Michelle Hi!
I really LOVE LOVE LOVE the Performances series DVDs. They are immensely useful, as I am only just beginning to perform myself.
I am hoping there will be more, and if you are planning more what can we expect to see in the future? And are you open to suggestions?

Re: Will there be more?
Thu, March 12, 2009 - 1:52 AMI'm totally open to suggestions!! I was thinking about doing a segment about staging for a troupe. And maybe something on costuming. I woke up in the middle of the night last month with a brilliant idea for a whole DVD in the series then forgot it. I'm going to keep a pad of paper by my bed from now on. So... I'm totally open to suggestions. -

Re: Will there be more?
Thu, March 12, 2009 - 2:34 PMI think staging group performances would be a great idea, particularly for more Oriental/cabaret dancers. But it happens in a lot of tribal/tribal fusion performances as well.
I can't tell you how often I've seen group/troupe pieces and no one is together or they're not aware of their formations. Pet peeve of mine. -

Thu, March 12, 2009 - 5:43 PMIf you do troupe formations, I would suggest Britt of Las Vegas. She does workshops on troupe layering and formations.
Joyfully,

Re: Will there be more?
Thu, March 12, 2009 - 9:07 PMActually a costume DVD was the first thing I was thinking of.
I would love to know WHAT to wear WHEN.
For example what to wear with which music, and which costumes work better with which kinds of venues.
As well where to buy costumes, whose got the best quality, How to make your own (as I've only attempted to do so twice myself, and am unhappy with both results) and where to buy supplies for do it yourself.
Different kinds of materials.
Cab vs Turk vs Tribal vs other forms of fusion costuming maybe?
And perhaps a segment on props? which props and costumes got together, with which music... or if this is even relevent?
And repairing costumes, quick fixes for the broken strap two minutes before you go one stage, ect....
maybe supplies to keep on hand at all times... a sort of "repair kit"
Regarding troupe stuff, you know Shoshanna stages fantastic Troupe pieces for Ya Habibi!
I might be biased as she is my teacher and all... but yea, she's excellent.
