We'd like to know if there are any ordained Pagan clergy in the area. We don't have a date or anything set yet, but we'll keep you posted on that. For now, we're just checking our options. Thanks!

I am planning on attending and hope the rest of the community will too. I think it is a good start. There is another group in the area, but seems to switch between metaphysics, goddess, witch, and whatevers. I hope to keep a solid pagan community instead of a mish mosh, although it is nice to share, it is nice to not have a lot of chaos... but that's just little ol me.

It occured to me one day as I strolled down a sunny street in Modesto, that our Pagan community is strong and mighty, albeit small. I had this same thought when I went into Mood Swings on the Avenue in Stockton and saw quite a few people in side browsing, buying, and chatting it up with the shopkeeps. There ARE Pagans and Witches in the Valley, but you don't see them often enough. But now things are changing...Stockton finally has a metaphysical store (this first in I don't know how many years), Modesto just opened a new one too, not too far from where I work, the Stanislaus Pagan Pride event was very large this year, and I've met so many Pagans from the area it's making my head spin...even a mom who's child goes to the school I once taught at! (Caught her at the Spiral Dance last year...very trippy!)
So, I decided to finally create a tribe just for us: the up-and-coming-was-already-here-but-didn't-know-it Pagan community of the Central/San Joaquin Valley area. Here we'll talk and get connected on all kinds of topics, anything you want to discuss we'll discuss. This is a rich area, lots of history and culture, not to mention the most fertile agriculutral area in the western US! So let's revel in the history and connect with the land, our past, our present, our future together. Whether we be homegrown or transplanted, anyone living in the 209 area code, or anywhere in between Sac and Fresno (Tracy too!), or just know of this area are welcome.

Let's begin.

Not just any land, OUR land. Have you looked out on the fields lately? I drive by them almost every day on the 99, and they've been covered in mist in the mornings....really beautiful. What about when you walk in the park? Do you like where you are? Where you live? Where you are in your lives? I know I've been struggling with this a lot myself. It's very dry in my neighborhood, not a lot of greenery. But I find solace in my backyard, where everything's shaded :)
It'll be winter soon, the fog will be rolling in. With that massive pile-up in Fresno still fresh on our minds, we ask ourselves, "how can be be safe in the coming months? How can we not let the land deceive us?"
