Well, I guess this will be my introduction.
I'm not human. I've never been human. I can't be. I identify with elves more than any other species and, although I live among humans, I've never truly adapted to their world, their ways. I find them selfish, primitive and hypocritical - most possessing absolutely no empathy whatsoever, no ability to put themselves into the shoes of another. Even those who claim to do so. sigh
Always have I searched for a more evolved species, one with empathy for all. Although I haven't read through all the posts here, I've read a few, responded to one and hope my response does not disqualify me from this group, as I feel that this may be a wonderful place for me.
That said, I have a a few odd questions.
1. Have any of you heard about shadow beings and, if so, what is your take on it? Leftsovers from Mordor? Both my mom and I have experienced these horrifying beings in the past, and I'm curious to know what you think of such things.
2. Trees....I had a bad experience when I was a child. This happened only once but my fear has remained to this day. I was 5 or 6. It was just getting dark....I'll keep this short. There was a face in the tree by my neighbors house and it seemed to growl at me. Never happened after that one time, but it's stayed with me all these years. Any ideas on what it could have been? Angry ent? Evil tree spirit?
Anyway, I hope my odd little intro hasn't scared you off....tends to happen with most human folk. Nice to meet you anyway.

Shadow beings: the most generic definition I can give is that they are negative entities/evil spirits. From there they can be grouped into different categories, including (I suppose) remnants of Mordor.
As for the Trees I had a similar experience also right at dusk. I saw green "beings" emerge from the trees as I was walking through the woods. they looked like glowing flourescent green auras that bent out of the trees as I passed. I was spooked but I didn't see any actual faces. In your case it could have been a spirit in the tree, or maybe the Tree was upset because humans were cutting trees in the area? Hard to say what it was but I do know what the experience is like! -
