Motumba e Axe grupo!
it can be hard to be the minority of orixa worshippers in the u.s.a ;-) so i'm interested in forming something similar to a meetup group for candomble adherents in the area. i'm an aborixa, not an iyalorixa, so this is not an ile but more of a study and social group so that those of us in new york (and surrounding area) can get to know each other and support one another.
it can be for simple things like studying/bettering our portuguese together, or orixa related things like cooking or sharing/gathering information on our specific orixas, but not things we should be learning with our iya/babalorixa like jogo de buzios, etc...
if any here are interested in being a part of such a group, feel free to either respond here or to pm me through the tribe.

That's how a l;ot of stuff started in the Bay area and in Chicago. Now the Bay Area holds an annual Xire, each year for a different Orisa and interested people, plus initiates of different Candomble Iles meet regularly!

is terrible that we missed out on having you :-(
we had a simple meet and greet, and talked about what the goals of our group should be. possible workshops, and reaching out to find more candomblecistas in the area. we're going to be meeting twice a month, so we'll keep you updated!
