Water People...Are you missing an element?

topic posted Thu, April 17, 2008 - 6:16 PM by  Unsubscribed
Do you tend to be attracted to people that are made up of the element you are missing?

Like for instance...I have NO earth in my chart, none. I do have quite a bit of air, some mutable and some fixed. Most of me though is made of fire and water. I just realized that I feel most comfortable with people who are grounded with earth signs.

I was wondering if anyone tends to drift toward the element that they are lacking...

No, surprisingly, I've noticed that I'm attracted mostly to other water and air signs (at least their Sun signs).. and that's what I am mostly, water and air. But I do notice that the guys I'm attracted to seem to have the qualities I'm lacking. My week points are I tend to be kind of indecisive, 'scatterbrained', push-over, etc. lol. And the men I'm attracted to seem to be more 'stable', decisive, know what they want in life, organized, dominant, etc. Although My bf is an Aquarius Sun.. but he's mostly air and fire in his chart and I have very little fire and earth. So it might be the fire in him that helps to attract me. But my guy friend who I also feel a deep connection/attraction to is a Cancer Sun, and has mostly water and air in his chart like I do.. but he still has the qualities I'm 'lacking' or I feel I need to 'complete' me in a way.

LOL I told one of my friends before that I feel like I need a guy who can 'keep me in line' .. literally :)
I was looking at our charts again.. and my signs are mostly mutable. My bf's chart has mostly cardinal and fixed signs. And my friend does have more fire in his chart than I do, and he has mostly fixed signs in his chart also. So I guess they're guys who can 'keep me in line' :D

I have NO fire in my chart except for my MC in Leo. I'm all water & earth, which I really like. I have good friends that are fiery water signs and earthy water signs, just like I am. Also a few friendships with ppl that are Aries Sun...they seem to like me for some reason.

I am "attracted to" fire and water, mostly but the relationships are somewhat challenging. Air is extremely challenging! It's ok though because it's never boring. On the other hand I seem most comfortable with my earthy fixed people. It's good to have many kinds of relationships but I guess I'm not all that grounded.LOL Earthy people, especially taureans seem to give me some of that. It's nice to have someone sometimes that you can relax with and know what to expect from them.

I'm mostly Water and Fire in my chart, no Earth or Air. Spent 12 years with a Leo woman who I eventually married, then broke up with her and got together with a Libra woman, pretty much Leo's polar opposite. Now I'm in a great relationship with a Taurus woman who isn't possessive or overbearing (Like the Leo woman), or flaky and indecisive (like the Libra one). We fit together just right. She has mostly Earth and Air in her chart so I guess we do complete each other pretty well.

well, depends on how you define "lacking". I have a Virgo Rising and a Capricorn Saturn, but don't really feel "earthy". I mean, I do have a pretty practical, down-to-earth side, I can be organized(in theory, mostly, or when it comes to organizing someone else..lol), and I'm quite sensual(as in love physical pleasures), but am not basically "earthy". I mean, on a gut level, I'm a Pisces.

It really makes me wonder about how much the Rising really counts.I mean, theoretically, it should be the most important single factor of the chart, arranging the planets into houses, making up your personality type and temper, but..well, dunno.

Anyway, I have very heavy water/air influences that would surely outweigh the Rising, no matter how important it would be. I'm almost 50-50 in water/air influences: Pisces Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Gemini Moon, Mars and Jupiter.

I do think I'm attracted to earth signs, mostly. Or maybe people that have a little fire(no more than a little!-lol).But they have to have a minimum amount of water! At least a water Mars or Venus, in a potential girlfriend's case, and at least 2 of Mercury, Venus and Mars in water, in a potential boyfriend's case.

When I say "lacking" I basically meant having no or very little of one element...

i have zero earth in my chart, and am mostly water and air (do have aries rising tho). most of my planets are in air signs, and my sun and moon are water. i dont feel like i am drawn to earth signs all that much with the exception of capricorn. i do have an obsession with crystals, which are crystalized earth......and i always wonder if it has to do with the fact that i have no earth in my chart.

