Chez Cristian - Old art. * Pictures of some of the pieces in private collections, left with me, given, thrown, burned or forgoten around.

I paint all my paintings on horizontal surfaces. The reason ?

Since I was young I have embraced buddhism - zen buddhism.

That has inspired me to paint with my whole body.

Akin to Chinese and Japanese calligraphy.

A meditative state where the feel comes from the whole, beyond the parts.

Be it the thoughts or the hands moved by those thoughts.

I paint when I feel like I have something to tell myself.

A message that the eyes of others can remind me of things forgotten deep inside.

Brief Bio :

I am L.-Cristian .

- European born : Romanian Hungarian.

- European and Canadian educated, multilingual.

- Living in Toronto Canada at present moment.

- Works are Tempera on Arches Velin most, some pastels, a few on cardboard. Because of a bizarre intolerance to oil odor I refrain from that medium.
