    VX2000, Sony, but I would like to have a solid tripod...with a fluid head, I was using a SLICK U212 and it fell apart on me....
    I need an upgrade..
    I found a few on eBay but would think there is one place here in town that sells better then your average handicam tripods...
    
    any leads?

        The camera systems are getting better, so be careful before you try to smuggle one out in your pants. Previous "safe zones" might now be covered.

      I'd look for the "heavy duty" tripods at Wal-Mart or target, or maybe Fry's. I suppose there might be a place such as Hollywood Lights on McLoughlin that might sell you tripods for more.
      
      Most every camera store has a line on tripods as well, although I've often found ordering directly from, say, B&H, is pretty cheap.

            Um yeah, digging around town, thats what Ive been doing and havent found anyone with anything beyond the rinky dinky single support systems....
            B&H is what I need....though the comparable models are on eBay for a bit less....

              I just noticed that Camera World is running a full page ad in today's Oregonian, including tripods and heads, so you might want to do a quick price comparision between them and B&H before you order.
