A newer product, this "shelf milk" — an organic product that does not require refrigeration for storage — is available locally and over a broad range of retail grocers.

check out the FAQ.
Poached from another tribe, the folks at Backcountry Gourmet.
Shelf milk has been around for a long time (thanks to irradiated pasteurization), but it continues to get better.
Now, if only we had a source for "shelf" ice cream (with a special tab that — once pulled — creates a freezer-fresh product).

Re: Organic shelf milk
Sun, November 18, 2007 - 7:02 PMIs this really any different from milk I had while in Turkey? It was boxed milk that didn't require any refrigeration until opened, and I was told that it could keep up to six months. -
