All of Michelle's DVDs look great. So I figured I would ask all of you.
I am looking for a great workout video- Intermediate/Advanced level. I want something that is challenging and gives me a good workout.
The Drills! DVD looks like it would work, and the Pop, Locks and Shimmy seems to cater to Int/Adv levels.
But when I watched the video of Body by Bellydance, I liked how she incorporated some yoga and core strengthening exercises in the workout, and how there is a cardio workout element as well.
So, which do you recommend the most?
The secrets of stage videos look incredible too....hmm...I will have to get those at some point!!
* Note to Michelle: I haven't purchased your DVDs yet (but I am working on placing an order :) )- but I just wanted to tell you that from the clips I have seen, your videos look to be the best on the market for belly dancers. They seem very informative, challenging, and well made......they cater to dancers, and cover topics that most bdancer DVDs dont! AND to top it all off, they are affordable!! Thanks for all of your hard work.

Re: Which DVDs to purchase?? .....hmmm
Fri, June 13, 2008 - 1:33 PMI like both Drills & PLS. PLS is more dancing-oriented. Drills is about getting movement patterns in your body so you can call on them. I've been using Drills a lot as part of my practice sessions and feel that my body is stronger and it's easier to call on certain patterns.
PLS has combos and then a choreo as the main focus.
Both are excellent and well worth the $$. Yocan get both for about the price of one IAMED dvd. -

Re: Which DVDs to purchase?? .....hmmm
Fri, June 13, 2008 - 11:26 PMI agree with Patricia. I also have "Drillls, Drills, Drills!" and "Pop, Lock and Shimmy" and both are really fantastic!
You have so much material in them. Michelle is very clear in her explanations, gives many advices so that you have the maximum of informations for you not to hurt yourself, and the drills last quite a good time (You just have to follow along and shift from a drill to another without touching your remote - no need to rewind - i find this to be a really good point for your daily practice sessions).
IMHO, you're a winner for their price - running time for Drills is 115 min and PLS is 95 min of excellent instruction . I'm happy I have both because I keep using them every week, which is not the case with all my BD DVDs.
So the choice of the DVD would depend of what you want to focus on. -

Re: Which DVDs to purchase?? .....hmmm
Sat, June 14, 2008 - 10:58 AMI have been impressed with every instructional DVD Michelle has put out thus far. The SOTS series is really invaluable to me, especially since I'm just on the verge of starting to perform in restaurants more -- I'm so glad to have them as a resource! I also have Drillsx3 and really think it's great. I haven't seen PLS, but knowing Michelle's work I'm sure it's fantastic. ;-) Happy dancing! -

Re: Which DVDs to purchase?? .....hmmm
Tue, June 17, 2008 - 2:28 AMI have Drills and Pop lock.. I use the Drills one more, I just find it a little more versatile and a better workout. It has a lot of strengthening exercises too, and is packed with info and ideas, brilliant value for money. Secrets of the stage is also amazing (I only have the first one so far though). I'm sure you will not be disappointed whichever ones you choose, Michelle is an incredible teacher, I have a lot of respect for her. -

Re: Which DVDs to purchase?? .....hmmm
Sat, June 21, 2008 - 4:27 PMI'm with the rest of the crowd - both "Drills x 3" and "Pop, Lock, and Shimmy" are very, very good. "Drills" is a terrific way to learn layering and, while "P,L, & S" is geared more toward drum solo work both dvds will give you one heck of a workout!
