I was thinking about it the other day....how many days were spent soaking in the tub since I've been born. I never really associated it with being a water sign until just recently but yes...I used to spend at least 3-4 days per week soaking in the tub when I was younger. My mom and dad gave me a cheapo b&w t.v. for X-mas when I was eight and I would haul it in there and watch three's company/Jeffersons/Silver Spoons while soaking. It was MY TIME alone, something I really looked forward to, something that was necessary for me. Just sitting there emerged in droplets....no swimming really, just soaking and being surrounded by water. I also recall going outside with a silver cup I had with my name engraved on it and when it would rain I would collect whatever I could with the cup and then drink it lol....And beyond that, I used to have a summer swimming pool pass and I would go pretty much every day, during the winter I had a pass to the condo swimming pool by our cabin that required a membership....my parents gave it to me b/c they knew how much I loved the water. Granted, I will admit right now, I'm a SHIT swimmer..in fact I failed several swimming tests but I think it was b/c I didn't want anyone telling me how I could or could not enjoy being submerged...Anyway, I LOVE being in the water...soaking/floating, just flailing around etc.....I find myself now with an 8-year old Scorpio (I'm a pisces) who requests the same thing and it honestly wasn't until recently that I figured out why. duh on me. Anyone else?

  • I'm a Pisces who loves water too :D I lived in California until I was 10 and my dad would take me to the beach about every other day and I loved it :)) My dad loves the water too.. he's a Cancer Moon. My mom is a Cancer Sun and ironically she doesn't really like water, she's always been kind of paranoid about swimming lol.
    • yay, my theory is slowly being confirmed! Well, I grew up in Idaho so there wasn't much opportunity to go to the Beach except for a few rocky reservoirs that we used to jet ski on.....but my VERY first trip out on my own was to the Oregon coast and we rented a beach house and spent 7 days there frolicking in the ice cold water during the late days of Feb. That is a memory I will NEVER forget...just the memory of hearing the ocean lap upon the sand is something I will never forget.....Last March I took my daughter to San Fran for the first time and we drove to the coast (Stinson Beach) and spent one day in the water...by far that was the best day of our entire vacation. That was her first time to the Ocean and I will never forget how much fun we both had. She was def in her element and neither of us wanted to leave. We live in Colorado so there is still not very many opportunities for us to spend time in the water, but I guess that 's why the great Cosmic Goo created swimming pools and why I pay extra for a place with an oversized bathtub :)
  • Unsu...

i never really thought about anything except water being -- water. ^_^ that is until i learned about astrolgy.. leave it to me to keep pronouncing it as astronomy... lol.

anyway, it can explain a strange sensation i get around water or drinking water .. etc.

but now that you mention it, i've always had close relationships (a couple in particular) with people who are water signs... such a deep connection.

i have to be honest, i miss that... heh.

