Greetings on the 2nd day of November with the theme of Surrender.
This is a Releasing/Cleansing Affirmation in the first week of the month.
Make this a progressive day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I rescind obsolete vows of limitation, including the need to
understand everything.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
This "vows affirmation" is designed to neutralize outdated vows that have been repeated for years, even centuries. The
specific vows can be quite variable: struggle, poverty, sacrifice, silence, unworthiness, celibacy, martyrdom, etc.
With the theme of surrender, this idea of letting go of the "need to understand everything" is potent. I have watched
many folks slow down or reverse their progress by hanging on to trying to understand all the details or spending too long
at an activity like this. Sometimes it is helpful to know which vow we are rescinding; sometimes it is more helpful to
rescind EVERY vow that limits us without knowing the
specifics.
ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
Continuing yesterday's discussion on writing affirmations repeatedly with both the dominant (D) and non-dominant (ND)
hands...... When you write a powerful releasing affirmation such as this one with the dominant hand, you send messages
to and use the brain in the usual ways. The non-dominant hand, however, activates a part of your brain that is
generally underutilized. You may find that this is an emotional experience for you -- one that evokes anger or
resentment or exhilaration or laughter. Relax and remember: this process is designed to stimulate release, and it is
working! I have often seen clients break patterns established in childhood through this simple D-ND-D writing pattern.

Re: TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...
Thu, November 2, 2006 - 11:08 PMTODAYS AFFIRMATION FOR FRIDAY NOVEMBER 3...
Today is a good day to consider what surrender means. In
battle, we surrender to the opponent, the enemy. In
personal growth, however, we use the word in another way:
we surrender upward or inward. In order to surrender to
higher principles, old stuff must drop away. Ego,
resistance, disappointments, untruths, limitations,
distortions, half-truths, lies, and misconceptions are all
grist for the letting-go mill. When we ask to let go of
lies and burdens, we may find such things IN OUR FACES, as a
popular expression says, because they come to the surface.
Angels and other spiritual beings of light willingly do what
we humans sometimes cannot do. We ask for their assistance
and thank them for their presence as they carry off the
unwanted stuff. -

Re: TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...NOVEMBER 6, 2006
Mon, November 6, 2006 - 11:08 AMGreetings on the 6th day of November with the theme of Surrender.
This is a Releasing/Cleansing Affirmation in the first week of the month.
Make this a delicious day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I dissolve thoughts that tell me I must be in control.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
This concept can be a challenge for those of us who like to
be in charge! After all, we have been taught that we must
take control of our own lives, that we must control our own
destiny. And, indeed, if we feel powerless, our first step
out of powerlessness is to acquire control. After we have
experienced personal control, though, we must surrender it
to Spirit or a higher power. We shift our belief in human
will power as the ultimate to the belief in the Power of the
Divine Will as the Ultimate. A power grander than the human
ego is truly in charge.
ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
As you near the end of the first week with this theme,
consider what remains for you to release or cleanse or
purify as you surrender to a higher part of yourself. Is
there resistance? Anger? Confusion? Control?
Expectation? Doubt? Fear? Perhaps you do not know what
you need to release -- that is fine. Just release the
thoughts or memories or messages that suggest shoulds or
control or adverse consequences for doing or not doing
something. Take a deep breath and release. Release
resistance.

Re: TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...NOVEMBER 7, 2006 TUESDAY
Wed, November 8, 2006 - 7:42 AMOur theme is Surrender. This first week of the month we work with releasing and cleansing non-Surrender. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process. Make this a divine day!
I let Spirit (My Higher Self, God/dess, My Spirit Guides, The One, The Force, Infinite Source)
purify any remaining thoughts and feelings of needing to be "right."
About Today's Affirmation
We evoke the Divine: Yahweh, The Goddess, Angels, Source, sacred beings of light, and all other holy names, (Whatever YOU personally want to call to, it is very personal to each individual!) The pure energy of Spirit is available to us at all times, even though we often forget or do not understand. When we are aligned with The Divine, we know without doubt or need to fight or intent to persuade. We release the clutching of the human ego that wants so much to be "right" so that we can place ourselves in the hands of a loving God/dess. We surrender to surrender.
About Your Process
Select any designation that suits you and surrender to that higher power. If that direction (up) does not work for you, surrender to your inner self (inward). You may not be aware in your human consciousness what else needs to be purified -- so trust a higher or inner power to support you as you let go of the need to be right or to be in control or to understand everything. Give up resistance and excuses. -

Re: TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...NOVEMBER 9, 2006 THURSDAY
Thu, November 9, 2006 - 8:50 AMGreetings on the 9th day of November with the theme of Surrender.
This is a Receiving/Accepting Affirmation in the second week of the month.
Make this an expansive day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I receive goodness from the Universe. I create a space for
surrender to come into my life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
All goodness on the earth plane comes from Spirit. It is up
to each one of us to open to this goodness. We must create
a space for it in consciousness. If the goodness has no
fertile place to move into the physical, it remains in
Spirit. It is this goodness to which we surrender. Old
patterns of fear or confusion or custom may encourage us to
push away the very idea/thing we truly desire for the
highest good. We let today's affirmation assist us all in
opening our energy fields and in allowing our consciousness
to be fertile soil to plant the seeds of goodness. -

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10
Fri, November 10, 2006 - 9:35 AMGreetings on the 10th day of November with the theme of Surrender.
This is a Receiving/Accepting Affirmation in the second week of the month.
Make this a flowing day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
I allow surrender to flow through me and lead me on my path.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
Many folks these days admit the desire to "be in the flow." It is a popular _expression and an empowering concept.
However, to "be in the flow" we must surrender to that flow. We cannot MAKE the flow happen, we ALLOW it to happen.
As this energy flows through us, it opens a pathway. It is also popular these days to consider that some persons are
"on a spiritual path" and others are not. I consider this to be narrow and judgmental, and, in some cases, spiritual
arrogance. We are ALL spiritual beings on spiritual paths which may be rocky or smoothly paved or narrow or circuitous
or zig-zaggy or curvy or up-hilly or down-hilly.
ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
You are on a path that is uniquely your own, distinct from anyone else's path. Everyone else in your life is also on a
path that is uniquely his or her own, distinct from anyone else's. In addition, you are on a collective path with many
others. You may know these others personally or study with them through a correspondence course or read the same
email messages. Today, you might want to consider how you would describe your unique path to an artist who has been
commissioned to create a painting that visually represents your path to others. What would you tell the artist? What
would the artist paint? What would the viewers see? -

