Confessionis, Lamentations, and the Rite of Lilith are included in the Apocrypha of Lilith.

Erotic cults such as the Vāma-Kālī sect of Tantra, the Carpocratians, Black Madonna, Catholic cults devoted to the Magdalene and Virgin, worshippers of Lilith uncover the most carnal dimensions of ritualized sex. Mankind condemns Lilith by trying to define Her. She is damned and worshipped in print and song. The Legend of Lilith evolves from diverse religious and cultural memes. We first encounter the Lilith mythos in the Alphabet of Ben Sira, the Zohar, and in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Lilith is a primal effigy in ancient religion, and experiences evolutions from archaic goddess to colourless ghost and desert terror.

In the philosophy of the Hebrew Qabalah, Lilith corresponds to the daemon of Malchut in the Qlifot {the World of Shells, or husks). Pertaining to Qabalah every world is a husk of the world above and below. The Qlifot are shells of the dead worlds, and by conquering the fear of the Mystery of Death, the Initiate attains to the Vision of the Wrathful Maiden. Lilith is the arcane archetype of sexual dominance and the fear of Death, the archetypal primacy of Lilith annihilates litanies of inhibitions in the human psyche. Etymological origins of Lilith independent of Jehovian-Semitic templates point to the Sumero-Babylonian Lilû, which translates to ‘a demon equivalent to a male vampire.’ Derived from Sumerian, Lila refers to ‘wind,’ or ‘storm.’ Opting for an Akkadian translation, I suggest Lalu, also Lulu as ‘lecherous,’ and ‘wandering.’

From the Akkadian Lilitû and her Sumero-Babylonian compliments, Ardat-Lili, Idlu-Lili, and Lamaştû, derives the Semitic LYLYT {Lilith}. The Lilitû primarily feasted upon women and children, referred to by the terrified inhabitants of Ur and Babylon as night-ghosts that roamed the deserts away from populace. Pictographs from 800 B.C. to 500 B.C. Babylonia depict “Lilith” in the company of snakes and other abominable animals, keeping with themes of her malevolence in Babylonian pottery, Persian and Jewish amulets and in the Qumran scrolls. The night-ghosts here evolved into the Jehovian mythopoeia seeping into the Christian paradigms of diabolatry. Isaiah 34; xiv in the Vulgate refers to “he-goats,” “hairy monsters,” again carried over from Judaic paradigm. The Vulgate reads; “Et occurrent daemonia onocentauris, et pilosus clamabit alter ad alterum; ibi cubauit lamia, et inuenit sibi requiem.” Isaiah 34; xiv-xv refers to Lilith as the ‘Screech Owl.’ The Serpent in the form of Lilith initiated Mankind, the true Beast with seduction and dark eroticism by providing the forbidden fruit of death to Eve, her female concubine. In her secret initiations with Eve, appearing to Her as a Serpent, Lilith took up the cloak of the primal seductress. Through Eve, Lilith taught Mankind forbidden paths of the Black and Red Serpent ~ of Lust and Love.

The Rite of Lilith is a Tantric and magical ceremony of Chthonic working, as the true archetype of Lilith is sex and death. Lilith is embodied by metaphysical and mystical origins of diverse ancient cultures. Adored and feared by mortals as the Sumerian Lilitu {also the Hand of Inanna}, Babylonian Lamashtû {Daughter of Anu}, Akkadian Ardat-lili, the Hellenistic Hecate, or the Hindu Kali, it is black Lilith whom enshrouds over our eyes the Veil of Death. She is the personification of the Scarlet Woman. Those who transcend psychosexual modes of deviance, and overcome religious memes will breed new paradigms, and a new race, a new psychology, a new code of genetics completely unknown to contemporary Man. Her womb produces only those whose veins retain Her Imperial blood…and hidden words. Man trembles at the thought of the Scarlet Woman as sexual rival. A true initiated Brother sees the Scarlet Woman with Heaven’s eye of blood.

