Journey to AMF'09

I am hoping to allocate and commandeer a mobile soundsystem and bus.

Reiki classes in Cincinnati this weekend

Healing Today now offers affordable Reiki workshops for all levels in Cincinnati.

The classes will be taught by Richard C. Fiallo, Reiki Master. Richard has been teaching and sharing Reiki with others since 1999 and has personally attuned over 600 different students. The classes are always fun, informing, and include lots of hands-on experience.

The next classes will be on December 7, 2008. The Reiki 1 class will be from 10am- 3pm at the Comfort Inn on Aicholtz Rd. The fee is only $75 for level 1 and this includes handout, attunement, and certificate.

The Reiki 2 class will be from 4pm-7pm.

A Reiki Master training class will also be held that weekend for those who have completed levels 1 and 2. All classes are inclusive and at the end of the day you will leave with your certificate.

I'm semi new to the area and was just curious as to how you guys avoid the 'rave' stigma and the legal implications that tend to accompany it. do you guys just party on private property? ever run into any issues with the police? Or do you just adhere to the time slot given....i think there are certain rules like...the event has to be shut down past 2 or 3 am otherwise it's considered a 'rave'.

Just curious, def looking forward to checkin out the vibe and the crew. love the premise you guys operate on.

NAIAD DAIAD are North America's newest and greatest psychedelic electronic supergroup. Consisting of Brandon Maynard (Aquarium/The Malah, Greenville SC) and Cooper Howland (OpenSourceCode, NYC) NAIAD DAIAD adamantly refuse to recognise genre restrictions, rules, or recommendations about what music is supposed to sound like. Instead, we produce eclectic, freewheeling, effortlessly funky, outrageously danceable music. Equally suited to the chillout or the main stage, morning, noon or night, NAIAD DAIAD has been under construction for over a year, and is finally ready for your consumption! Sacred Sounds is pleased to present our first open-air campout which will be held at a virgin venue located on privately owned land between Springfield and Kansas City. The venue offers plenty of room to park, camp, and dance. There will be Porta-potties, outdoor showers, food, and drinks onsite. Vender booths available; please let us know if interested. Pets and glass bottles are NOT allowed. No outside alcohol allowed. The venue will be selling beer. This will be a no trace event meaning that you will be required to take all your trash home with you including your cigarette butts. We want to leave the venue just like we found it if not better. So please plan accordingly.

Chicago to Survivor Syndrome

HELP!!!

I am in severe need of transport assistance to Survivor Syndrome. Attending it is a decision I made today, after discovering that "Ted" airlines can get me there for a $220 round trip. I will arrive at O'Hare Friday, 5/9 at 10pm, and will need to be back there by 4:30pm on Sunday, 5/11. If worst comes to worst, I will rent a car, for either the trip to Urbana, the trip back to O'Hare, or for both. But, that substantially negates my objective of keeping this affordable (I'm in a rough spot for trance expenses right now), so I'm hoping assistance can be offered without inconvenience (on anyone's part). I will throw down cash on gas, with PLEASURE.

Protesters in Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Germany, Italy, Mysore, New Delhi, Chennai, Buffalo, Chile, Vienna, Israel, Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Chicago, Bangkok, Seoul, New York, Sydney, London, San Francisco, Minnesota, Barcelona, Munich, Belgium, Taiwan, Paris, and even a vigil was held in Beijing. Unprecedented numbers of peace marchers, hunger strikes, vigils and protests in front of Chinese Embassies worldwide is surely not what the Communist Chinese Government had intended when they made the decision to 'crackdown' on Tibetans. One report even states that Tibetan protesters were gunned down in broad daylight in the streets of Lhasa. The Israeli parliament held a discussion about "the Genocide in Tibet".

Maybe the world is asking China to have compassion if they want to have their 'precious' Olympic Games if you read in between the lines. Several top athletes have already threatened to boycott the games and Beijing can't even promise clean air for them! I hope for a quick end to the utter stupidity and arrogance of the Chinese Authority in regards to the complete brutalization of any sense of the term 'human rights' amidst this 'crackdown' on autonomy ...

For many a month Audiognomes has been silently mourning the loss of
their beloved Leader Gnome, who is lost somewhere in a funny shaped
state called Texas, they wandered Earth aimlessly in search of something
new, they stomped, danced and created music with a new fangled
technology called.... laptop.... but it did not fill the void, or the
laziness...

The box wine grew low, the future looked bleak. PsiloPsyBens cat
tried to kill Microcosm, Toki went without decent beer at many a gathering,
Robyo was forced to move to the "Ghetto". Scatter was almost always
scared and naked, and Geal was placed in a ward after he lost it and
thought he was Flava Flav... Times were rough.

Then one day a lovely Fairy Psy Mistress came to them with good
tidings. A new baby brother named Saeros,
and a place for them to dance with all their dear friends, a place for
music and artistic endeavors, so with a wave of her
hand, a PSY PARTY WAS BORN!!!

And it was about damn time.

I'm planning on making dharmaharmony's first release by the end of the year...
i'm looking for all things psy, from nighttime to daytime....there will be at least one slot open for a chill track.

the website should be up soon. all i have to do is fill in some content and fix the sidebar fonts....

however, if everything goes better than badly, my plan is to have 3-4 releases for 2008. so, i need many many many track submissions and i'll probably spend the next few years networking w/ everyone, but eventually everyone can benefit from the recognition if we do it right.

so for now, ciao.....i'll check every now and then for posts!

