Re: Gemini
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 6:42 PMi think the maniacal energy of Gemini excites/allures water signs ......
cancer is usually a very intense moody and emotional water sign ...... said to go like "peanut butter and jam" with a scorpio ... i've had numerous Cancer gf's and it's been good ..for awhile ....

Thu, April 10, 2008 - 7:10 PM"i think the maniacal energy of Gemini excites/allures water signs"
My dad's never really had a 'maniacal energy' though lol.. it might be because of his Cancer Moon.

Re: Gemini
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 7:07 PMWell my dad's a Gemini Sun, Cancer Moon and my mom's a Cancer sun and they've been happily married for over 25 years. So in that case a Gemini with a Cancer worked out great :)
And I'm a Pisces Sun, Gemini Moon, and I get along great with Cancers.. of course it's more likely my Pisces Sun that helps to make the instant connection and attraction to Cancers though. -

Re: Gemini
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 11:31 PMSome astrologers have expressed the idea that signs right next to each other in the zodiac wheel tend to have a certain affinity with each other by, if nothing else, proximity.
Ive known, personally and indirectly, a number of water sun signs with gemini moons. Which would seem to create a certain additional empathy at least for such people? Im one of them too, with gemini moon. Often focus on cancerian "moon" energy though, as I like it too.
Do not know off hand any other rationale astrologically speaking. -

Re: Gemini
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 11:40 PMIt does seem like people with the same Moon sign are drawn to each other in some way. My Cancer friend (who I've done posts about before lol) is a Cancer Sun, Gemini Moon.. and I think that because we have the same Moon sign, we feel a deeper connection on another level. -

I would definitely say this is true, or at least has been for me. I get along with Gemini's really, really well, and have had at least one really, really good Leo friend, so for me it's definitely panned out.
As far as moon signs, I feel like I've read before that if having the same moon sign as your partners sun sign makes you very compatible, or at least a moon sign that is compatible with their sun sign. I guess the idea there is that your emotional sign will relate well with their "external appearance" sign, and therefore know how to deal with it innately. -

I think I've heard that. But I've also read before that people who have the same moon sign or moon signs that are compatible with each other usually get along together well too. Like in the case of my friend and I who both have Gemini moons, we communicate together really well. We seem to be on the same wavelength. I'm sure the fact that I'm a Pisces Sun and he's a Cancer Sun has something to do with it as well.. but I think our Gemini moons help us to communicate even better. Plus I recently heard that a Gemini Moon with a Water sign Sun helps to make a person creative and artistic a lot of times, and both of us are artists. So it makes us feel like we have even more in common :) -

Re: Gemini
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 12:58 AMYeah, I can totally see how having the same moon sign as someone would put you on the same wavelength as them, I just wonder if that would make for good love juju or not, you know? Like, I know sometimes couples with the same sun sign don't necessarily work out so well (or at least, in my experience cancer-cancer), even though both people are totally attuned to the other. I don't know how this pans out for moon signs though....
Besides, in my experience I've found that Gemini's are unbelievably good communicators anyway, sometimes too much so, as in sometimes they can weave a semantic web around the truth that doesn't necessarily jive with how I may perceive the situation. This is just my experience, but based on that you and your friend who both have moons in Gemini may also have really good communication cause that's just how Gemini's are. I don't know, it might be a moon sign affinity like you say.

Re: Gemini
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 12:55 AMYeah, lobster. Thats it. A tricked out lobster.
Jav - are you referring to the ascendents sign as an "external appearance" sign? Or the sun sign? Ascendent from most of what ive heard and read is usually what is considered symbolic of ones appearance. Both in terms of physical stature and outward relationship to the external world.
With the sun tending to symbolize the more central point of equilibrium, as it does in solar manifestation being the gravitational center of all other planets. Which is a much deeper energy or quality of influence than external appearance alone.
But then again, ultimately we are free to view and rearrange our energies and perspectives for ourselves however we like. So whatever works for each of us it perfect for us. -

Re: Gemini
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 1:00 AMHey Aaron! Um, I feel like I've heard before that sun sign is related to how we present ourselves to the world, moon sign related to our deeper emotional being, and ascendant related to who we truly are inside, like our cosmic persona if you will. But I could have that all backwards. Does that jive with what you know about this or no?

Fri, April 11, 2008 - 12:13 PM"Some astrologers have expressed the idea that signs right next to each other in the zodiac wheel tend to have a certain affinity with each other by, if nothing else, proximity." it's called "semi-sextile" "laughs"
Yep, except for Pisces and Aries. Pisces is like the ghost of Christmas past to Aries-the cool breeze from the underworld breathing over their shoulder, reminding them of Death.

