... and I'm sure others are wondering the same ...

Any remote possibility?

Re: The big question...
Sat, September 20, 2008 - 7:26 AMYep, your right.. I know there are many wondering this question too, and I really don't mean to keep anyone dangling..
Basically, if I were to plan another Gala, I would need to take care of legal matters which would cost some money and would be more involved. Also, I have been toggling the idea of having some performances and selling tees at smaller venues and local events etc. too. I'm sorry I don't absolutley know the answer yet..it is a big decision...hopefully I will know the answer soon! -

Re: The big question...
Sat, September 20, 2008 - 4:06 PMYou know I was thinking......
There's certainly no reason that "Shimmy for a Cure" needs to be the name of an annual huge bellydance show complete with workshops, bells and whistles. Maybe Shimmy for a Cure could be the name of an organization of bellydancers that raise money for the Kanzius research. We could involve fundraising within haflas and local performances at small venues, we could have donations at the door, bake sales, raffles/auctions, or simply a donation jar at every local event. There are plenty of ways to keep the spirit and cause of Shimmy for a Cure going without having to launch another huge show. We could also support other cancer awareness events that we don't have to even plan, we can just wear our tshirts or bellydance outfits and be part of walk for the cure, etc. and march as a group. LOL I just thought of bellydance car wash. That would be hysterical, we could blast the 70's car wash song and shimmy to that while soaping up cars in coin bras. Uh, yikes....lol
Anyway, I mean basically evolving Shimmy for a Cure to an organization that meets quarterly throughout the year, and plans smaller events that are less stressful, but give back to the community, have a mission statement, that sort of thing.
Just an idea.

Re: The big question...
Sat, September 20, 2008 - 4:29 PMBut I'm certainly not saying let's not do another big show......everything was awesome and I would love to see it done again, Annette, but only if you're up for it! : )

Re: The big question...
Sun, September 21, 2008 - 7:39 PMHey ... if you do it, AWESOME!!! If you are unsure, that's perfectly OK. Events are a big undertaking. The really take a lot of time, energy, work, passion and dedication.
And money.
I totally understand where you're at :)