Lilith, in all her mythic emulations, and cultural prototypes, is not here to ‘prune’ the sexual mania of Man. She is here to harvest it! In the seeds of sperm and ovum, the psychosexual and cultural lineage of Lilith retains Imperial Blood. The curse of Ophelia will be known to all Mankind. The Rite of Lilith presents to the reader a device to prospect unexplored, uncharted psychological and religious memes of the Goddess dominant. Lilith’s Rite is a chthonic reenactment of Sumerian and Akkadian mythos, designed to embed in the psyche memes equal to patrilineal religious pantheons, with the sacred feminine as Initiator and Fiat of Mankind’s “salvation.”

The Apocryphal Gospel of Phillip states, “If anyone becomes a child of the Bridal Chamber, he will receive the light. If anyone does not receive it while he is in these places, he will not be able to receive it in the other place. He who will receive the light cannot be seen, nor can he be held. And none can torment him while he dwells in the world. And furthermore, when he goes out of the world, already he has received the truth in images. The word has become the æon, for the æon has become for him the fullness. It is thus; it is revealed only to him. It is not hidden in the darkness and the night, but it is hidden in a perfect day and a holy light.”

{Gospel of Phillip 127}. The psychosexual prototypes and cultural memes of Lilith represent the Chapel Perilous {of the Grail Legend}, the darkness of the womb from whence Man physically and metaphysically emerges. Lilith is the “perfect day and holy light” hidden within the Nightside of Eden, the “darkness and the night” of the bridal chamber. To enter the holy bridal chamber, one must first pass through the nightside brothels of Lilith and Her kin.

Lilith’s Rite functions as an ingress of psychosexual archetypes imbued within Mankind’s consciousness and genetics since the dawn of religion. Religion is latent within the human genetic code. As the initiate progresses through the monologues of the Rite of Lilith, interpolation of archetypes of Lilith emulated throughout the history of ancient cultures {such as Sumerian, Babylonian, and Mesopotamian} occurs within the initiate’s consciousness. The ritualist primes the psyche for an atavistic resurgence of psychosexual prototypes. In essence the Rite of Lilith functions as an atavistic indwelling of Lilith. Equally, the lunar archetype worshipped by the ancients is a gnosis explored by initiating into the dreaming nightside of Lilith/Lilitu. The Rite represents the embrace of instinct, uniting will with causal affect.

The ritualist seeks Lilith through the wilderness and desert isolation, in the caves of primeval darkness and the burial tombs of those dead but dreaming, her forbidden fruits and hidden words are invoked into the ritual garden. The Elder Gods which have traversed the earth since time immemorial, even heed the wisdom of Lilith, for She retains the unbroken darkness of the Abyss and therein its secrets and infinite possibilities. Her reputation has taken on the epitome of the “dark side” of the sacred feminine. The usual precedent when a new religion supplants pagan animism or polytheism, is to invert the previous religion’s deities into antinomian “demons” as that side of their psyche becomes obscured.

While Lilitu has its etymological origins in ancient languages of the Arab world, the name Laylá comes from the word layl meaning “night.” Recall that Lilitu is associated with a night-ghost who roamed desolate places such as the desert. Night represents the Unmanifest. In the Arabian deserts, the night is a reality without boundaries: forms are dissolved, no sand dunes or camels or anything else visible, all is formless, nothing but darkness. This is direct symbolism of the unmanifested aspect of the Divine Nature, God as Unmanifest. Blackness absorbs all light, thus Lilith represents the unmanifest nature of reality, the unmanifest psyche hidden in the blackest depths of Man’s mind.

There are echoes that bear throughout the World’s shadows tales of times remote; tales, who carry the remnants of books long turned to dust, tales, which whisper cryptically of Eve and the Serpent. There are, born in each generation, Men and Women whom awake to memories and ordained knowledge told to them in nightmares. The echoes of Lilith’s hidden words and Her tales are gathered once more before the eyes of lost souls who speak the language of insanity and carnal Lust. Lost ‘mid Truth and Lie, there is a Secret that has no telling: we foreswear all oaths all sacraments to other Gods and Goddesses in Lilith’s name. Her Path is written in blood, blood fresh fallen from her womb, fallen to the opened hearts of mad crones and wrathful maidens, abused women, and downtrodden Brothers of the Holy Grail and the Red Serpent who look beyond both themselves and the Stars in heaven. With Lilith, that which is seen is not that which should be sought.