Re: Gemini
Fri, April 11, 2008 - 10:38 AMWhat Ive heard from most other astrologers and read, Jav, has been the reverse of what you mentioned. The ascendent being more the external appearance even to the point of physical stature and how people first perceive one. Whereas the sun is the more "core" aspect of ones astrologically describable energy which reveals itself at deeper layers.
Yet however one finds satisfaction perceiving for ourselves is valid in my feeling. Its our life to do with as we choose.
In response to your question however, I did create a new posting in this tribe related to a perspective, according to one author at least, on the Sun and the four elements.
It is here -
tribes.tribe.net/cancersco...5ec5e34f6f
If anyone has other descriptions of anything astrological, perhaps we can share them in that posting thread? Create that posting into a thread on different, and similar, astrological interpretations of sun, moon, ascendant, other planets, elements, etc..
So if you find anything related to that you feel like sharing, feel free to share it in that thread. Unless you want to create a separate thread for it or some aspect of the interpretations you want to share. -

Re: Gemini
Sat, April 12, 2008 - 5:27 AMIn Linda Goodmans book she says that a sign has something to learn from the sign after it, Gemini learns from Cancer, Cancer from Leo, etc
All the Geminis l know l have an easy time with, but it does not imbibe the unspoken emotional depth that l have with other water signs, especially Scorpios.
l am cancer with a Gemini moon,

That is funny :) Well it's kind of like me with not meeting any Scorpios that I know of haha :D At least not in person.. besides my little 6 yr old Scorpio cousin, but he doesn't count lol. I've met quite a few Cancers though :) And there's a lot of Cancers in my family too. -

Re: Gemini
Thu, May 22, 2008 - 11:49 AMIt seems this thread has run it's course but, I started thinking about the topic. My wife is a Gemini. Which got me to thinking about others in my life. Yes you got it. There were 2 Cancers that I was close with too. As you do, I seem to attract them. I wonder why? I'm Pisces by the way. I will do a little research and see if I can come up with an explanation. Very interesting... -
-
Re: Gemini
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 6:46 AMMike, do you mean you wonder why you seem to attract Cancers, or did you mean Geminis?
Cancers and Pisces (and also Scorpios) are usually naturally attracted to each other (whether for friendship or romantically) because they're both water signs and are both sensitive and emotional and can understand each other well. If you mean you're wondering why you attract Geminis, maybe you also have a lot of air in your chart? Or maybe even the opposite, maybe you're lacking air and it helps to balance you. I'm not sure though, that's just my own guess.
Personally what I've noticed about myself is that I'm mostly attracted to other people who have a lot of water and air in their chart. I'm mostly water and air also (and I'm Pisces Sun, Gemini Moon). For me I think it's because I feel an emotional connection with them (the water connection) and also feel a mental connection (air). -

Re: Gemini
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 8:51 PMHi Heather, I think with my Venus in Pisces and my wife's Venus in Cancer it gives our love life balance. She gives me security, and I need to be nurtured (balance). With her VIC she she is attracted to the needy (maybe that's not the correct word, but I'll stick with it). Which with a lot of thought today, I realize I am to a certain extent. I have always sought out a deep connection with the people that are close to me, so if that's needy then I am :) Although, much more goes into a relationship besides the alignment of the stars. Her Gemini Sun with Venus in Cancer fits nicely with me as a Pisces. This is the heavens way of putting two people together that should be. -

Re: Gemini
Fri, May 30, 2008 - 1:01 AMThough i don't know what had to do with what, if anything astrologically, one of the most palpable & beautiful feeling connections I started to experience was with a woman who was born with a Cancer sun & Gemini moon.
We met in a class together, and ended up enjoying each others company, talking & emailing a bit. She was, and as far as i know still is, married to another scorpio sun man. Suffice to say we ended up developing an emotional connection which could have created some complications with her marriage. She soon after moved back north to Canada where she was from, though we stayed in touch through many emails, phone calls and a couple letters.
Eventually though, I felt uncomfortable with continuing relating together as there felt to be some level of related deceit or withholding from her husband about the quality of feelings which seemed to have emerged between us. That was simply not something I wanted to be a part of or contribute to. And it felt off center in a way that did not feel comfortable to me, to relate with someone who would lie through omission to someone they supposedly cared for enough to be married or relate to. As much as I felt very deep affection, affinity, love & friendship with & for her and our connection.
Sighhh....... I still feel & think about her, miss her sometimes. Even have had some intense dreams with her in them as lately as a week ago. The love still exists. Just situational complexities sometimes alter the practical levels of relating differently than our hearts or minds might prefer, it seems.?
Perhaps there was something in the combination of her watery Cancerian sun, Gemini Moon & Scorpio Ascendent and my own watery Scorpio sun, Gemini Moon & Pisces Ascendent?
Certainly at an elemental level that is a pretty harmonious blending. And it felt that way to me with her energetically, emotionally & mentally.
Mike, how long have you been married, if you are open to sharing? How did you meet each other?
Hmmmn, that inspires a thoughts of a thread on how we have met and eventually become more involved with past & present lovers, intimate companions.? -

Re: Gemini
Fri, June 20, 2008 - 3:31 PMI think its a good combo, I mean geminis are so fun and free and funny. Theyre perfect to hang out with cancers and vise versa. I had a few gem friends and I love em. Gems move fast though its like wheeeee lets play and hang out and blah bah . Kinda like they have a perpeller in their butt lol. -

Re: Gemini

It helps to hear another positive perspective of the innate, playful curiosity available through gemini energy as well. Thanks for perceiving & expressing Geminis' energy like that.
Intellectually & otherwise curious & playful... yes. I can feel that too. -

Re: Gemini
Sun, June 22, 2008 - 7:56 PMI've always been curious and playful too haha, maybe it is my Gemini Moon :)) -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Gemini
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 8:17 AMwell I'm a pisces sun cancer rising and I tend to get involved with gemini's quite a bit. I have had quite a few long-term friendships with both male and female gemini's and one romance. The romance DID NOT end well lol. But as far as just being friends go...I get along great with gemini. -
