Has anyone seen the documentary "the secret"? A documentary on manifestation from the physics laws of attraction, (and vibration). It blew me away. I was anticipating another inspirational, "You can change your life" deal. A friend and I watched it expecting it to be a bit cheesy and over done. We were humbly silenced. Wow, was I confronted with some reality. It kicked my ass, and shut me up!
I noticed so many compatibilities to the "Secret of Shambhala'"s teachings. There were so many of the same messages with holding on to the energy and focusing on our thoughts. All of the concepts of our thoughts being a constant prayer streaming out from us and telling the universe what to send our way next. They seemed reiterated for me so clearly in "the Secret". Really explained from a physics perspective as to why it all works the way it does. The two seem totally complimentary.
I recently finished "Secret of Shambhala" and now just saw "the Secret" The messages are so clear, I really intend to listen and take it to heart this time. OH, this time. My life could sure use me living this knowledge.

Re: "the secret"
Wed, September 20, 2006 - 10:12 PMI watch bits of it every week as part of my spiritual maintenance.
I just got home from a prayer circle tonight for a friend who is winning the war against lung cancer that spread to her brain. It came to me whilst I was in the circle that am going to be dropping my copy of The Secret at her doorstep in the morning, along with my "bible" on vegetarian meals.
So here I am, just arrived home, getting ready to order another copy for me, and I happen upon this discussion.
Blessed Be. -

Re: "the secret"
Tue, February 20, 2007 - 3:14 AMi dont doubt that there is some truth to the secret but the way that they approached the "secret" came from a place of total ego gratification. which though they say its not about fear... but the way they deal with fear... just perpetuates it... its a way of relating that is IMHO self centered.
i think it grabs us ( admitedly it did me at first) because it pulls off of our fear of scarcity of not haveing what we need and not being able to relate to events in our lives from a selfless perspective. it drives from this, and i think in the long run prevents the selfless perspective. the entire time i watched the secret all i could think of is the god bardo in tibetian buddhism, and its lessons on krama.
the movie the secret is powerfull but at the same time deceptive... its not like a faustian deal with the devil is much more sublte then that its a fuastian deal with your own fear...
oh Im LLB by the way. glad dto be here... just got done reading the 10th... lots to talk about actualy.
blessings

Re: "the secret"
Wed, February 21, 2007 - 5:17 PMi am so glad that the Law of Attraction manifest its message into your Life at this time shereen. despite any resistances that you may or may not hear from others, remember that you know what Truth is right for you in each Blessed moment.
i am not a follower, per se, of "the secret" as this knowledge has been in our reach for a long long time. (my first glimpse was lynn grabhorn's "excuse me your Life is waiting!" many years ago).
i do abide by the Laws of the Universe with a full and humbled Heart, though, and am thrilled that the message of the Law of Attraction is pervading the masses in the form of "the secret".
just like the "what the bleep" movie, it told me what i already knew but planted millions of seeds in others.
a reminder for so many, it is All good, fo real!
some messages need be put in simpler terms for the sleepy ones to grasp it.
it is ok.
"the secret" spits the message of awakening well!
: )
shift is certainly on the horizon and Blessed Be! -

here is a link that may Be of service
tribes.tribe.net/the_secre...5771d9ca66
it will lead one to read lots of different perceptions on this topic and decipher, individually, how they will choose to perceive it.
basically, negatively or positively?
and to the tribe, in general, for those interested in sharing, with others, the excitement of mass awakening and Hope and Love and Abundance and Joy...
kinda like we can do here : )

after All, we are in this together whether or not we acknowledge it...

Re: "the secret"
Sun, February 25, 2007 - 1:06 AMWow Satya,
Your wisdom continues to touch my life...
I read "excuse me your life is waiting" And it changed my perspective, but didn't quite sink in all the way. I actually have been reading books related to the Law of Attraction my whole life, but didn't call it that. I even was offering workshops years ago on classroom management/positive discipline that used so many similar concepts, like what behaviors a teacher focused on in children she/he'd get more of, but I didn't understand how it applied to everything at that time.
For me "the Secret" sunk in, all the way in. Maybe it pins me as a child of the 70's and 80's who can only be reached by the type of media that comes with a sound track. I dunno. Maybe I was finally ready to accept it. Or maybe it was an accumulation of all the angles I'd come across the Law of Attraction, and the movie being a crucial piece of the puzzle, finally revealing a larger picture to me. Whatever it was though, it finally sank in.
And thanks for the links, I should have known there'd be a secret tribe by now. Awesome.

Re: "the secret"
Thu, April 26, 2007 - 3:57 PMAn interesting thing happened the other day. I was out with a friend and she picked up a guy and we were heading back to another bar to find a guy I had met there. He wasn't there. The guy that had come along mentioned that we hadn't "willed" it to be enough, we didn't want it to happen enough so it didn't happen. My friend replied, "Or God has decided NOW isn't the right time." I thought about it and both were right. I knew I'm not in a place to be meeting someone knew and I hadn't "willed" it with much intent. So who is more right? Are they both right? Are they both wrong? I have decided it's all so personal and it's up to each of us to decide what is right and what is wrong but not for any of us to tell anyone else how to interperet reality which too is all so personal....
