Organic shelf milk

A newer product, this "shelf milk" — an organic product that does not require refrigeration for storage — is available locally and over a broad range of retail grocers.

check out the FAQ.

Poached from another tribe, the folks at Backcountry Gourmet.

Shelf milk has been around for a long time (thanks to irradiated pasteurization), but it continues to get better.

Now, if only we had a source for "shelf" ice cream (with a special tab that — once pulled — creates a freezer-fresh product).

According to the refrigeration thread, adding ammonium nitrate powder will chill it short-term...

it's funny moving to the middle of farmland in France, it's every where, including goat milk, sheep milk full milk or half cream all in jugs on the shelves, but sometimes getting just a bottle fresh milk is harder.
