2009 Bellydancers of Las Vegas Calendar!!

I am proud to announce the 2009 Bellydancers of Las Vegas Calendar project!!

The 2008 Desert Dancers Calendar done by Glenn Brogan and Amira was such a good idea, and so useful to me for promoting myself, that I was really sad to not see it happen again in 2009. So, I decided to do something about it!! It is a fantastic way for those of us performing in Las Vegas to put ourselves out there in the greater community. I have tried to work out the major stumbling blocks that last years calendar presented, and I have a workable plan that I hope to see benefit us all! The 2009 Bellydancers of Las Vegas calendar will be an 11” x 8.5” glossy finish work of art, full of Las Vegas talent!

CALENDAR IS OPEN TO:
~Any Bellydance soloists, troupes or duets -traditional, fusion or otherwise- that wish to advertise themselves, and who perform in and around the Vegas valley. If you’d like to be featured as one of the months in 2009, please read on! Submissions will be accepted beginning on July 25th and will be open until August 15th.

BENEFITS:
~Give to agencies, your website will be listed just below your photo!
~Give as gifts to employers, family, students, etc.
~If the calendar doesn’t happen, you will receive a full refund!
~Receive enough calendars to sell that you can more than recover your investment costs!
~Discounts on additional calendars.
~Calendar participants will receive a special gift , TBA

THE IMPORTANT DETAILS!!! FAQ’s:
~Q: Is participation in the 2009 Bellydancers of Las Vegas Calendar free, or do I have to purchase my month?
A: Participants will be purchasing their months individually. This calendar is intended to be an advertising investment for those who perform Bellydance in and around Las Vegas. Purchase prices for each month of the calendar were kept as low as possible and participants will be reimbursed with enough calendars to sell to recover their costs. The cost is the same for everybody, whether they are purchasing as a troupe or individually.
~Q: How do I submit my application & photos?
A: Write to britt@brittshimmy.com and request an application.
~Q: When can I submit my application?
A: There are 2 submission periods. The discounted pre-registration period is from July 25th-July 31st. The second, full priced registration period is from August 1st-August 15th. No applications will be accepted after August 15th.
~Q: How do I purchase the calendar cover?
A: Anyone who is interested is able to apply to purchase the cover in addition to their month however, only one person, or group, will be able to purchase the cover, the final decision will be announced after August 15th. Calendar photo and cover photo will be the same photo.
~Q: Who chooses the photos?
A: Up to 4 photos of your own choosing may be submitted with your application, with only one high quality, high resolution, professional photo for each month being chosen by the design team for the final product. Preferably, the photos are new and not more than 6 months old. They may be outdoor or studio shots, your choice.
~Q: How do I find a good photographer?
A: Locally, we have Glenn Brogan who is completely familiar with the calendar format, and also an absolutely wonderful photographer! Glenn can be found at: www.beyondpairadice.com
In addition to Glenn, I would recommend Pixie at www.pixievisionproductions.com and Andy Humphries www.andyhumphriesphotography.com both out of L.A., but worth the trip!
