Good one Aeon. It was by going to the woods and letting go of preconcieved notions that had been driven into me by men that I really began to learn things. Journeying too, and visitations. the woods of the Northwest, and particulalry Alaska were very instrumental in bringing me up close and personal with Elves.
Much of the folklore diminutivizes Elves. Or it's just downright silly. We have to dig up the true history as well as make confirmations in our own spirit. there is no better place than old growth forests that still retain the primal aura and are relatively free of both physical and psychic pollutions....
