Re: Crabs??!!?
Thu, August 2, 2007 - 6:38 PMwell, they look really cute!
dungeness crabs are of course da BOMB in the pacific northwest.....one of the best things about late winter/early spring, everybody goes crabbing, there's dungeness in the stores, etc. great just dipped in lemon butter, or the meat used in crab louis salad or over pasta. now i'm getting hungry for em and it's no longer season! waah!
so mild and yummy, those little dungeness. don't know how these green crabs would taste.....
whoever came up with that imitation crab should be, oh, i don't know, forced to eat somethign even more disgusting? -

Tue, August 7, 2007 - 9:54 PMLOL!!!! imitation crab is probably one of the most disgusting created foods.
spam might be in the running, but i understand it's a real fave in hawaii
miracle whip definitely is right up there too.....oh, and the fake 'american cheese' slices that were really just vegetable oil (i can't believe i was raised on those!)
maybe a subject for a new thread....the most disgusting 'substitution foods' one has ever had to eat? -

Re: Crabs??!!?
Fri, August 10, 2007 - 9:40 AMwhile I would prefer real crab, the imitation crab can be good for some things... California rolls, for one... also for cheap crab salad sandwiches. Since I'm not on a coast, it's sometimes the most cost-effective way to go.