I Time

Lilith’s Rite must only be performed on the eve’ of the New Moon, or on Samhain {Halloween} night. Never at any other time. The Rite lasts three full days and nights.

II Preliminaries

Purification and consecration: Fast sunrise to sunset seven days and nights prior to Rite. Abstain from any and all sexual activity one full lunar cycle {about 29-30 days} prior to Rite, this is of the utmost importance to the Rite. Keep silent and do not speak one full day and night prior to Rite. Bath ritually at sunset and fast completely one full day prior to Rite.

III Formulate the Cross:

V Invocation of Lilith

Drink of the Chalice filled with Red Wine and consecrate the body according to ones will with the nectar of the gods, and with the Oil of Abramelin. Face the direction of Luna. Genuflect. At this point in the Rite one should immerse their thoughts into those of sexuality. One may commence auto-erotic working or sexual activity with partner.

Lilith scholars Amy Scerba, M.A., and Dr. Barbara Black Koltuv trace the mythological motif of Lilith through Sumerian, Hebrew, Assyrian, Babylonian, Akkadian, Canaanite, and Persian cultural memes. Dr. Siegmund Hurwitz's precious 1992 exegesis, entitled Lilith: the first Eve (Hurwitz © 1992 Daimon-Verlag) approaches the Lilith motif as a psychologo-religious case study.

Dr. Hurwitz examines Lilith legends and more importantly her cultural etymology from both a historical and psychological standpoint. The mythological motif of Lilith is a psychologo-
religious narrative that breaks the boundaries between the human and the holy. The multivalence of Lilith in ancient mythology compounds with syncretism in religious thought, and fractures the borders between linear time and sacred place. Lilith's motif must not be used in a pejorative or dismissive study, for diverse cultures have embedded Her character and story in faith.

Lineage

It seems like every mystical/esoteric school wants to claim some lineage dating back thousands of years, apparently to give it some legitimacy. What's with this? Are we supposed to believe that people today are incapable of figuring out magick? Are we to be ashamed of learning magick from outside sources? Or is it part of the "true religion" syndrome that seeks to present itself as more authoritative than the others? This mystery school to which I belong claims an unbroken lineage going back to King Solomon. As romantic an idea as that sounds, I have trouble believing it. From everything I can discern, it seems to me that they draw from the same three sources as almost every other modern esoteric school: Gurdjieff, Theosophy, and the Golden Dawn. So why try to obscure that by claiming you got those ideas from some ancient lineage? It's rather frustrating when you're trying to find spiritual growth and enlightenment, and you encounter so much ego and deception from the very people who are supposed to be helping you attain those things.

Leilah Publications, its affiliates & associates, friends, family & students, and the O.A.I. celebrate the life of Christopher S. Hyatt, Ph.D. who left this world and embarked on his journey to the "Undiscovered Country" on 9 February 2008.

Dr. Hyatt was Born July 12, 1943, in Chicago, IL to Leonard Miller and Bertha Freidman. At 17 he left High School, and joined the United States Navy. Later he obtained his GED during his military service, and upon separation from the navy, embarked upon his long and impressive academic journey. His academic career began at Los Angeles City College, where he studied accounting. He then obtained a BA degree from Cal State Los Angeles, an MA in Psychology from Cal State Los Angeles, an Advanced M.Ed from The University of Southern California, a Ph.D. in Psychology at Western University as well as another Ph.D. in human behavior from USIU. His specialty was in experimental and clinical psychology, and he practiced as a psychotherapist for many years and operated his own Freudian clinic in Southern California.

Dr. Hyatt was an accomplished, and sea worthy sailor, who once embarked upon a journey to sail around the world. He founded and led the 1st AIDS SAILATHON, which raised money for AIDS research by sailing from Long Beach, CA to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1993. He was best known as an accomplished writer; authoring over 70 books, including the very popular "Undoing Yourself" series, and in recent years had produced a series of instructional DVDs & audio CD lectures. His interest in the occult began in his early twenties. His desire to further pursue his studies in magick resulted in meeting Israel Regardie in the 1970s. Regardie introduced him to Reichian therapy, which he insisted Dr. Hyatt learn prior to any magickal pursuits. Regardie further instructed him in the magickal system of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

Dr. Hyatt's tireless efforts to conserve the legacy of Dr. Francis Israel Regardie and the Golden Dawn teachings led to the establishment of extended Golden Dawn lineages. He was the chief executive officer of the not-for-profit Israel Regardie Foundation that carried on Dr. Regardie's Golden Dawn tradition. Frater Hyatt's research and writing on the "occult" and "magic" led to the formation of the O.A..I. & its continuance. Dr. Hyatt illuminated numerous souls with his Mercy & Severity.

