Okay, so this is just a teaser since I am swamped as I get ready to leave for the Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive where I am performing this year, finally!
I'll be making the official annoucement when I return from my trip, but you all can know early that the Casbah Lounge is being split into two separate shows. I just cannot accomodate all the dancers! Last month I had 23 different dance acts and the show was just way too long, plus I still had five acts on the waiting list. I don't know how to limit the lineup without leaving out so many terrific dancers.
So . . . November 6th will be a new sister show "Rak of Ages" at Annabelle's Chocolate Lounge.
As of now, I'll be asking for volunteers to move to this new night and new event since I currently have 26 dancer acts for the Casbah Lounge show December 5th.
"Rak of Ages" is an all ages "private" hafla event. So, bring your families and friends!
The "Casbah Lounge, Evening of Middle Eastern Dance" is 21 and over only. This must be strictly enforced from now on or we run the risk of losing this venue. If you want your kids to see you dance, please join Rak of Ages.
I'll give more details soon, but both shows will remain free events.

Re: Two, yes, Two Shows!
Thu, September 10, 2009 - 10:23 AMThis is a great idea! I can't do both Nov and December, will just stick with Casbah. But for the future the family event would be fun, then my friends/family with kids could come watch. -

Re: Two, yes, Two Shows!
Wed, September 16, 2009 - 9:19 PMAbsolutely! I know this time around it is short notice and I will need to work out the kinks, but I think the invention of two shows will eventually be a good plan.
And, yes, there is still alcohol sold at Rak of Ages. As a private event, it is more like a no host bar at a wedding. :-)