a cancer feeling nostaglic and sentimental-- TYPICAL! ^_^
    • I have been away from water all Summer and when one of my friends mentioned she had a swimming pool at her house I felt a surge of emotions...I know that sounds stupid but I was like "can I come too?" I mean, I would if she invited me y'know? But she just kinda ignored me lol....But I did take a bath in epsom salts just yesterday which is an entirely different subject that I would like to cover at some point :) There are some really great health benefits to soaking in epsom salt or so I have recently learned. Maybe that should be a separate thread? Sorry, I am totally bored tonight..I don't mean to dominate the board with my "wonders" at all lol. Feel free to tell me to take a swim haha
      • Please feel as free to share your "wonders" as you want here. If someone is not interested at one moment they / we can just skip reading it. Though sharing in what interests, inspires...each other is part of what enriches empathy & insight in life & relationships, so yes to that . @ being around and loving water I can agree personally too. I was born by the ocean, in san francisco ( said by some astrologers to be a "scorpio ruled" city whatever they meant by that). Ended up being moved by parental influences within a couple years to various places including landlocked and barrenly dry fresno for a few years at different times. Not my type of town for numerous reasons including being so dry. Though for a few years we lived in a tiny coastal town in oregon, which was one of the most enjoyable times of my youth. Feeling the beauty, expanse & quiet natural power of so much water moving according to solar & lunar influences was magical. Many hours were spent wandering, exploring and simply being still at the oceans morphing edges. After many other relocations, I followed my heart and moved myself back to the san francisco bay area and the oceans magical energy @ 2002. When I lived with my grandparents at different times, they had pools which I loved playing in. Was warned about turning into a human prune more than once while lingering in the water. One thing I loved doing was holding my breath then going to bottom of the pools deep end and meditating or crawling & walking around on the bottom as long as I could hold my breath. The feeling of floating with waters special embrace surrounding me completely was / is wonderfully nurturing. Provided access to air is available whenever wanted. That being said, I too am not a great swimmer by any means. Mostly I dog paddle, do a kind of fishy fins to the side stroke under water to propel myself, bob, sink or just splash around.
  • I've had a sailors life. Traveled to 49 out of 50 on tour with different rock bands etc... I was born here in Cali and always felt that it was home for me. I live close enough to the water that I can get to it in a few minutes of travel. I could never live very far away from the ocean. It revitalizes me and makes me feel at peace. Spent endless hours of my youth surfing, diving, and just generally hanging out on the beach when ever I could.

The sea draws me in, and embraces me. I heed it's call when ever I can. Ocean breeze in my face, sand in my toes, a wave crashing down on my face. Nothing makes me happier.
  • I don't really like going in water. The hassle of getting changed and dried is too much. Also I had bad experiences with my swimming teacher when I was eight. I was too scared to dive into the pool so he practically through me in. Not the best method to teach someone to swim.
  • I think I love swimming so much I'd take it over sex...or maybe combined?

    JM
    • never take swimming over sex !!! but i am like a seal in the water ... or a navy seal that is ... heheh .
sex with other water signs is heaven on earth in my experience with the sensuality and so on being very nicely matched whereas I dont have that with air or fire signs usually unless theyve got lotsa water elsewhere

I'm not much of a swimmer but I love water. The thing about beaches and pools is that it's mostly a day time activity. I'm not very friendly with the sun. Not only do I prefer the night but I'm a redhead. Sunburns ; ( Ouch.
The ocean is magical to me. A walk on a dark beach is a dream. I live in the Midwest so.....that doesn't happen much.
The rain soothes me. I love a good thunderstorm. The emotion of the storm itself inspires me... makes me restless and refreshed. If I'm feeling sick I jump in the shower and once the water hits me I'm feeling better.
I'm a double scorp... moon and sun... venus, mercury and jupiter so very watery!
  • I feel a primordial NEED for water.. it does everything for my mental health. If I don't get my showers or baths I start to get a bit overwhelmed and scattered. I was on swimteam for 10 years... can't even tell you how deeply rooted the feeling of being in water is for me
    • This Pisces Needs Water

      Wed, July 23, 2008 - 8:03 AM
I Totally Need Water in My Life. I Swim 4 days a week in the Summer either in a Local freshwater granite Quarry Or the Ocean. Swimming in the the Ocean Is The Most Yin nourishing thing for me; It Keeps me Calm. If I'm Pissed Or Irritable All I need to do Is Walk down the street to the Ocean and Stay in for Like 30 Minutes. I Must get the Top of my Head Wet. Heat /Fire Rises so This is Key to calming This Beast. I Row 5 days a week & sail and take Long showers. Love Hot Tubs and Saunas are Divine.
Also, I'm Really Sensitive / Hypervigalent to My Hydration level... I Drink A shit load of Water Daily. My Fav Anatomy Professor said The Body is 72 % Water when Well Hydrated.... If thirsty... Your Down to 67% ..... The Earth is Also 72% Water Very Interesting Wouldn't you say
Love Sexy Time In/On Water as well... Yum

To me sitting on the beach IS sex on the beach.