I was introduced to Dr. Hyatt in 2005 through Soror Inanna of the O.A.I. for an academic presentation with the American Academy of Religion, at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. It was a few years earlier that another Soror had corresponded with leading figures in the Western Mystery Tradition for advice on the O.A.I., among them Kenneth Grant and our dear Dr. Hyatt.

I was also fortunate enough to interview him on Illuminati Coast to Coast, and witness his kindness, wisdom, and generosity firsthand. Years before my meeting with him at Arizona State, I studied his "Undoing Yourself" series and conducted the rigorous exercises prescribed in his books, CDs, and DVDs. After he kindly granted me an interview I corresponded with him on and off privately, continuing his exercises and regimen. His Mercy and Severity were pillars that guided myself and thousands of other "Toxick" souls to "descend, then transcend." It was a honor to have known him and worked with him. Dr. Hyatt's generosity, his kindness, wit, and Zen-like antics will never be forgotten by those who cared for him. We miss him immensely.

Detailed rare information and experience about using the pentagram in ritual

There is no information on the net about the full suite of Pentagram rituals.

I intend to begin to correct this omission of vital information. I request members of this tribe to share their knowledge and experience. I will share mine as best I can.

Of the full variorum of pentagram rituals in the existing system, only one ritual has comprehensive instructions, reflections and guidance available online and off for its performance. This is referred to as the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, or "LBRP".

More accurately, this is the LBRP of Elemental Earth. The LBRPs of Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit are not fully described and reflected on. I don't doubt the experience exists; the knowledge just isn't publically available.

I find even less information on the invoking form of the rituals of the Pentagram. The Lesser Invoking Ritual of the Pentagram, aka the "LIRP", is seldom explored in any text, much less the family of versions: LIRP in Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit.

Why the unscientific lack of knowledge sharing? I know no reason to keep this stuff secret: do you?

My key questions here are pragmatic and safety-oriented:

- What results does each pentagram ritual have?
- How does each pentagram ritual vary from the other?
- What occasions suggest what pentagram ritual?
- What modern-scientific-neurological interpretations exist of the concept of the microcosmos which the pentagram symbolises?
- What is the effects of using the pentagram rituals using the Chinese elemental system, especially compared to the traditional Western elements?
- What are the dangers, risks, psychological and physiological effects of each different pentagram ritual, and how can they be avoided?

Good clear documentation of the answers to these questions can put pentagram rituals on a far more solid, pragmatic footing. In creating this thread I intend to share my findings over time, and I humbly ask other working magicians to share their empirical results and inferences from those results.

I read this today on a forum I read and wanted to post this here to stir discussion. I formally state that I take no sides other than in making sure what is called Golden Dawn remains true to the Tradition, a point of interest of a few public Orders. The intent of this post is to stir dialectic.

It comes down to this:

What distinguishes the Golden Dawn Tradition from the Left Hand Path
is a belief that there is a Macrocosm that matters.

In Thelema, Chaos Magic and those pseudo-Golden Dawn Orders that are
kin to them in doctrine, the fundamental belief is that your Microcosm
is King. You define what meaning and power there is in a symbol. No
outside force can change what you put into it. You define what is
right and wrong for yourself. No other person, group or entity has any
say in the matter. Established and time-tested Tradition is
meaningless. All that matters is what you feel about a magical formula
and the rationalizations that satisfy you that it is acceptable as you
believe it to be. In fact, nothing is really required of these Left-
Hand Path practitioners save that they further themselves in
these "virtues" and empower Self evermore.

