I caught her fire dancing at Devil's Point tonight and she is as HAWT and ON FIRE as ever!
I am always thrilled to see her dance to the old-school tune "Devil Inside" by INXS - doesn't get better than that!

I've got no fucking clue what that means, but...

Charisse is back in the States. She flew back into New York this afternoon and now has the joy of ten more hours in the airport waiting for a flight tomorrow morning. She'll be back in SLC for July and then should be back in Portland by early August.

As soon as she moves in and gets settled, we're going to have a nice little welcome-home bash.

Recent events at which I've found myself looking for or thinking I've seen Charisse:

City Repair's HOWL Halloween party on the 29th
- I know she would have been there dressed in all her finery...

Kaosmosis and DJ Lorin at Bossanova on the 5th
- I found myself thinking I saw her at least twice through the evening.

Both incredible shows... I know I'm not the only one who missed seeing you on the dance floor, dear. I hope you're catching some kick-ass shows over there to make up for it.

Societas Insomnia is a troupe of veteran performers from the subcultures of ritual art, circus, sex, body modification, fire, butoh, and experimental music. We combine these marginalized forms to embody a world of living nightmare.

Our first year of shows; stretching from December 2004 to November 2005; developed a distinctive style of wordless and improvised movement-based theater drawing from the diverse backgrounds of our cast and the free sharing of methods and skills between us. Each of these four performances told one chapter in a mythic cycle of initiation, death, and rebirth that only the most attentive and loyal audience members had the chance to understand.

Therefore, we have chosen to open our residency at Someday Lounge with a comprehensive telling of that tale: The King Cycle, incorporating nearly the entire cast of all previous S.I. installments. Entirely new works will follow irregularly, continuing to explore the mythos of The Nightmare Company.

The Return...

Since this tribe is do DAMN active, I thought I would let you all know that I bought my plance ticket yesterday. Unfortuently it is to Utah since I have a dentist appointment there on July 28th. I plan to go from there to Burning Man and then depending if I can get some money together doing 'sales', I will either go back to Utah and get back on my feet, or head back to PDX. I miss you guys so much! I love Europe though. Anyone want to move to Italy or Amsterdam with me? Fresh shrooms and Parmesean cheese.....tempting...isn't it?

Charisse Needs Support

Ok, so you all know me right? Am I one to fake a smile? No! I just need to vent for a minute. I feel like such an asshole! I'm traveling and supposed to be having fun right? I have to be honest in that I've had moments of it, met some really genuine people, seen some nice things and all but...overall I've been quite depressed, loaded with anxiety, frustrated, spacey, and I'm just never quite sure where to put myself, who I am etc. Fuck! I'm trying to relax and have fun but it's just not working. I'm happy that people have been putting me up but I feel in the way, hostels are so unprivate and choatic, getting places is a pain, carrying everything on my bike and back is wearing on me (especially my shoulders, one of which I've injured). It's supposed to be exciting? I need to buy a plane ticket home (wherever that is) before my student card expires the end of December. Please don't let me come home early. Any advice on how to make this more enjoyable. Should a person like me that needs so much time alone actually travel?

An apartment absent of glitter and feathers...

With Charisse's absence over these last few months from PDX I am noticing that my apartment has a vacancy in its glitter and feather quotient. Having her stop by on a regular basis during her Portland tenure and having her live here for a month over the summer built up a moderate reservoir of sparkly things on the floor-boards and in the nooks and crannies of my abode. Even in the sheets, after washing them two or three times, I still found bits of glitter sticking to me when I awoke. Now and then I'd find an errant feather from a boa under my futon-couch or wedged between items in the corner. But now... nothing. I'm sure there must be some shiny Charisse residue somewhere in here, but it doesn't stand out as it once did.

Does anyone know where to buy body glitter in bulk, so I can compensate?

Since charrisse was such a blessing whilst in london and she is uber far from her burner buddies at home i think she should come to london decompression in december.!!

If charisse is able to roughly figuire out where she will be in december she can book some seriously cheap flights on ryanair.com or easyjet.com. lik maybe as little as 5 dollars each way, plus taxes but it all depenmds onwhich airport she is plying from plus factoring in taxes and shit

so when charisse figures out where she will be i will contribute some funds to her via pay pal so she can come here and play with her new friends again!

anyone else interested in donating 10 dollars or wehatever they can afford

Gone from PDX... Gone from the US...

So not only has she vacated Portland, she's out of the country entirely by now. After catching a train from here, across country to Chicago, then on to Brooklyn, if my recollections are correct, sometime during the day today she caught a flight out to London - bike, fire-gear and wardrobe in-tow (gee, what colorful luggage). I can only guess that she's off on a mission to teach as many Europeans as possible how to dazzle and sparkle as she so well knows how to do.