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...TUESDAY NOVEMBER 14
Tue, November 14, 2006 - 4:13 PMGreetings on the 14th day of November with the theme of Surrender.
This is a Receiving/Accepting Affirmation in the second week of the month.
Make this an alive day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am ready right now to live in the flow of the Universe.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
This statement of readiness opens a door to the Universe. We cannot plan for all the possibilities that living "in the
flow of the Universe" holds because the possibilities are limitless. We acknowledge that "right now" is the only time
that exists. We are ready right now and we are ready for all the right nows to come. No need to wait for something
to happen (marriage or divorce or job or career or move, etc.), we are ready right now to go with the flow, to grow
with the flow, to glow with the flow. We are ready to live fully.
ABOUT YOUR PROCESS
Are you ready? Maybe you are just "ready to be ready" or "willing to be ready." Wherever you are is the perfect
place for you to be. Allow and accept. If you have a belief that something must happen before you can live in the
flow, you may find it helpful to recognize that such a belief limits your present experience. An event or person
or condition you hope or believe will change your life for the better may be just another opportunity for you to
disempower yourself. Why take a chance by expecting the external to change the internal? Live in the flow RIGHT
NOW, right where you are. External conditions are constantly changing, so it is important to live in the flow
no matter what the conditions.

Re: TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...TUESDAY NOVEMBER 14
Wed, November 15, 2006 - 8:21 AMOur theme is Surrender. We work with our being and intention for surrender. Make this a Good day!
I know that surrender leads to the highest good for all.
About Today's Affirmation
I consider "the highest good for all" to be a generic, all-purpose high intention. Inherent in this intention/affirmati on
is surrender -- because we, in our human awareness, might not know precisely what is the highest good. We affirm
the concept of spiritual knowingness while trusting the Universe to handle the details. So often, I notice that individuals
think they know what is "right" -- a belief usually based on cultural norms and family traditions and the duality of right
and wrong. While we are in the process of lifting our consciousness, we can evolve more steadily by letting go of
assumptions that we know how events "should" turn out. We trust. We hold a vision of spiritual perfection. We surrender
to the highest good. The higher our consciousness lifts, the more clearly we can see many facets of the highest good
and hold opposing views simultaneously with appreciation. -

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 15
Wed, November 15, 2006 - 8:22 AMTHE POST WAS FOR TODAY, WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 15, SORRY!!! -
-
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
TODAY'S AFFIRMATION...THURSDAY NOVEMBER 16
Wed, November 15, 2006 - 9:25 PMOur theme is Surrender. This third week of the month we work with our being and intention
for surrender. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
Make this an uplifting day! I deepen my awareness of the consciousness of surrender, from which my uplifting
actions spring.
About Today's Affirmation
November's daily walk with the concept of surrender now deepens. Surrender becomes more real, more joyous,
more familiar. True surrender honors mystery. Being as comfortable with not knowing as with knowing is an indication
of surrender. We dip into the consciousness of surrender, a mysterious pool of spiritual substance. A daily dip into
this pool energizes our actions and lifts us up in conscious awareness. Sometimes events happen in our lives that
surprise or mystify us. Surrendering to our higher/deeper consciousness as we experience those events -- not waiting to understand all the dynamics -- puts us more in the flow of life. We allow ourselves to be in the present moment, no
matter what the moment presents.
About Your Process
About what do you wish to become aware today? What are the actions you might consider taking to help your
experience of surrender be more real? More joyous? More uplifting? More familiar? What mystery/mysteries are
you interested in exploring today? What, if anything, are you called upon to do that helps you to experience the
flow of life? Dip into the pool of the consciousness of surrender as you explore the responses to these questions -

SURRENDER - FRIDAY
Fri, November 17, 2006 - 8:26 PMOur theme is Surrender. This third week of the month we work with our being and intention
for surrender. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
Make this a wonderful day!
High intention operates in the midst of surrender.
Surrender operates in the midst of high intention.
About Today's Affirmation
Today's affirmation makes another association with the concepts of "high intention" and "surrender." We let the
essence of today's affirmation blend and merge with the energy of our collective over-arching statements of intention
for surrender. If we were to re-write today's affirmation to make it more personal, we might say: "I live in high intention
as I surrender." Or, "I let surrender and high intention operate together in my life." -

