I started when I was 12, also with knitting needles, I did notknow what it was call till about three years ago when I first bought a sounding set.. I do enjoy my sounds I also play with a catherer once.

Glad to hear about guys being just as curious about sticking things in their holes as I was at that age.

Sounds fascinate and arouse me, ever since I first saw them at Leather Masters when I was 18 and just emerging onto the scene. I was an assistant to a Pro Domme who used a catheter as part of an elaborate medical scene (4 days long!). I was her naughty nurse but so far have not indulged since.

I think many men are frightened of the experience. Is it the social ramifications of being penetrated? Fear of being hurt?

I bought stainless steel rods from speedymetals dot com. They come VERY rough and sharp on the ends. I used a hand held grinder to round the tips off and then polished with emery cloth 600 grit and worked my way to 1200grit, 1800 grit and finished with 2000 grit. My 1/4" sound is shiny as a mirror and smooth as silk. I am only using the 1/4" diameter rod right now. It's 8" long.

I always boil the sound for 15 minutes first and place on freshly laundered towels before use. Always wash my cock and hands in anti-bacterial soap first. I've been sounding this way for 6 months and no problems.

Would like to move up to a 5/16" rod and then a 3/8" rod.

my goal is to get my whole index finger in. I would like to buy some sounds, but don't know what size to order.
