Berkeley filmmaker visiting Portland

PDX literati, poets, cinephiles, mediamakers:

On Feb. 24th, the Hollywood Theatre will present the Portland premiere of my new feature, "The Greater Circulation", a cinematic treatment of Rainer Maria Rilke's "Requiem for a Friend" and I'm trying to figure out ways to get the word out to the underground.

Besides tribe.net and craig's list, are there any other e-lists or posting places that you know of to help promote this type of event ? Any film reviewers out there who write for the Mercury interested in a preview dvd ?

here's a link to the movie site which has a review, clip, pix, etc.

any and all help greatly appreciated.

truly,

You might want to contact the local reviewers directly - Sean Levy at the Oregonian, and the critics and arts editors at Willamette Week and the Mercury. I assume the HOLLYWOOD has some kind of email list - do they have anyone there who deals with publicity?

thanks david for your response. i have contacted the local print media and hollywood theatre has a good pr-base for their screenings. since i am promoting an art film with high literary content, i am also looking for poetry circles and wherever the poet Rilke is known and appreciated.

My films always delve into the dream lives of their characters and in this story, Rilke has two very wild dreams that scare the living daylights back into him and help him finish his "Requiem". If you appreciate poetry in general and Rilke in particular, you will probably really enjoy this film. If you like your movies straight up with car chases, plenty of skin and rotting corpses, this film will probably bore you to tears. It's an art film fer crissakes....and I hope you come see the Portland premiere, friday feb. 24th at 9pm at the Hollywood Theatre . - sherpa (aka antero alli)