CREATIVE BALANCE IN CONSCIOUSNESS
Sun, November 19, 2006 - 10:14 AMThis theme is different today, I saw this in a group posting and it really touched me and I wanted to share this with you...
I send you this as another viewpoint on the need for creative balance in consciousness and how to let it be, with love and blessing, Paul
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
(Adapted with kind permission from Ervin Laszlo's new book," The Chaos Point: The World at the Crossroads", Hampton Roads,
2006, ISBN 1571744851)
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~
At this point in our history, human beings have accumulated unprecedented power, hence responsibility, to decide our destiny. Although the prospect of global breakdown stares us in the face, it is by no means inevitable.
We also have the unprecedented option of choosing a brighter tomorrow. Nothing prevents us from shifting our evolutionary path toward a peaceful and sustainable civilization except our own patterns of thinking and action. The leaders now in power, and the mainstream society they represent have not yet glimpsed a different future for our civilization. Yet many other people are inspired by visions of a global breakthrough that are already emerging at the creative frontiers of our society.
Societies are seldom culturally monolithic in their thinking. This is especially true in eras of innovation and ferment. Those periods spawn a large number of subcultures, or alternative cultures that spring up alongside the prevailing power structure. This is what we see happening today, with some of these alternative cultures devoting themselves to imaginatively rethinking the priorities, values, and behaviors of society, giving particular attention to how we can improve environmental sustainability and human ethics. This sort of fundamental reassessment of how we live, even if overlooked or ignored by those in power, can spark rapid and revolutionary change. While barely visible in the major media, a number of grassroots movements, from global justice to holistic health to spiritual exploration, are already blazing the trail away from the usual assumptions of mainstream culture.
Even the people involved with these movements underestimate their own numbers, in part because most of them go about their business without trying to convert others, and because they lack social and political cohesion. Yet the more serious and sincere of these alternative cultures show promise as catalysts of a social breakthrough. Unlike many subcultures and sects, these people do not relish taking antisocial stances. Rather, they are quietly but profoundly engaged in the world,
challenging accepted beliefs and pursue new avenues of personal and social commitment.
The people drawn to these sometimes-diffuse movements are united by the aspiration to live a more simple, healthy, whole and ethical life. They are appalled by what they see as the heartless impersonality and mindless destructiveness of contemporary society.
The Institute of Noetic Sciences, founded in California by Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell to explore the potential for
expanding human consciousness, has documented the following changes in values and behavior among some of these subcultures now emerging in the United States:
* A shift from competition to partnership
* A shift from greed to caring
* A shift from feelings of scarcity to feelings of sufficiency
* A shift from reliance on outer sources of "authority" to inner sources of "knowing"
* A shift from viewing the world as mechanistic system to viewing it as a living system
* And, perhaps most significant of all, a shift from separation to wholeness -- a fresh recognition of the interconnectedness of all aspects of life and reality.
Such a significant redirection of values among a growing number of people merits serious consideration. Yet mainstream
society and media often dismiss these developments as "New Age", not bothering to differentiate between the sincere, positive people in alternative cultures and others more inclined to the narcissism, naivete or hucksterism. To dismiss everyone in these alternative cultures as cult members or "flakes" is to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
No new chapter in human civilization will ever emerge if we just sit around with our hands in our laps waiting for a
holistic convergence that will foster a new way of thinking. A critical mass of people in society must stand up to make it happen. That means you and me, and many others around the planet. And now is the time to get started.
Following are some decisive things you and I can do right now, on a personal and a social basis, to promote the shift
toward peaceful and sustainable civilization.
_1. Let go of old beliefs like the following which no longer make sense._
* Nature is inexhaustible.
* The world operates like a giant mechanism.
* Life is a struggle and only the fittest survive.
* The market is the only means of distributing wealth and benefits.
* The more you earn and consume the more successful and happy you are.
_2. Think globally, act morall_y
In a healthy, high-functioning society, everyone shares a common morality. But what is moral in one culture may be
unacceptable in another. This is a cause of much international tension and conflict today. As countries grow more interdependent, economically and socially, the urgent need surfaces for a morality that can be accepted by all humans, wherever they live.
Rather than "live and let live," we need a universal morality better adapted to the conditions in which humanity finds
itself. One inspiration might be Gandhi's message, "Live more simply, so others can simply live." That advice is even more urgent today than it was in Gandhi's day. Today it's widely recognized that living is not simply a form of punishment, reward or sacrifice. On the contrary, simple living is a sensible choice that offers us greater personal well-being and a deeper sense of meaning in life. The survival of humanity is intimately tied to nurturing a sense of solidarity and co-operation in the global community, as well as a respect for the integrity of nature.
_3. Dream -- and take your dreams seriously_
In 1968, when Senator Robert Kennedy ran for president of the U.S., he said, "Some men see things as they are and say, why? I dream things that never were and say, why not?" To imagine what you want for the world is not foolish nor a waste of time. Today, as we face the choice between a global breakdown or breakthrough, dreams are more important than ever before.
_4. Evolve your consciousness
_
Expanding your own sense of consciousness can be a powerful tool in bringing critical changes to the world. How? In a
heightened "decision window" time such as ours, even small shifts can influence the course of civilization. As anthropologist Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
One way to do it that may surprise you is by entering a so-called altered state of consciousness that is typical of deep
meditation and intense prayer. This allows you to experience a profound oneness with the natural world and other people. whether they are next door, in distant parts of the world, or part of generations yet to come -- and realize that the fate of nature and people is not separate from your own fate.
Not everybody, of course, is drawn to deep prayer or meditation. Fortunately, other paths lead to the same place. Another route is to get in touch with our bodies. Traditionally we use our bodies as we use our cars or computers, giving them commands to take us where we want to go and do what we want to have done. We live in our heads. We can break free of that cerebral imprisonment with yoga, tai chi, qi gong, Ayurvedic exercises, as well as simple breathing techniques or deep relaxation. Even a daily walk can help.
The stresses and strains of existence also have an impact on our emotional lives. Negative feelings such as anger, hate, fear, anxiety, suspicion, jealousy, contempt and indifference dominate the tenor of modern existence. Negative experiences generate negative attitudes that create further negative experiences. This cycle must be broken. Take stock of your feelings and make a conscious effort to transform negative emotions. It may not be easy to replace hate with love, suspicion with trust, contempt with respect, jealousy with appreciation and anxiety with self-assurance, yet it can be done. All the spiritual traditions of the world offer ways to do it.
Or try secular techniques, such as therapy or support groups, that allow you to share your fears and hopes. Positive emotions can be generated by opening ourselves to experiences of nature, beholding the beauty of a sunset, or making time to relax and play with friends and family.
Addressing a joint session of the U.S. Congress in February of 1990, Vaclav Havel, then the president of Czechoslovakia,
said, "Without a global revolution in the sphere of human consciousness, nothing will change for the better... and the catastrophe toward which this world is headed -- the ecological, social, demographic or general breakdown of civilization -- will be unavoidable. "
Havel did not mean to discourage us with pessimism, but challenged us to re-examine our thinking and evolve our
consciousness. If we do so, the brave but small movement seeking a more holistic, peaceful and sustainable civilization could turn into a powerful force that washes away the old mindset that's ruled the world for too long. We can change the world and leave our children with a better place to live.

