Tue, April 1, 2008 - 12:03 PMthis is a huge subject...there is a wide variety of them because most deities and heroes are the projection of each culture's masculine or feminine ideal...with heavy emphasis on the masculine.
I tend to like the ones that don't just go around killing everything and breaking things.
The one that I like each moment depends on which qualities I am trying to cultivate in myself,
but mostly I am attracted to the gods of consciousness exploration...
like Odhin
he is a great masculine deity because he is complex enough to not be a caricature and perpetually seeking initiation into new levels
