Aside from being delighted to be able to read some fresh Paglia once a month, I'm discovering a delicious irony in the amount of hate mail her columns have thus far inspired. Reading some of those letters is a face to face introduction to many of the very things Camille's been railing against for years. Namely the emotional and intellectual immaturity of the American left, its myopic worldview, its militant refusal to consider the credibility of anything outside of its own thought vacumn. It's amusing to read those letters, but also a little sad. Paglia has been absloutely right to blame the conservative takeover of American politics on the failure of the left to relate to the average working class population.