SURRENDER - TUESDAY
Tue, November 21, 2006 - 7:50 AMOur theme is Surrender. This third week of the month we work with our being
and intention for surrender. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation
and suggestions for your process. Make this a grace-filled day!
Surrender and grace enhance all my thoughts and feelings.
About Today's Affirmation
Today's affirmation is the last of the Being/Intending Affirmations, so it is fitting that we associate
surrender with grace. At times, surrender can look very sloppy and ungraceful. We often have an
expectation that "grace" is beautiful in a particular way. Yet the messy crumbling of false beliefs is
elegant -- although we may need the passing of time to recognize and appreciate the elegance.
Surrender and grace enhance all the parts of our lives, if we let them.
About Your Process
Take a deep breath and consider anything else you desire to understand or know or intend before taking action with respect to surrender. Undoubtedly during this month you have already experienced many acts of surrender -- you are not expected to wait until the third week to act! However, next time we shift the focus of the affirmations to actions that are based on the exploration of surrender in a
consciousness that is well-grounded in intention and has been cleared of non-surrender.

MONDAY - SURRENDER
Sun, November 26, 2006 - 7:00 PMOur theme is Surrender. This fourth week of the month we work with action and with claiming surrender.
Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process. Make this a divine day!
I draw a circle of surrender to establish my space of enlightenment.
About Today's Affirmation
When we are encircled by the energy of our higher self (to which our human ego has surrendered), we live in enlightenment, where there is no place for ignorance, war, untruth, doubt, etc. Such dynamics cannot exist when we are truly living in the consciousness of the divine. All the glorifying of war does not make war divine.
Guns at the borders/boundaries of countries do not promote peace. We cannot shoot our way into harmony. Perhaps the whole world is not yet able to believe that the greatest protection is love, yet this is the Spiritual truth. We use the energy that allows us to surrender to our higher power, to encircle us with Truth and Peace
and Enlightenment.
About Your Process
As you work with today's affirmation, you may have a particular person or place in your mind (including, of course, yourself!). Visualizing a circle in your mind's eye or drawing a circle on paper can energize it still further. Select a person or persons or place or places to encircle with love, then surrender to a higher power and truth. If you can take a few minutes out of your busy day, imagine your circle becomes a sphere of light surrounding the person or place that has your attention. Breathe light into the sphere. Remind yourself of that ball of light throughout the day, a place to land your loving attention. -

TUESDAY- SURRENDER
Tue, November 28, 2006 - 12:43 AMGreetings! Our theme is Surrender. This fourth week of the month we work with action and with claiming surrender.
Make this an actual day!
I let every act be an act of surrender.
About Today's Affirmation
This is somewhat similar to other affirmations this month: we associate surrender with another dynamic -- today,
with actions. We let breathing be an act of surrender. We let every motion be an act of surrender. We let the choice
to be in stillness be an act of surrender. When we turn left, we claim this choice as an act of surrender; when we turn
right, we claim this choice as an act of surrender. We let each act open up a space for surrender to exist. More than
the act itself, we honor the consciousness from which we choose the act. -
-
THURSDAY- SURRENDER
Thu, November 30, 2006 - 11:20 AMOur theme is Surrender. These last days of the month we work with integrating and embodying surrender.
Make this an enlightened day!
Today is an opportunity for surrender.
About Today's Affirmation
Each day is an opportunity. Today, in particular, we acknowledge as an opportunity for surrender to express itself.
We give up. We give UP. We give upward to allow all that is unnecessary and unwanted to drop away. As we lift our consciousness upward, the lower vibrations become less and less attractive. We no longer become curious about
those ideas that are dark or devious or out of alignment with integrity. We trust the divine to lift us up the rest of the
way as we, in our human condition, claim and integrate the desire to be lifted.
About Your Process
Take a moment to reflect on your month of affirmations and thoughts related to surrender. As restrictions and limitations
released from you, you may have felt uncomfortable. If you still feel uncomfortable, let those feelings guide you to create
positive visions for your next opportunities. Remind yourself of your over-arching intention -- notice if your statement changed
or if you changed your understanding of its words. Assimilate what you wish to retain. Surrender to appreciation and joy. -

DECEMBER'S AFFIRMATION IS...MASTERY!
Fri, December 1, 2006 - 10:48 AMGreetings on the 1st day of December with the theme of Mastery.
This is a Releasing/Cleansing Affirmation in the first week of the month.
Make this a dynamic day!
ABOUT YOUR INTENTION
If you have not already done so, please identify an
over-arching intention for Mastery. This is a statement
that guides you during the month as we explore the theme of
mastery. Intention is the energy or consciousness from
which actions emerge. You have 31 days to work with the
intention and the theme, so let your exploration enrich the
statement. Here are a few suggestions for statements of
intention about the theme of Mastery: *To live in the
constant realization of all that is. *I realize that I
manifest from Spirit, not from the physical. *To know in
each moment that I create my life. *I know my power is in
Spirit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I give myself permission to release limitation and ignorance
from every level of the energy field, easily and effortlessly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ABOUT TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
The "basic" releasing affirmation is "I release." However, our humanness often wants something specific to release.
So, we can say or feel or think "I release anything that gets in the way of mastery." The two dynamics named in
today's affirmation often get in the way of mastery: limitation and ignorance. Another dynamic that gets in the
way of mastery is spending too long exploring limitation and ignorance and all the reasons we are in a puddle we do not
want to be in. Whatever we release today -- whether we can name it or not -- we release easily and effortlessly. (We
also have the right to choose a path of struggle -- but it is important to recognize it is a choice. I advocate ease
and effortlessness.) -
-
MASTERY
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 8:34 AMOur theme is Mastery. This first week of the month we work with releasing and cleansing non-mastery.
Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
Make this a free day!
I release memories that allowed belief in ignorance and bondage.
Angels of Love and Light carry off this heaviness.
About Today's Affirmation
We all live in varying degrees of ignorance and bondage. We who strive for true mastery must release our
ignorance and limited beliefs and bondage and ties and attachments. It is not optional; it is required. Engaging
the angels is very smart -- they work 'round the clock with gratitude as their only remuneration. These angels
do not judge or pout or criticize (such human beliefs about angels only limit the humans, not the angels). Angels
do, however, giggle a lot (especially the Seraphim) and they love unconditionally. They wait patiently for us to
ask for their services, but ..... Why wait?
About Your Process
See or imagine that you see these angels -- these wonderful beings of love and light -- carrying off heavy,
distorted stuff. You may experience this as a cartoon or as an adventure or as a serious matter. Angels use
shovels and trucks, vacuum cleaners and brooms, buckets of clean water and scrub brushes. No tool is too l
arge or too small for them to use. The angels, as you know, take their work lightly. Their work is their play.
Feel in your heart the joy of being in association with these beings. Laugh. Play. Dance. Let go. Here are a few
e-angels for you today . ^i^ ^i^ ^i^ ^i^ -

