The periodic reminder to please take a moment to check the list of existing threads before starting a new thread----- your topic may fit into a thread that's already in place. We really don't need 8 different threads discussing "Earthships"....which is the same as "building with tires"..."tire homes"..."rammed earth and tires"...."earth and aluminum can homes"....etc.
Also, remember that your thread title becomes part of an archive, and is what people use to figure out what your discussion thread is about--- and how people find topics of interest to them. If your thread title is "strawbale" or "wooden pallets" or "build with packing peanuts?" or "disassemble, move, re-assemble buildings", people know what to expect.
If your thread title is "here's a question", "will this work?", "cheap solutions", "an idea", etc...........that doesn't help and no one's going to read it later. Of course that's the curse of all online forums---- the threads titled "what do you guys think?", "can anyone help with this?", "I was wondering", etc.
We're pretty good about all that here, but a periodic reminder seems to be a good idea.

Just a reminder............................ .
If you start a thread called "cheap", "cheap housing", "look-- this is cheap", "really cheap" ---
hey, everything HERE is supposed to be about "cheap", so that doesn't tell us much in an archive.... .
This tribe also has a very specific focus. So if your thread is off-topic, expect it to be removed. If it's a duplicate of an existing thread, the content will probably be moved to the original thread. Makes life easier for people trying to find information .... .

Re: Threads & Thread Titles
Sun, July 19, 2009 - 4:03 PMA reminder:
No duplicate threads.
Please, no "no info" threads with titles like " Here's an idea", "I was thinking", "Something to think about", "Check this out", "Another way to build", etc.
They're useless in an archive, because no one knows what the thread content is, from looking at the title.
Thanks.
