HI Everyone -
I'm kind of at the end of my rope here and at a loss for answers. I have a vet appointment scheduled for tomorrow and then realized "I bet I can find a Tribe on CATS!" So, I'd love to see if anyone can give advice.
Ever since I moved to a new place my adorable 5 year old kitty has been peeing outside the littler box. Luckily, she's stayed off of wall to wall carpet, but she has picked a new couch and bedspread to mark. I've washed and replaced couch cushions and bedspread numerous times. I've used Urine Off spray (which I think is great) to neutralize urine enzymes. I've used Feliway and Buspirone medication. There have been numerous vet visits - never has there been any urinary infection or bladder issues.
My cats sleep on my bed every night - they are happy, well fed, leave me kitty toys and lov e ach other. The vets figured the urination problem was due to stress: being in a new place, anxious when I'm gone. This morning, I awoke to scratching, as my kitty had urinated on my bedspread, while I was in the bed! This is super distressing, because there's been no anxiety and I was iright there when it happened.
I don't understand her actions and I don't know how to break the pattern - she's fine and then, out of the blue this happens.
It's hard for me to imagine that she may need a different home environment, but this has been happening for a year. I've tried everything I know and I've owned cats all my life.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