Re: MASTERY
Wed, December 6, 2006 - 12:15 PMOur theme is Mastery. This first week of the month we work with releasing and cleansing
non-mastery. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your
process. Make this a hopeful day!
I move my attention from thoughts that suggest there is no hope to thoughts of hope and joy and playfulness.
About Today's Affirmation
When we feel separated, we accept hopelessness and fear as our companions. It is time to refocus the thoughts
and beliefs and pictures that have convinced us that there is no hope; we place the focus elsewhere. When we
are well-anchored in thoughts of positive ideas, we exude hope and peace and calmness. With our positive ideas,
we feel inspired and from that consciousness we can inspire those persons who may have faith in hopelessness
or are preoccupied with thoughts of war. Our love and appreciation lead the path away from untruthful thoughts
and false beliefs and feelings of isolation -- that is mastery.
About Your Process
Many of you tell me that you print out the daily affirmation messages. Please honor the trees that have given their
life for the paper that is consumed. One of my greatest excitements about the Internet connections is the potential
for reducing the use of paper.(I have not exactly achieved the paperless office, but I am working on it!) Please give
consideration to ways to keep paper consumption to a minimum. If you print out the daily affirmations, please
consider making a donation to an organization that plants trees throughout the world. I use paper made from
grasses rather than trees (love it!). I support organizations that plant trees and those that produce tree-free paper.
Little acts that are friendly to the planet bring individuals together with greater and greater hope and love and mastery.
As you become aware of specific beliefs that are limiting thoughts, you may wish to return to working with the
affirmations of December 1 and December 2. You can adjust either or both affirmations to incorporate the limiting
beliefs that you discover, if you choose. You will find that writing these affirmations according to the process we
have developed will be particularly effective. -

MASTERY
Thu, December 7, 2006 - 11:23 AMOur theme is Mastery. This first week of the month we work with releasing and cleansing
non-mastery. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
Make this a pure day!
I let Spirit (My Higher Self, God/dess,
My Spirit Guides, The One, the Force, Infinite Source) purify any remaining thoughts of limitation.
About Today's Affirmation
On this, the last day of the Releasing/Cleansing affirmations, we trust the wisdom of the divine to purify
anything that we might have missed. As conscious as we might be in our human awareness, the wisdom
of our Spirit prevails. And we prevail upon Spirit to intervene. We are in awe of the vastness of higher
consciousness, as we humbly and clumsily attempt to find a name that represents the divine. We trust the
Infinite Light, the perfection of Spirit, the knowingness of the Higher Self, the flow of the Universe, the
wisdom of The Goddess, the omnipotence of God, the purity of angels.
About Your Process
To honor the divine, select the preferred phrase or create another. Or use all the phrases! The idea here
is to allow your non-human higher consciousness to purify those thoughts that you may not recognize in your
human awareness. Trust Spirit to know what needs to be purified. Release and let go; give your energy to
those things that define and enhance your mastery. I suggest you re-visit your over-arching intention for Mastery. -

Re: MASTERY
Mon, December 11, 2006 - 10:20 AMOur theme is Mastery. This second week of the month we work with receiving and accepting mastery.
Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
Make this a meditative day!
Creator, allow me to see mastery in a way that I can understand.
About Today's Affirmation
I like to think of all conversations as conversations with Spirit. Affirmations, dreams, whispers from the wind, talks with friends, deepest secrets, loudest cries, songs of birds are all conversations with Creator. Agents of the Creator may also be listening -- bosses, brothers, spouses, friends, angels, lovers, sisters, neighbors -- but seeing our conversations as prayers to the divine lifts our consciousness. There is no place for gossip, idle chatter, ridicule, or hatred when we align and converse with the divine. We give our attention to that which we desire. The divine exists in the present.
About Your Process
So, to what do you desire to give your attention to experience mastery? Skipping rope? Life? Being a clown? Emotional clarity? Identify something to be your laboratory. Then let every moment teach you so that mastery is a here-and-now experience, not a maybe-sometime-in-the-future fantasy. One experience of mastery in your laboratory is a step to another experience and then another. As you touch what you want, you vibrate to what you want, attracting more of what you want. Today's prayer to the Creator for insight opens you to understanding at all levels, not mere mental understanding. -

Re: MASTERY FOR TUESDAY DECEMBER 12
Thu, December 14, 2006 - 9:45 AMOur theme is Mastery. This second week of the month we work with receiving and accepting
mastery. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
Make this an amiable day!
Mastery, you are my friend. You are with me always.
About Today's Affirmation
We all have many friends in the world -- with two legs, four legs, or no legs. Mastery is a friend we might
like to invite to our parties, to work, onto the freeways, highways, streets, and parking lots. We call mastery our
friend. The "you are my friend" affirmations have been life-changing for many folks. While it is nice to have human
friends, it is also important to recognize that trees and animals and machines and furniture can also be our friends.
My computer is named Aqua Marine, who replaced Amethyst. Both go by the initials IAM. Amethyst's predecessor
was Samantha, known as SAM. My car is named ToBe (Pronounced as the name Toby) my last car was FD
(for FreeDom); my car before that was Chi. Life without these friends would be quite different.
About Your Process
Who are your friends? I suggest that you make a list of all those you consider to be friends. If you just want
to stick with naming people, that is fine. As you make your list, you will probably begin to recognize certain
qualities about some relationships, for example, "close" or "intimate" or "once-a-week" or "long-distance" or
"supportive" or "big laughs" or some other attributes that seem important to you. Then select one or two of
these attributes that are particularly significant to you and see how many of your friends fall into those groups
or have those characteristics. If you notice that a particular area of your life lacks friends, you have discovered
a new growth opportunity for yourself. (P.S. Did you put yourself on your list of friends?) -

