so, i bought the liquor and mixers for the dyke cocktail party, totaling $184.53. i opted out of providing beer on the menu as well to make sure i have enough cash to make it to the playa. we bought the largest size available of tequila, vodka, gin and rum, with smaller sizes of cherry brandy and harlequin, plus about a dozen different types of juice mixers, so depending on how many ladies show up (and how much they can drink in 3 hours) beaverton may be set on alcohol for the rest of the week...if not, at least there will be a lot of drunk, happy women running around our camp tuesday night.
i'm writing cause i've never bought a massive amount of anything on behalf of a group before, and am not sure how to go about seeking partial reimbursement. the party was my idea, so i'm willing to pay a quarter of the cost, but as much as i'd love to just have this be my gift to beaverton this year, i really can't afford to foot the whole bill to intoxicate all these beautiful ladies...as is i'll be pulling into the playa on fumes. i'm not sure if there's any money left from beaverton fundraising... even if there is, seems like the easiest option (rather than paypal or something) would be for everyone camping with beaverton to just chip in 10 or 20 bucks (depending on how many of us there are this year). i'm having to play the role of bill-collector here, which isn't nearly as much fun as party-mistress... so can we make it easy and say that i'll bring the receipts if everyone could bring a little cash to help me not eat the whole cost of the party?
also, while i have your attention, i'm in the process of thinking up party activities. how do people feel about naked twister?

Re: money stuffs for party supplies
Sun, August 17, 2008 - 5:09 PMHi Laura,
Thanks for letting us know. I think it's great to let ladies know that you've shelled out the cash and relying on their support to help defray costs.
Sadly, after purchasing the shade-structure and solar lights- I am completely out of the money I raised (and had to dig into my own pockets, too).
I've been asking beavers to help out by bringing an extra bottle of liquor to donate, but if you'd rather they pitch in a fiver or something, then that's fine with me.

Re: money stuffs for party supplies
Sun, August 17, 2008 - 6:50 PMthat would be great... it looks like we've got 14 beavers on the list so far, and just like jess last year i'm sure more will show up monday wanting to camp with us....if ten people pitched in $10 that's over half the cost right there, and close enough! -

Re: money stuffs for party supplies
Mon, August 18, 2008 - 5:06 PMWe bought two HUGE bottles of Sake and all the stuff I need to make sake punch for the party. That and buying the food to feed all of FC on Monday has got me pretty tapped (until I get reimbursed for the food). I'm figuring on buying a couple of bags of ice for the party, too.
