Hey y'all!!

I just sent an email out to the folks who are planning on camping with Mad Flava - Mitch, can you PM me your and your girlfriend's email addresses? I had Stephen forward you the email I just sent...). I know that many of the people in this tribe are not going, or are undecided, but I wanted to post the email I sent anway to get a lil fire under ye butts in the case the stars re-align and you want to come! I think getting the ball rolling on some planning would be good, especially since it seems our camp will be smaller, so there may be a bit more responsibility per person to get the camp set-up.

Hi Mad Flavians!

Since Tribe has taken a major dump (or maybe it's only me that keeps getting kicked off), it's probably going to best to communicate Camp Mad Flava news via email feed, and also because a few of us aren't on Tribe in the first place! :) (Tim and Maia - you're probably asking, "what's Tribe?" - it's a Facebook/MySpace-like website where you can have a profile, etc, and be a part of various "tribes" - some of which are Burning Man-related)...

Anyhoo, the reason I'm sending out this email is to get a better idea regarding who's camping officially with Camp Mad Flava. I realize it's only the middle/end of June, but you know the drill - August will creep right up and suddenly there is the SCRAMBLE to get everything done...I already feel like there isn't enough time to plan everything. And since Mad Flava seems like it will be a smaller camp, each person might be responsible for a little bit more than last year, so it's best to divvy up tasks early to allow for prep (geez I sound like my mother...)

SOOOO, if you could hit reply and confirm your status (YES/NO/MAYBE), then we can get the ball rolling on such fun tasks such as:

Camp Dinners - We'll be doing the same thing as in 2007, where 2 people (or 1 person depending on our numbers) will cook for the whole camp for one night's dinner (Sunday-Friday only - both Saturdays we're on our own, and breakfast/lunch are on own). Last year it worked GREAT, and all the food was delish. This year we'll have half vegetarians/vegans and half omnivores. Stephen and I will probably cook all veggie meals, to streamline things. But if there is a NEED FOR MEAT (hehe), that can also be arranged...bacon anyone?

Kitchen/Camp Supplies - Last year, everyone pooled their resources on constructing and supplying the kitchen with the important stuff other than food :). We will do the same this year, and I've already put a list together that I will send out in a future email (soon).

Camp Duties - We'll also need people to be responsible for constructing the greywater evaporation pond, a camp shower, etc...

Transportation (for the SD folks) - As of right now, Stephen and I are going to rent a 15-person van and remove all but one seat (same as last year), and Tim will be coming with us. I believe that Maia and Brian would be coming in a Westfalia van. Ryan, if you are the only other one to come with from SD, we can figure something out, or would you consider driving your car? We should discuss.

Okedoke, there you have it. Just let me know what your plans are, and we'll get the ball moving with more planning...We may move this forum back to Tribe if it ever starts to work properly...