Re: MASTERY FOR WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 13
Thu, December 14, 2006 - 9:47 AMOur theme is Mastery. This second week of the month we work with receiving and accepting
mastery. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
Make this an uplifting day!
I accept peace, love, and mastery in all aspects of life.
About Today's Affirmation
Acceptance is a key to uplifting consciousness. Indeed, the moment we accept what we are, where we are,
and who we are is the moment we are transformed into greater awareness. Where we notice conflict, we
identify as a place that nudges us to accept peace. Where we notice fear, we recognize as a place to accept
love. Where we notice limitation, we accept mastery. We do not need to "fix" the conflict or the fear or the
limitation. We simply accept peace and love and mastery into the situation or the idea or the relationship.
When we do this we ourselves are transformed, whether the situation is transformed or not.
About Your Process
This affirmation I can hear as a chant or a song. You may hear the same melody I do, another one, or none
at all. I find it is very helpful to work with as many senses as possible, as well as feelings and thoughts and
metaphors and images. If you say this (or any other) affirmation without connecting with it in any way, you
might as well give your attention to something else, like popping popcorn or darning your socks. What is your
special connection with today's affirmation? -

Re: MASTERY FOR THURSDAY DECEMBER 14
Thu, December 14, 2006 - 9:49 AMOur theme is Mastery.
This second week of the month we work with receiving and accepting mastery.
Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions
for your process. Make this a great-full day!
I am ready right now to live in mastery.
I gratefully receive the opportunity.
About Today's Affirmation
Readiness is such an individual matter, yet there are also universal attributes of readiness. Here are a few signs
of readiness to live in mastery (please note, it is not necessary to experience all or any of these to be ready):
the world around us seems to crumble, all we used to believe in now seems false; major life transitions; the
same answers appear every place we turn; a pleasant shift of attitude; boredom; longing to do the opposite of
what we once longed to do; dizziness or light-headedness; noticing patterns of behavior and/or articulating
self-realizations; a knowingness that all is well.
About Your Process
Are you ready? Consider as you ponder this affirmation (or change it or delete it or read it with one eye open),
what is the best indication of your readiness of living in mastery? And how do you now prevent yourself from
living fully in mastery consciousness? And what is mastery to you? Mastery blends being and doing -- the types
of affirmations we will work with over the next two weeks.

Re: MASTERY FOR THURSDAY DECEMBER 14
Thu, December 14, 2006 - 10:14 AMDaily Affirmations
If you repeat an affirmation three times a day three times, each time you do it for 28 days it will become a part of your being and whenever you feel like life
is going out of control you will be able to just find that safe place.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 15
Fri, December 15, 2006 - 2:43 AMOur theme is Mastery. This third week of the month we work with being and intention for mastery. Following today's affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process.
I know that mastery leads to the highest good for all.
About Today's Affirmation
When we live in the consciousness of mastery, we provide energy that creates the highest good for all. Intention is the key to living in mastery, which is the consciousness in which doubt and fear cannot exist. So with this generic, all-purpose high intention sitting as an umbrella over all other statements of intention, we breathe in the energy of our over-arching intention for mastery. We walk through life protected by this umbrella.
About Your Process
As you move through the month of December, notice how your path is guiding and leading you. Notice what is leading you, how you are being led, and where you are going. Know that you are learning to embody mastery (rather than wondering if… or hoping that maybe someday……). You choose the laboratory for learning: home, work, a specific relationship, money, personal harmony, etc. When you are in the consciousness of mastery in familiar places you find it easier to be in mastery in unfamiliar places.

