby Jesus cry, and worse, send
Bill the Junkman into an awful sulk.

This is so we can at least make a feeble attempt to get through all the
races. It'll be close and we'll probably end in the dark, but wonder of
wonders, we'll have light for a change, plus someone somewhere will probably find something to burn.

Ideally, we will begin racing a little after ten am, so we'll be
underway by the time we have an audience at noonish, maybe earlier. YES, the track will be set
up and good to go. Thanks Charlie and his crew for that, yay Charlie.

"But Gal Friday!" you say "How'm I supposed to get in from Sacramento
in time for 9am?" Well my frends, we can certainly make arrangement sof some
kind. I have couches. Let us know if it's a huge issue and we can work
something out so's you get there with time to spare, Glory Hallelujah.

Nom there will be no formal TV there this year. We are lean, mean, punk
rock and Sponsored by Delicious Delicious Lagunitas Beer so make sure to
intoxicate yourself well before operating your machinery.

Our Race Offical this year is once more Dave "Judge Dave" Calkins, who
will also be on the big PA telling you when to get your collective kiesters to
the starting line/staging area (did I mention we will in all likelihood
have a formal staging area? Thank Don for that. Yay Don.). He will be also
running the ladders and maintaining the all-important illusion of
professionalism. He can be bought with Pepperidge Farm and offers of massage.

John Hell and Hal Robins round out our announcing roster this year,
with a few potential alternates to sub in. If you know any hardcore gearheads of the female persuasion who can rock the mike, send 'em our way.

We will have pit tables and more electricity than you can shake a
capacitor at.

We will have pit bosses to show you where to go with what.

If you know someone who is fully planning on competing and they are not
on this list, TELL THEM TO REGISTER. Seriously, this is your main source of
information, the email you supply through the registration page. Send
'em to the website (http://www.buildersdb.com), it takes five minutes and will
result in Simone failing to have her traditional moments of despair under the
counter in the junkyard office. This means less yelling for *YOU!*. We love
that when that happens.

So, direct any questions you nearly invariably have to me, Simone, and
I will send em along to the right person. Should you wish to do some
preemptive abuse of the judges, please contact Dave. Should you wish to whine about the earliness of the hour, please contact Charlie. All abuse can be
directed to me, where I shall keep a careful note of your needs and then
immediately forget to bring that particular clipboard on the day.

Thanks a ton, remind me of all the things I forgot. See you at the
races!

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY It's RACING RACING RACING!!!

Miss Mary Jane had a BAD crash in testing yesterday. I bent the frame and the front (Tires?). So I had to change it from 4WD to just 2WD but she still runs pretty good. I might have to stop by the Box Shop on Friday morning or so to grind a little and run a bead or two and change a gear ratio for a new motor I just installed. Hopefully someone will be there....

I comming down early on Friday to help you guys out with the track and whatever.

Matt and I mounted some new Gocart RACING tires on the Funny Car The (MATT DAWG EXSPRESS) on Saturday.

Of course we had to break them in and wear off the (high spots). HE HE...

So we strapped it to my (Toyota truck with (it's tires) chocked up real good) and did a 6 minute burn out.

Boy, the New tires get real gummy when hot and they plastered the tailgate of my Truck with Super Gooey Black Chunks of Melted Rubber Happiness.

Of course, I'm not going to clean it off and Stuff.

It kinda looks like a Rabbit had a problem with (exsplosive diarrhea)

Poor little Bunny..... ;)

Will there be Extra Action... At the Power Tool Drag Races in May?

Team K.I.S.S has joined forces with Team Plumb Crazy. Yes boys and Girls Two multiple championship winning robotic combat teams are working together building for The Power Tool Drag Races. www.powertooldragraces.com/

There aint much college Learning here .But we do have Redneck roots. Heck I even cleaned out some of the racing stuff from my storage shed out behind my single wide trailer...

I'm working with Matt and Wendy Maxham my (Good Buddys) from Sacramento.

Matt will Be the Pilot (Victum) of "The Matt Dawg Exspress" a Beautiful, (well sorta pretty)
Dinosaur Juice powered Ride-on Machine.

Lovingly hand crafted by Matt and I (Jeese I hope the dang thing stops)

Wendy will be running a 4WD modified Racer and I will also be running another 2WD modified racer.

Of course Team S.L.A.M (My Dad will also be there) with some mighty fast racers as well.

Sunday May 7th Is My Parents 45th wedding aniversary. I'm not sure if My Mom will go, But I could think of no better way to celibrate 4.5 Decades of marrige Than Racing a Hot Tool and stuff..

I hope the band can make it they put on a excellent show......

the first time I saw extra action was...

in 1999 @ burning man & I was hooked. I knew I had to get up in that. so I spent the next year plotting. part of which was mardi gras 2000 when I proposed. I left my home in georgia, heading for the frisco bay. joined up, not in time for B-man 2k but just in time for my first show with them at d-com 2k, and now, 5 years later, I missed the hell out of my krewe out in the desert, a few were out to work on la contessa (it was great to have her back), & tommy was out with yard dogs (always a pleasure) but it's not the same with out the band rocking the black rock city, maybe next year will be the year when they beg us to come back with a fan of tickets in each hand (pipe dream?). I'm playing the d-com this year as !1manBanjo! but I wish I was doing it with extra action. Oh well, at least we're doing "in the streets" & the download fest. I love this krewe, sometimes you drive me crazy but you're right next to my heart. Good job, extra action, I'm proud of you!