I've never even thought of having an obsession with crystals, etc. as maybe having to do with having no earth in your chart. But I only have one earth sign in my chart (Mars in Capricorn) and I've always been fascinated with rocks and minerals ever since I was little. And I have quite a collection of them now lol. And the more natural they are the better to me.. I prefer them natural over polished, etc. Maybe it does have something to do with having very little earth.

i really prefer natural too!!!! why polish and take away the beautiful sacred geometry they contain......the earth provides them to us in their perfect divine way :) i will send you an invite to crystal solutions, that is where i share alot of the knowledge the crystals reveal to me......i work with crystals alot, and my favorite thing to do is to share and learn about crystals :)

i also have no earth (except chiron in taurus) in my chart. and i'm not typically attracted to earth signs... virgos send me running the other way, capricorn is the one sign of the zodiac that i can't remember ever having a friend of that sign. the only exception is taurus... my younger brother's a taurus and one of my best friends in the world. my best friend in minneapolis is a taurus. and i'm often attracted to taurus girls... but they don't tend to really draw me in like some other signs.

I have little earth:-). just mars in virgo. does that mean i am not stable and indecisive? everything else is water (only scorpio) and lots of air (aquarius and libra).

Sorry about the dleleted post. I deleted my own, due to typing too fast and too many typos.

                  When shouldnt we be happy?

If we allow outside circumstances to determine our moods like pushing a button for an automatic & predicatble response that would seem a bit dead, to me. Or, well, on "automatic pilot", rather than alive, spontaneous & truly connected and in responsable for our feelings, perspectives and attitudes.
While not always 100% there, the latter is far more interesting and preferable to me anyway! Creative.

Feels helpful to examine deeply our obvious and seemingly buried assumptions, prejudices, fear, insecurities, projections, etc.. Which can seem scary and like a loss of control initially. But ultimately it seems a greater loss of control to be bound by habit, underexamined reactions and judgements of people, actions, "things", etc based on ones underexamined emotional & mental reactions.?

Not that you personally were suggesting anything specific bobby, Im just running with a thread from that comment / thought. When we go deep and expansive enough to find the truths, the beauty, Love &vitality in freedom of expression & interpretation of actions, perspectives, etc life feels much freer, richer and healthfully real than feeling "safe" in established judgements, predictable reactions and assumptions.
                  Blah balha blah...

Sincerity & honesty are good. So is flexibility and freedom in what we allow ourselves to not take so seriously. To find & create humour in even if others are too stuck in rigid ways of perceiving to find the integrity, humour, Love & freedom in. ?

Its all a mirage anyway, useful one but one which sometimes we can forget what is really important above all else - Love. Not mentality, not money, not formal college education or mental stuffiness, snobbery or other distortions of the intellect & emotions.
Self & other respecting Love. And freedom of feeling & creativity. To find the gold of Love, creative perspectives & playfulness in circumstances, perspectives & feelings both obvious and seemingly hidden to oneself or others.

                  My 2cents anyway.

There are just times when you have lost everything or are about to and be it your own fault or just by circumstances nothing good is happening, my friend was still smiling, confident and not doing anything to fix it. He was having fun, being self indulgent and it was affecting everyone around him in a negitive way. Didn't take it serious when it should have been taken seriously and now he's paying the price but it's kind of too late. He'd rather cruise off on his motorcycle than face the reality of his problems. Total bubbly gemini, non detachable manner and now he has no choice than to be depressed and dig himself out of the hole. This is what I mean when I say that when something is sad, you should be sad as well as happy/happy. You shouldn't be confident when there is nothing positive about the situation...anyone getting me? I just think that situations can be avoided if we feel our emotions and deal with them at the time we need to. It certainly helps to avoid a lot of drama and chaos somewhere down the line....

what your saying makes sense to me, Bobbi.
Depends on circumstances and why we do what we do.
What we really value, which may or may not appear to make sense to or agree with someone elses ideas of what is relatively important or of concern overall.