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 26, 2007~FORGIVENESS
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 5:14 AMWhat is Forgiveness and Why Should You Care?
Webster’s New World Dictionary definition of the word forgive is “to give up resentment against or the desire to punish; stop being angry with; pardon.” Most spouses, at some time or another, struggle with the issue of forgiveness as incidents happen in the marriage.
There are very legitimate reasons for feeling hurt and wronged, such as a partner who is disrespectful, inconsiderate, unsupportive, or unfaithful. But if you remain stuck in resentment, anger, bitterness, or vengeance, you will be unable to move on with your life in a healthy way. Holding grudges and hanging on to negative feelings reduces your capacity to enjoy life and to have maximum energy in the present moment.
Lewis B. Smedes, in The Art of Forgiving, makes the following points about what forgiveness is and what it is not:
Forgiving does not mean that we excuse the person who did it.
Forgiving does not mean that we invite someone who hurt us once to hurt us again.
Forgiving someone who did us wrong does not mean that we tolerate the wrong he or she did.
Forgiveness is not about reunion. Being reconciled to another person as a human being and embracing him/her as a best friend are two different things.
Forgiveness happens inside the person who does it.
So when should you forgive? “We forgive,” shares Smedes, “when we feel a strong wish to be free from the pain that glues us to a bruised moment of the past.
We forgive when we want to overcome the resentment that separates us from the person who wounded us. We forgive when we feel God’s Spirit nudging us with an impulse to pull ourselves out of the sludge of our disabling resentment. We forgive when we are ready to move toward a future unshackled from a painful past we cannot undo.”
How to Forgive and Move On
What have you struggled to forgive in your marriage? Do you wish you could forgive and move on, but you don’t know how?
When two people live together in an intimate relationship, there are always going to be things that happen to cause hurt feelings and anger. These things may range from minor incidents involving slights and lack of consideration to major ones such as sexual betrayal.
It’s all-too-easy to develop the habit of repeatedly replaying all the wrongs a spouse has committed and then to start feeling victimized. Resentment, blame, anger, and bitterness are heavy burdens that hold us back, weight us down, and keep us stuck in a view of ourselves as victims.
Forgiving a spouse does not mean that you avoid or repress your feelings. On the contrary, it’s important that you acknowledge your pain and loss so that you can express your feelings, get them out into the light of day, and let them run a natural, healing course.
“Certainly others are to blame for their mistakes,” write John Gray, “but they are not to blame for our feelings. To forgive is to release another from being responsible for how we feel. By finding forgiveness, we are then free to let go of our pain. Although it is true that our partner may make us feel upset, we must also recognize that we have the power to let go of our pain.”
Gray also states, “By feeling gratitude for the good times and forgiveness for the mistakes, the heart is filled with the love it needs to heal itself.” Viewed this way, forgiveness releases the toxins of resentment and blame and allows the heart to recover.
Each spouse faces the same choice: Do I hang on to my feelings of hurt and pain or do I forgive my partner? For some spouses, the decision to forgive is viewed as letting a partner off the hook and minimizing the damage the partner has done.
It’s as though they don’t want the partner to see them laughing and having fun because then the partner might not suffer as much emotionally. Thus, the reluctance to forgive can be a way of keeping control and making sure that the partner keeps feeling guilty and miserable over what has happened.
When you feel deeply hurt by your spouse’s words or actions, it takes time to recover from the wound. It’s important to clearly state your feelings to your spouse and to share just how much the words or actions have impacted you. It’s also important to consider whether the deed was one caused inadvertently by lack of awareness or lack of knowledge or if it was deliberate.
To forgive a spouse is not the same as minimizing hurtful or harmful behavior. It’s also not about pretending things are fine when they aren’t. The goal is not to flash a fake smile and say “That’s okay” when you’re feeling like you’ve been stabbed in the heart.
But there’s a major difference between feeling hurt and struggling to regroup for a few weeks or months versus still being consumed with anger, resentment, and bitterness a year later. The longer the wound festers, the worse it gets.
How Do You Know When It’s Time to Forgive?
The following statements may help you to recognize if you’re ready to forgive and let go:
You forgive when you have a stronger desire to move toward health, healing, and wholeness than you do to keep singing your “She did me wrong” or “Poor Me” theme songs.
You forgive when you are tired of being stuck in the emotional and spiritual desert of despair, anger, bitterness, revenge, and resentment.
You forgive when you realize that your negative emotions are destroying your sense of spiritual connection, your peace of mind, your health, and your ability to laugh, play, and enjoy life.
You forgive when you realize that not only are you suffering, but your resistance to forgiving your spouse is also causing anguish to your children and other family members.
You forgive when you realize that you are no longer able to live in the present moment and to be totally emotionally available when you are with your family members and friends because you are constantly thinking about the past.
You forgive when you want to move on with your life and restore peace and harmony to your marriage and life.
How Do You Forgive?
Forgiveness is a process. Mary Nurries Stearns writes, “We make the decision to forgive, again and again. Saying words of forgiveness is the first step. Reciting the words creates an opening and willingness, and moves us into a body, heart, mind, spirit process of remembering and releasing.” She continues:
“We begin by letting go of our unforgiving stance. We acknowledge the events and feelings that really happened. We admit that the past cannot be changed. However, through healing, we can leave those yesterdays in the past and create a better tomorrow.
“Realizing that forgiveness is our own personal journey, we release expectations that others will respond to our work, even though each person’s healing has positive rippling effects. While journaling, drawing, dancing, breathing, and talking, we face whatever our body, heart, spirit, and mind present next for our healing. Through these processes, we begin relating differently to our suffering.
“We don’t hold back. We gently swathe our pain with love. We allow thoughts and feelings to arise into awareness where they are recognized and permitted to pass on through. Setting aside sacred time daily, we pray and meditate on forgiveness, and we commune with the divine. And we trust—knowing that grace and a great wisdom are embracing our efforts.”
Some individuals feel a dramatic shift when they decide to forgive a spouse, and for others, forgiveness entails releasing anger and resentment in smaller bits over a longer time. But the important thing is to make a beginning before the weight of the negative feelings pulls you under. Make an appointment to talk to a minister or a counselor if you are stuck and can’t move forward.
When you forgive, you open a door that was not open before. This door leads to a field of possibilities for a new kind of relationship with your spouse.
Regardless of how your partner reacts, you are changed by the act of releasing and forgiving. You are holding your spouse in a different kind of heart space—a space where anything is possible, where relationships can be transformed and where love can reveal itself in unexpected new ways. -

What Does Vision Have to do With Creating Confidence?
Thu, December 27, 2007 - 10:26 AMIt can be difficult to translate our insight and inspiration into reality, to take our joy and sustain it once we are out in the world, to be who we really are once we are out of the comfort zone and into action.
It is one thing to say we feel comfortable with whom we are and another thing to actually live that way.
It is one thing to say we don’t care what other people think and another thing to act like it.
In order to be successful in developing our confidence, then, we must step back from our very real experience of anxiety, to realize that it is a manifestation of our old beliefs – habitual reactions ingrained in the body and mind.
And then seek ways in which we can continue to pursue the realization our new beliefs until our experience-creating, bodily habits begin to catch up.
So now, if you are feeling inspired to bring your full self into the world, but continue to feel nervous about doing it, then I strongly encourage you to remember that your experience may take time to catch up and that success and confidence are still yours – even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.
So what can we use to support our efforts as we take this journey to total confidence?
Vision is one tool that we can use to bolster our resolve and strength when our reality has not yet caught up with our desires, when anxiety comes despite our commitment to feel comfortable with whom we are.
And how specifically can we can develop our vision and use it to strengthen our ability to develop our confidence?
~Vision~
The first step in using vision to develop our confidence is to ask: “What do I want? What kind of experience do I want to create?”
Begin by charting out your dreams.
What are your dreams?
There are two tricks here.
First, do not let the *how* get in your way. You may not know how to get where you want to go. You may not even believe that it is possible. But just begin to explore what you dream of – without judgments or assessments. Give yourself the gift of some free exploration.
You can learn more about *how* to create what you want later. The most important thing for now is to give yourself permission to search your dreams!
The second trick here is for you to get as specific as you can.
If you say you want confidence, what does your experience of confidence look like? Feel like? Sound like?
If confidence had a smell, what would it smell like?
The more details you can fill in, the easier it will be to create.
If you are like most of us, you know very well what you *don’t* want. You don’t want to feel anxiety. You don’t want to stumble on your words. You don’t want to look bad in front of others.
But we can’t really get what we want if we only know what we DON’T want.
Look at it this way. What comes to mind when I say, “Don’t think about pink flowers!”
What did you think about?
Pink flowers, right?
Our brains don’t register the “don’t think” part. Our brain goes right to the vibrant image of fresh, fragrant pink flowers.
So if you want to experience confidence, then get very familiar with what you do want.
Don’t waste any more time on what you don’t want. It’ll only expand your experience of it.
So now, when you go into action in the world, when you begin to interact with others and you begin to sense the feeling of fear or anxiety bubbling up inside of you, you can think to yourself, “What do I want?” You can call up the experience of what you want – rich with details. And see if you can recall the specific description and experience that you have articulated above.
In the beginning, you may only be able to do this for seconds at a time. But keep trying. You will find a tipping point of sorts where your experience of confidence will begin to gain an edge on your experience of fear. When your new beliefs will begin to become the habit of your brain and body.
And ah! What a beautiful day that will be! -

