I just tried to go to Michelle's website from my work computer (it's after hours & we're aloud to use them for limited personal stuff when we're not working) and it blocked it under the category "Intimate apparel & swimsuit." o_O I'm not sure whether to laugh or be annoyed.

Re: Web filters strike again
Mon, June 29, 2009 - 7:47 PMbecause of the word "cheek"
it is most likely part of a bought program that uses word recognition to block sites.
see if you can adjust your filters on your pc... -

Re: Web filters strike again
Mon, June 29, 2009 - 9:24 PMWeb filters can be really weird. I used to be a band director, and bought several instruments for various schools through a company called Woodwind/Brasswind. At several of my schools, their website was blocked, because it had the word "a$$" in it (contained within Brasswind). -

Tue, June 30, 2009 - 2:36 AMCould it also be this automatized "skin" scanner?
I have no idea how it works - someone discussed it on bhuz recently ("google finds my boobs offensive").
Her site had somehow been considered "adult" material - she contacted google staff, they said they would review the issue, they understood bellydance is a cultural rather than a sexual thing.. but somehow their software scans pictures for "amount of skin" shown.
I hope I got that right - that is what I remember from that thread.
It seemed really odd to me I keep seeing REALLY nude ads when I never "opted in" for anything like that on some sites - yet google runs this pretty exaggerated program apparently. I might WANT to see bikini or lingerie ads. Not to forget bellydance where a substantial part of belly etc is visible..

Re: Web filters strike again
Tue, June 30, 2009 - 3:34 PMI can't help but to feel a little flattered.... even in a costume that covers much more than the average swim suit we here at Cheeky Girls are just too damn sexy for the average office worker to take. It is in the best interest to protect the public from us.
