Wow, so I guess you all are hitting the road in less than 2 weeks!! Crazy!
I know in years past you've always been eager to get back to SD/SF for school/work. But I just wanted to let you know about a really awesome "after party" that NEXxuS is throwing at the Grand Sierra Resort:
california.tribe.net/event/2...af9291b3
We went last year for their first event there and let me tell you, the hotel is AMAZING! The "suites", which are at a great price, are huge and have great ammenities. Our's last year had a flat screen TV in the room AND one in the all black marble bathroom!!! Super shwanky. And it fully becomes INVADED by burners by Labor Day. Its awesome. Check out the youtube video on the link, its very much like the actual experience :)
And even if you don't want to come to the "parties" its still a great hotel to consider just to chill out for a day or two before returning to reality. Plus I'll get to see you all! (Along with Cerrithwen, Michael, and Aaron!)
Tell your friends! And I hope some of you can make it!

Re: AfterBurn??
Tue, August 12, 2008 - 3:28 PMI second Rachel's enthusiasm! I didn't go last year, but I am super excited to be attending this year. If you enter the code SMRFUN-3 when you book a room, you'll receive a huge discount. Standard rooms are only $39 with the code and the Suites are $70. Hit me up for the official promotional email from the Grand Sierra (apparently, you may need a copy of the email when you check in.)

Thu, August 14, 2008 - 2:09 AMThis party always sounds like lots of fun but would be better if it was a day earlier. When does it start? Some of my camp mates and I already have rooms booked at the Grand Sierra for Sunday, then we're hitting the road to San Diego on Monday morn. Will the party be starting by Sunday? -

Thu, August 14, 2008 - 8:56 AMThe pool party starts on Monday. Michael & I originally planned to drive to Reno on Sunday, but our plans have changed & now we won't arrive until mid-day on Monday. I'm bummed we'll miss you, Ryan. :(

Re: AfterBurn??
Thu, August 14, 2008 - 3:04 PMNICE! Aaron and I will be staying there Sunday as well!! Driving up a day early to have a day of "vacation" before all the dirty burners arrive. Looks like you stinky hippies will be there already though!! There's no escaping you damn "burners". Ugh...
Hehe.
The hotel is really nice! Did you get a regular room or a suite??
You should consider staying an extra day.....for once!!! Can't you get back a day later? Its a really fun time at the pool! -

Re: AfterBurn??
Thu, August 14, 2008 - 6:04 PMI think the majorit-ay of Mad Flava is leavin' the playa post-burn on Saturday night, chillin' in the hotel-de-Stephen's-mama in Reno on Saturday and Sunday night (which is supa nice, and FREE!), and driving back to the whale's va-jay-jay on Monday...
If there are peeps around Reno on Sunday, we'll be showered, cracked out and ready to decompress...maybe we'll swing by the hotel and say hallo to everyone...
We'll miss you all who aren't going...I'll ingest a few pounds of dust for ya...
But I was pretty excited to hear that only 27K tickets were sold, and in combo with the fact that the playa was expanded for 2008, I think it's actually going to be awesome. Definitely a different vibe since so many people aren't going...and plus, last year for Deep End - giddy up!