THIS WEEKS AFFIRMATIONS....
Fri, February 15, 2008 - 8:15 AMI am pure love. Love is my essence, it is what arises from me and what is drawn to me. I live in eternity and am protected.
Ancient Wisdom of the Breath
From Donald D. Forsyth and Vijay A. Basdeo
Power and Mystery of Breathing
You can live for weeks without food, days without water, but how long can you last without your breath? What would you do without your breath? What do you know about the relationship of your breath to your health, not just your physical health, but your mental and emotional health?
There are mysterious powers associated with the breath that remain mostly unheard of in western civilization. The yogis of India developed a science around certain breathing techniques that, applied methodically over a period of time, would give specific results. They called this particular science pranayama. Prana is the vital force that creates various currents of energy in the body that control many of the unconscious functions that allow the maintenance of the physical body. It regulates the circulation of blood, digests food, affects moods, levels of stress, and these are only a few of the obvious things that are affected by the breath.
There are powers that range from reducing the heart rate to enabling the body to smash through concrete bricks, from purifying the subtle body of impurities to healing deep emotional traumas.
The breath contains many secrets that have been explored by various cultures like the Taoists who found many healing methods, which helped lay the foundation of healing arts like acupuncture. The Taoists, like the yogis of India, discovered the existence of subtle meridians that exist on an energetic level and have an intricate and profound influence on the functions of the physical, emotional and mental health of a person. Reiki also works on a subtle level. When one lays their hands on another person as an open channel of healing, energy there is connected at the subtle level, which allows the healing of many afflictions. There is yet another powerful use of the breath, which contributes more specifically to the healing of the emotional body. This method enables a person to release the locked up emotional traumas that have been repressed by us, so that they stop influencing us from an unconscious level of our awareness.
This method of using the breath for healing deep emotional pain and trauma from our subtle body is called rebirthing. Rebirthing or conscious breath work is a very effective method of opening our awareness to the many influences that have been hidden from our normal consciousness. Much of our decision making happens in an instant. What most people don’t realize is that the output of information for that snap decision has gone through the unconscious supercomputer before offering up its result. If the unconscious software is infected with a virus of deep emotional trauma, conflicted emotion and emotions we are in denial about, the decisions can be self-destructive, limiting and contribute to a cycle of creating more pain.
Rebirthing: Conscious Breathing
Rebirthing/conscious breathing is a process that uses the breath under the guidance of a skilled breath practitioner. This process allows for the personal exploration into the unconscious emotional software and energies that are influencing you in ways that undermine your full potential. Many people are in denial about the nature of their inner emotional matrix and have an aversion to delving into what they think may be a heart of darkness. Some people are in denial about the fact that any inner problem may exist. Even if no deep emotional experiences stand out in your awareness because they are made invisible by the veiling power of denial, let me assure you they do exist. They exist from events in this life and they exist from past lives as well, influencing you in this life because they are closely linked to the karma of this incarnation. They have to be taken out of the darkness of your unconscious mind and emotional matrix and brought into your awareness, so you can release the pain and understand the causes of how this pain was influencing your life from that hidden place inside.
Many people want to feel love inside but instead feel numb. The reason for this numbness is because of denial and the many layers of past emotional experiences that block our access to the love within us. We are all worthy of love and long to experience the depths of love we intuitively know exist within. The problem is that until we delve into the emotional matrix and release from our subtle body the toxic emotions, traumas, pain, fear and denial, we will never get to the love. It is the entrance into the underworld of mythology in which the hero must enter if he is ever to regain the light of his tormented soul. It is our birthright to live life to our fullest potential, with a deep love and connected-ness to all living things, especially to each other.
This holistic approach to healing our inner wounds and getting in touch with the love that is the natural state of our own inner being is the greatest gift one can give to themselves. You just have to love yourself enough to believe you are worth it. It is the shortest path to lasting personal growth and because of the experiential nature of rebirthing it is very important to have a professional practitioner to guide you.
Using one’s own breath in a guided and controlled rhythm begins the process where a person begins to slow down the incessant chatter of the mind with its ceaseless array of thoughts. Over a period of several minutes, you become aware of many details, memories of certain events that have happened to you, the way you feel about a current situation, the physical sensations of your body and a deeper connection with yourself in that moment.
Somewhere in this process, a very mysterious event happens.
You begin to experience yourself as a multi-dimensional being. The dissolution of negative and limiting thoughts and feelings that are held in the subconscious begins. These form patterns of behavior that create in our lives situations that we certainly do not desire, but may feel helpless about changing. These patterns are brought to the surface through the breath and the guidance of a skilled practitioner. As this process continues both the patterns and the emotional scars of past traumas are released. As the toxic emotions are expelled from our system our perception of ourselves and the world begins to be transformed.
You are not just this person, always thinking, planning, and making observations. You are also a feeling person, with emotions and with physical sensations deep within the body. This is where the real alchemy of the breath begins to manifest. In this amazing process of guided breathing, you begin to become aware of your total presence. You are triggered into being fully alert, alive, aware of your body, feelings and senses. You are conscious of the total physicality of your being as well as levels of emotion and feelings that can no longer be locked in or repressed, they now demand a release. And the release happens. Naturally and deeply, on a physical and cellular level.
After the completion of the breath cycle, the body rests, and a feeling of deep relaxation and peace is experienced. The calm and serenity that can be felt afterwards, is likened to that inner state meditation can draw us into. A sense of being at-one with oneself, with one’s life and with the world at large. This is the state of no worry, and no thought, full of peace and serenity and unlimited potential. We rest in the expanded inner space that reflects a harmony of mind, body and spirit.
