Fr.A.o.C. announced his charter on alt.magick in 2003. His old email is maxx@slip.net
I don't think any of the regulars took him particuarly seriously. I commented:
"A methodical, disciplined manner is useful.
Making assumptions that the universe works like a computer is not
useful.
Basing an 'updated' magical system on the hoary dinosaur of Golden
Dawn, equating modules with the badly spackled together system is
ludicrous. "

Wed, September 19, 2007 - 7:24 AMI suggest learning different systems, including GD, and then developing your own style, just as an artist will study different forms in order to bring out hir own style.

Tue, September 18, 2007 - 5:55 PMWell I have checked it out and am still reseaching it, so if I have any questions, I will contact. But first lets get you in the next. I do have a questions. Did u choose The Open Source over all other ones that work with the GD system and why? -

Re: Open Source
Tue, September 18, 2007 - 8:31 PMit's a joke. dischordianism was primary presented by the computer community. I associate the term open source with that. I did not mean to be rude, merely humorous. -

Fri, September 21, 2007 - 3:29 PMI suggest you pursue it. There is an individual path for everyone. People will obviously feel they have chosen the right one for them. Some will feel that have chosen the right one for everyone. Follow what you Will.. I wish you the best on finding a good lineage of the GD, I mean that most sincerely. -

Re: Open Source
Sat, September 22, 2007 - 8:38 AMThe Open Source Order of the Golden Dawn may be a well thought out school, but it's NOT traditional Golden Dawn. Please be aware of this. The OSOGD has changed the system according to their own style and personal findings. This is neither bad or good, there are points of view that argue both. However one thing is for certain that it is NOT the tradition brought forth by Mathers and Westcott, and it does NOT have a Rosicrucian Second Order. The OSOGD is NOT the material you will find in Regardies book, it's a new system that draws material from that book, that draws material from Aleister Crowley's Thelemic current, that draws findings from it's own founders, and draws material from other sources.
Calling it the Golden Dawn is actually a bit misleading, but as long as you know it's not the tradition, then you are more empowered to make a better choice. But then again the term "Yoga" has become all encompassing. We have streams of very traditional yogas based on thousands of years of practice and teachings, and then we have new yogas based on what people today have put together. Buyer Beware.
If you want to study the Golden Dawn as put forth by Mathers and Westcott and supported by the Rosicrucian Current, then I recommend the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn, or the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in Florida run by Chic and Tabatha Cicero, or the Order of the Golden Dawn run by Pat Zalewski located in Toronto.
If you are interested in traditional Theurgy and open to Orders that are not Golden Dawn, there is the Ordo Sanctus Gnosis, also called the Sophia Fellowship, overseen by Tau Malachi in Northern California (fricken AMAZING teachings that are in complete alignment with the Traditional Golden Dawn); and there are the Martinist Orders as well.
My suggestion is to get on your knees and sincerely ask, pray daily, that your Higher Genius lead you to where you need to go and that you are graced with the right signs to follow, signs that will appear in the flow of synchronicity rather than gathering people's different opinions. And then watch for those signs, cause if you really really really want them, NEED them cause your Soul longs for Gnosis, then God will provide. The bottom line here is that you find an Order that satisfies what your soul longs for, and only YOU can discover that, no matter how "good" people say their Order is. This isn't an intellectual decision based in your mind, this is entirely a choice that absolutely and totally matters with what sits right with your heart and what feels good in your gut. PLEASE be aware of this!
Much Love, Light, and Blessings on your journey brother. -

Re: Open Source
Thu, October 4, 2007 - 8:08 PMThe Open Source Order of the Golden Dawn is better than most out there. I'm not a member, but I''ve done enough research on em. They take the new and integrate it with the old... thus making it a living tradition. Discordianism or chaos theory is associated with the order... chaos in order, order in chaos. Spirit above the letter of the law. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
