ALL DAY Prop Intensive - July 11th 2009 @ Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts in the Engineered Air Theater (205 8th Avenue S.E.)
Light and Motion is an all Day Prop Intensive to deepen your understanding and skill in the many forms of prop manipulation and the art of working fire. You do not need to be a seasoned prop addict to attend, we are equally interested in introducing people to some cool new toys as we are in inspiring seasoned professionals. All you need is a growing love of the hoop, spinning, juggling or fire and a desire to take a break from the chaos of life, meet some like-minded people, and enrich the sense of wonder and direction in your life.
Why Is This Special?
This unique event is catered to multi-prop artists and as such it is your opportunity to connect with like-minded entertainers and hobbyists. The day doesn't just include specialized workshops taught by some of Canada's most experienced prop-addicts and performers, it also includes a evening cabaret, where your instructors will show you what they've got, and a late night dance party to let loose and play with your new skills.
We have made every effort to create the perfect breeding ground for community and self discovery. Come play with us.
Workshops: Morning Yoga, Poi and Flag Spinning (Jeff Olynek), Staff Spinning (Sandra Safire Sommerville), Fire Logistics and Safety (Sandra and Carisa), Diabolo (Peter Van Thiel), Contact Juggling (Tyler Doucette), Juggling, Contact Dance (Jesse Quan), Time Management and Personal Motivation Lecture (Sandra and Carisa), Belly-dancing (Nancy Bromley), Hoop Dancing (Sandra Safire Sommerville), How To Slide-Show: Glass Walking & Fire Eating (Carisa Hendrix)
Tickets: $65 for ALL day! This includes all workshops, evening cabaret, late night dance party. There will also be a marketplace for vendors! You can pick up tickets online from the website above.