Traditional Golden Dawn practice, on the other hand, is an
equilibrated path. There is indeed a Microcosm, and it does effect a
great deal in your experience. But, there is also a Macrocosm. A
greater Universe beyond the self that also influences what is True and
what is False, what is Right and what is Wrong, and what a symbol's
power truly is outside of personal choice, human psychology and
cultural history. It is what unites us together as a whole Creation.
Indeed, the Microcosm is an equal player, but likewise, so is the
Macrocosm unavoidable. The Golden Dawn magician does not develop
magical formulae that feel good and cool and then find rationalizations
to back it up, for that merely serves the ego to over-ride Truth.
Rather, a Golden Dawn magician uses their magical power and practice to
seek selflessly and honestly after the Truth and how to apply it in
one's personal Microcosm in a meaningful way. But, as was learned
following the Great Schism, such a magician must not seek to impress
their personal enlightenment on another.

Left hand Path magicians, as individualistic as they purport
themselves to be, in groups tend to be quite controlling. They are
just more subtle about it. And, its not surprising for self is the
ultimate virtue in such a philosophy. For a magician to respect the
needs of another magician to grow in a time-tested Tradition without
personal alterations sullying it, they would have to be selfless.
Selflessness requires a belief that there is a Macrocosm that matters
outside the Microcosm. This is something a Left-Hand Path magician
lacks and in the end, no matter how loud their declarations that they
value selflessness so that they may sound good to themselves and
others, their actions speak the opposite.

It is selfless and right to provide new magicians with an unaltered,
time-tested Tradition and to allow them to interpret it in their own
way and apply it in their own lives as they discover their True and
Divine Will. This is the essence of true Golden Dawn practice. On the
other hand, it is selfish and controlling to do violence to a Tradition
in altering it significantly to fit one's personal revelations and
feeding it to many new minds as something it is not.

One example: Let's change the godforms of the Neophyte Initiation
and put an entirely different force on the Throne of the Hierus. Say,
Set for instance, because we feel its right and we have a long list of
right-sounding arguments to rationalize it. We may have had the
benefit of a Traditional Golden Dawn upbringing. But, our magical
experience and study has given us the authority and right to deny that
to others. And, to hell with anyone who says different! We will just
slam them every chance we get and with self-righteous protestations
demand an apology for their offense to our beliefs!

This example is like a priest walking up to the altar and turning the
Cross upside down stating that Judas Iscariot will now be worshipped as
the Messiah. Such a group, if it were to exist, would certainly have a
right to their beliefs, but they could not walk about claiming they are
Catholics with any degree of intellectual or spiritual integrity.
Likewise, those pseudo-Golden Dawn Orders who claim the name and
Tradition but also the authority to significantly twist it to their
personal revelations and serve it on a platter labeled "Golden Dawn"
lack intellectual and magical integrity. Regardless of how thoroughly
such groups have convinced themselves and others by argument of the
value of such changes. Its not Golden Dawn anymore. Its a new
creation, or possibly old, but certainly mislabeled and misadvertised.
And, those who do practice and serve within a Traditional Golden Dawn
Order have a right to complain. No consumer would put up with such
wholesale misadvertising in their material food and needs, how much
more so should neither spiritual seekers put up with it in their
spiritual instruction and guidance. And those in the know have the
responsibility to say so.

I've dreamt about them twice in very vivid, lucid dream states. Both dreams have been the same; but the last one I opened a book that has been offered both times - which revealed more details. This may be tied in some way to Scientology, as there is a large portion of the dream that has to do with them as well - more so their original writings and beliefs about energy beings.

anyone done any planar work? anybody know anything about a place called," the flat grey plane?" i know of a guy that claims to have originated ther spiritually, and i dont think he's yanking my chain, i used to know him for years and ive done enough planar travel myself to know the hallmarks, and he was dead on. This flat grey plane or plain as the case may be, has nothing in it, in fact its sort of the nature of the place, the very LACK of any type of creative energy and drains the energy of others and sort of dissapates it into nothingness, and i cant seem to find any reference to it, im almost positve that this is a real place, ive seen that weird type of (for want of a better term) " energy" in action, and it sort of neutralizes everything around it, even thought, movement, everything, its grey in nature, and its is some WEIRD SHIT.
So anybody? thoughts?and dont tell me im imagining things i,ve been doing this kind of thin for more than twenty years, i KNOW what i saw.

