Hi all - I'm doing my documentary workshop again - four Mondays in April. PLEASE Pass on to anyone who might be interested.

NW Documentary Arts & Media, hosted by Portland Art Center, presents:

"PRODUCING A FEATURE DOCUMENTARY: A first-hand perspective from filmmaker DAVID WEISSMAN."

Join award-winning filmmaker David Weissman, producer and co-director of THECOCKETTES, for a 4-part behind-the-scenes look at documentary production.Using THE COCKETTES as a case study, the workshop will follow a documentary from inception to theatrical release and international sales, covering such topics as: research, fundraising, proposal writing, budgeting, legal and business issues, production organizing, interviewing techniques, archival materials, music licensing, festival strategy, PR, distribution, and more!

Open to anyone: from Sundance-aspiring filmmakers to documentary fans and counterculture aficionados!

THE COCKETTES, a feature length documentary about San Francisco's legendary theatrical troupe of hippies and drag queens, received the LA Film Critics Award for Best Documentary of 2002.