Yes, i agree sometimes in some circumstances we can be using our optimism or any other way of being to avoid an area of our lives. With whatever consequences may result. Layers to unveil.
Something I heard from someone else recently, is that most of the time if not all the time, people just have unique areas of lesser or more developed consciousness.
Some we and other people may or may not recognize& respect the depth, awareness or value of the developed areas of consciousness of oneself or another person in an expectation that it show itself in a familiar way.? But they still exist.

And we all have more to Love, and sometimes more to learn and unlearn simultaneously.

I have the tendency to be light-hearted about some things that should be taken seriously, but not to that extreme. What I meant in my other post was more like sometimes if I'm at church and I can't concentrate and have a fit of the giggles lol. Things like that.. I just mean that sometimes I have a tendency to be 'silly' at the wrong place, wrong time. But I do take important things seriously.

Your friend almost sounds like a friend I used to have who was diagnosed with ADHD and bi-polar disorder. She was almost always on a high, and rarely had the 'low' associated with being bi-polar. Plus she was extremely hyperactive and always seemed happy. She did have lows sometimes, but it was pretty rare. But when she was on a 'low', she would get really depressed. She was supposed to take medication for her problems, but she would purposely skip it because she missed the 'high' that she had when she was off of medication. And she said she felt like a different person and felt like it changed her personality when she was on the medication and she didn't like that either. And of course her parents were concerned about her behavior and it did affect everyone around her. She had many minor car accidents, speeding tickets, would go on vacations on a whim, she even got pregnant as a teen, etc.

Btw, I also have ADHD and take Ritalin for it. But I've never been anything like my friend lol. Other than the 'wacky' sense of humor :) I've always been responsible about things. I've only had one speeding ticket, and no car accidents, I've worked at a full-time job for over a year, and don't act impulsive (at least not to the extreme lol).

Yeah, Heather, he has been diagnosed with ADHD by everyone around him but I think he uses it for an excuse to get away with detatching himself from emotions which is a typical scorpio thing. I told him that I thought he had everyone fooled. He can't handle negative emotions so he uses self indulgent therapy to accomidate himself for the moment. His life is a train wreck but now that he has no other choice, he is doing what he needs to do and is very well focused about it. It's his only option to get out of the depressive state that he has put himself in. I guess it's part of his transformation process and I am faithful that he will be a changed man, however, I don't think all the air in his chart will ever allow him to become totally attatched to emotions eternally. It can be a good thing if balance can be found.

Wow yeah, lol he sounds a lot like my friend. Another thing that sets me apart from my friend was that she appeared hyper, loud, VERY outgoing, careless, etc. In fact she even took a ride with some guys that asked her if she wanted a ride one time, they were guys she didn't know. How I act around people is actually pretty quiet and shy, until I get to know them.. then I'll let my more 'hyper', carefree, talkative side out. I've always been very cautious around people too, and careful about who I trust, and just careful in general. She was the opposite in that way, she would seem to trust people right after she met them and would take too many risks.

Yeah, sounds like the same here...I love the positive energy in people like this but somehow some common sense needs to apply, especially when trust issues come along. Not everyone is a do-gooder and when you have been making the same mistakes by putting yourself in the same situations over and over and then wonder why in the hell the same things keep happening the same way, you would think that they would get it.LOL

Yes, and she definitely was missing common sense. And she would also make the same mistakes over and over again. It was very frustrating lol. Oh and she would also go on little weird 'kicks'... like she wanted to change her first name, and she wanted all her friends to start calling her by her 'new' name. She was planning on legally changing it, but then changed her mind about a year later, and so we had to start calling her by her 'original' name again lol. And she went on a vegetarian kick.. don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything wrong with being a vegetarian, but with her you never knew if she was serious and if it would last or not.