Part of my attraction to the Enochian system, as it appears to me,
is its very technological feel...
Although the text of the keys themselves are pretty religious sounding,
I am not as connected to the divine names as belonging to specific deities
as i am with hebrew-derived Qabbalistic names live YHVH, ELOHIM, etc...

This causes me to be attracted to the idea of Enochian versions of the Pentagram
Hexagram, Middle pillar and other GD ritual practices...
I know that others have created their own versions of these,
I am wondering, does anyone on this list have practical experience with them,
and a preference as to which Enochian adapted rituals most reflect the mechanics
of the system itself?

Is the diary really that important? why or why not?

the diary is interspersed with very personal experiences and thoughts regarding the psychological impacts of ritual acts. it is also littered with the gems of phenominal experiences which are the result of intense practice.

Archangels and Visualisation

Telesmatic Images are the astral forms that are charged with ritual significance.
They are the emblems through which we access certain conscious forces through visualization, dhyana, creation of artwork, etc.
An example would be the Archangels, Angels, Enochian Sphynxes, Neteru, etc.
These are not so much the received images of entities or energies contacted in workings and scryed....such as the form presented by one of the Goetia once it is invoked.
These are images built up actively as a means to contact or invoke the force in question.
They often arise from traditions wherein they are invested with much previous use.

The ones that i am currently interested in and now asking about are the Archangels as visualized in the Pentagram rituals...
and Angels in general. The method given in the Golden Dawn for the determination of the visualized form of an Angel or Archangel is to create out of the letters of its name a corresponding figure. Working from the head down...the Atu and Alchemical attributions of the Letters are applied to give qualities to the head, body, weapons, demeanor of the Angel.

This makes so much sense to me magickally, that the Name of the Force gives rise to its Form....
However...it becomes apparent after a while that this is just as arbitrary a system of image generation as any...
could i not just visualize them as makes the most poetic connection to the Forces that they represent?
I have my own Sphynx-Kerub based manner of picturing the Archangels in the directions when i perform Pentagram.
My question is...
to what extent are ANY images placed upon these Forces purely human imagination suited to different temperaments as a means to an end (actual contact with the force)
and to what extent are the traditional images (such as we know of them) more powerfully related to them?

Have any of you worked out your own visuals based upon your own or traditional Telesmatic systems? How have they worked for you?

This thread is dedicated to the unfolding of our understanding of the term "black brother".
Now, earlier Lillith stated that there was a distinct difference betwean a black brother and a black magician, and that we can agree upon. however, you also proclaimed, sighting A.C. I beleive, that there was no difference betwean a white and black brother.
To that I would have to disagree.
From my understanding there is a distinct difference, which manifests as one moves to cross the abyss. keep in mind that this is all speculation and based on things we have read from various sources, as none of us I assume, have actually crossed and know from direct experience.
a black brother is one who, for whatever reason, was either unable to cross the abyss or conquer its guardian, who's name we all know. being defeated by this force, the black brother then shrinks into Daas, building there a fortress, fortifying himself against the dissilution or anihilation which is eminent in the final stages of the great work. Here he draws force around him, claiming "I am I" and resisting with great conviction the death of his "I". Here he is seperate, and seperates all things each from the other, with knowledge.
Daath has become the crown of his tree. It means utter failure. It is a false thing that crowns his universe. that is his knowledge.
Yes this sounds rather harsh, or perhaps you may say ignorant judgement. But I would like to say here that the black brothers too are the work of the wholeness of the divine unfolding. I do not imply that they are to be abhored, or even pittied. their part of the grand feast should be celebrated, for it too is the divine excasy of the beauty behind all things.

Greater Ritual of the Pentagram 2

the majority of my work with the GPR has been with its 5-element balanced form. It is an enlargement and elaboration of the exact pattern of the LBRP.

My question arises when it is considered as a tool to invoke or banish specific elements.
let us say that you are doing a GPR invocation of the Fire Element, after the qabalistic cross...do you just advance to the South and do the appropriate pentagrams and then proceed directly to the archangels and second qabalistic cross?
or, do you use fire pentagrams in all four directions?
also, are all four Archangels invoked or just Michael (in this example)

I have heard multiple accounts of the application of this ritual to specific elements. Your input is appreciated.