Bender: Which ocean? That ocean? [Listens] Woah, it's the like the earth making sweet salty love to itself while all the fish groove on it! ...

totally feel ya on the hydration tip, especially being active and sweating I notice my whole life shift when hydrated and not. I also have a memory of a time when I didn't work and was swimming in the ocean every morning and life was super great. I had no $, lived in my truck and didn't care, it was awesome.
  • Yep... I *must* spend time on, by and in the sea to be a contented Piscean.

I just came back from a visit to a beautiful island and feel totally myself again. The voyage across the water to get there was itself alone completely energizing and calming at the same time. It doesn't get much better than that...for a fish like me.

    I couldn't ever live in a land-locked place..never.
  • i adore water.
the closer i am to it, the better i feel =p
oddly enough though, because of some near drownings, i can be really scared of it too =p still, i adore sitting in a tub for hours and hours, falling asleep in there =p i love when i'm out hiking and stumble across a little spring, if i can get away with wading in a lake, i'll do it, and don't get me started on going to the ocean :D
hopefully we'll go back next summer and stay longer...
it's one of the strongest draws on my confusing urge to "go home," wherever that is

when i was little, i liked to fill up the tub and just lay in there =p haha
  • I'm a Sun and Moon Pisces and I adore and venerate water. Water is life. My favorite thing to do, that I've done three or four times, I can't recall exactly, is stand on the beach, out of the surf, during a thunderstorm. A summer storm is warm enough and it pours down harder than most bath showers. Swimming in the surf right after with rainbows across the water and a fabulous sunset make me feel 12 again starting to see the magic and beauty the world has to offer. I like fog and mist, too. Walking through thick fog with intent can lead me to the otherworld. Words are like shadows of the experience I'm describing briefly here.

Blessed be the precious and preserving water! Blessings to all my water siblings!
    • I feel you on the standing in the rainstorm. I love the rain, I sometimes miss living in HI. It would rain so hard there sometimes and I would ride my bikes in it , one pedal other motorized. Oh so much fun and then we would play football(soccer) in the rain as well, oh what pure joy.
    • oh yes, i loooove fog
i love wandering around in thick fog and mist, and feeling it in my hair
part of the reason why i stopped relaxing my hair was so that i could stand out in the rain without worrying about how to fix my hiar back up hahahah
like someone was saying earlier, water is something close to all of us though. we begin our lives floating in water =p
      • I love the beach, swimming pools and hot tubs. To be in water is a very physical thing, you move through water using your whole body and it wakes everything up.

Sea creature such as huge animals and predators scare me though. I have had many bad dreams as a little kid about sea monsters and sharks.
  • speaking of elements, do you think it's possible for earth signs to love water even more than the water people?

I kinda get the impression that we're attracted to the complementary elements a lot. Not that they like it more than water people, but they appreciate it more. Water people tend to take water for granted. Going swimming is like going home and slouching on the couch for them.

I say that because I'm crazy about swimming and diving, and I'm a Virgo Rising with 3 water planets, 3 air planets and an earth Saturn(just the personal planets, I mean). I also know this woman who's a Sag Sun, Cancer Moon, and a Capricorn AC, and talked about swimming and water like a monk about the morning prayer.

One of my best friends is a Taurus AC, Cancer Sun and Libra Moon and is also crazy about swimming. Then, I know a few water rising people who talk about going swimming like you would talk about going across the street, to buy cigarettes. It's not that they don't enjoy it, but, like I said, they seem to take it for granted.

Also, Fire-heavy charted people seem to love flying. I, for one, have no fire in my chart, and despite some "healthy" doses of air, I feel incredibly uncomfortable on a plane, though not exactly paralyzed with fear either. I just feel like I'm completely in the air, with no kind of support at all. And looking out the window makes me sick.
I also have a pretty serious fear of heights. That developed after puberty, so I tend to blame it on the Earth Rising, as well.
  • I personally don't enjoy water very much...and I am a Scorpio Sun, Pisces Rising...but I have a Capricorn Moon...maybe the old goat in me needs sure footing...LOL

I do live near the water though in Vancouver, BC, Canada...and it is hard to imagine not living here. ;)...enjoying drinks on a boat on a beautiful lower mainland day is second to none. :)