I listen to ther mixes from you guys all the time, so I thought I would share some magic and a style of psy that I nomrally do not mix.
I usually stick to the darker and more twisted stuff, but I think I did alright spinning the more proggy and lighter stuff.

We are working hard to put together a second installation of sexy, scintillating, knock-yer-socks-off entertainment for the Chicago community AND...to raise funds for CHICAGO THONG!
Last year's event was a raging success. We raised tons of mulah for THONG and showcased over 20 Chicago performers! It was fabulous! We also contributed funds to the national anti GMO/nanotechnology efforts.

Entheon: Abundance - Sweet fundraiser turned sour

First and foremost I feel it is necessary to make clear my relationship to Entheon Village: I am a supporter. I am not a promoter, I am not an artist, I am not in any way legally or financially bound to those that call themselves Entheon Village. The following should not be taken as a statement by the group who is Entheon Village.

Many of you are aware of the unpleasant ending of what was scheduled to be a wonderful evening. The space was filled with wonderful energy. Friends and family had been preparing the building for the entire week. Promoters had booked artists months prior. Others were secretly making plans too.

An event like this has its benefits and its drawbacks. It does not take place at a "club" where loud music, alcohol, and hundreds of people gather regularly to spend and make money. It is not funded by a single or small group of people with financiers backing them with the intention of a lifetime of money being made. It does not have Globetrotting Dj's regularly coming to attracts the hordes of sheep who just want to have a good time at whatever cost. Venues, like the warehouse we found ourselves at, are not guaranteed and often times the venue is changed at a last minute due to a small detail or two. Lots of people get left out because they don't get the notice.

An event like this is put together by artists and promoters with the intention of moving forward into a collective global consciousness. It is accomplished with the (often) thankless effort of a lot of people who do it for the love of the community, the love of the people, and the love of the art.

There were many disappointments Saturday night. Over 500 people were told to go home - many not in a condition to safely drive the vehicle that they traveled in. Their safe spot was abruptly disturbed. Over 500 more were expected to come! They were not allowed to even glimpse at the hard work that was put forth for their enjoyment. The promoters had to get up in front of everyone and inform the crowd that they had failed in one way or another. Can you imagine how scary and embarrassing that would be? Even the police, in their glory of telling everyone to leave, felt a sense of failure. There was no panic, no screaming and yelling, no outbursts of refusal. No one gave the police any reason to do anything more than stand there and be Authority. As far as I know no-one was searched, arrested, or otherwise held against their will. This is truly amazing!

I cannot apologize for Entheon Village in the way that some feel is necessary. I can apologize for not helping more. I can apologize for not taking a more active role and lifting some of the weight from the shoulders of those that put this wonderful (and it was wonderful for the entire time it was allowed to proceed!) evening together for us. I sincerely apologize for not helping to lift the enormous weight of responsibility that Entheon Village is.

And this is my restitution for such:

If you showed up between the hours of 8:30 and 10:30 you probably met me. My name is Tom and my wife Erin and I were volunteering at the front door. I am the tall guy with long hair and she has long golden dreadlocks. What we are asking is for you to donate some funds to help offset the enormous cost of putting together an event that was not allowed to go on for more than a couple hours. From what I have gathered, the expense of this event was laid mostly on the person who had the responsibility of relaying the message from the police. Her name is Liz Campanella and she worked very hard putting together this and the last three Entheon events! Due to the weight that is on her right now, and the time of the year it is, I am asking everyone who receives this message to get together and help!

Samadhi is the fourth state of consciousness--beyond the conscious states, dreaming and dreamless sleep. Those who have witnessed samadhi as an external phenomenon report samadhi as falling into a kind of trance. The hair on the body stood erect, the half-closed eyes became fixed, and the body became weightless. These are mere symptoms and tell us nothing. There is only one way to find samadhi...you must experience it yourself!

I lost a pair of prescription glasses and an ankh pendant at CSFM.

The glasses are rimless with silver wire frames and the pendant was a silver ankh (a cross with a loop at the top) with a burning man symbol in it and the words kostume kult on the back. I’d really like to get both of these things back if possible. So if anyone knows anything about them please contact me. I also posted on chilluminati.org's lost and found thread, but I wanted to cover my bases by posting here as well.

Vincent Villuis, composer, deejay and Ultimae co-owner. His current project :: Aes Dana :: stands as a coherent fusion of deep sounds rooted in the atmospheric and psychedelic tradition, and a fluid down tempo morning trance. Evocative sound textures, opening as a travelling over his analogical dreams. Short tales made of samples and waves, energised by tribal beats. After the success of his latest album [ Memory Shell ], Aes Dana continues to treat natural elements and weave kaleidoscopic sounds with groovey and spacey backgrounds. He currently works on a musical score for 4 DVDs of NASA space imagery.

Yann - Tech Safari - Montreal, Quebec

Formerly known as DJ Dew, Yann was introduced to the underground electronic scene in the early 90’s. These events were an eye opening experience and filled him with a new musical sense. 1996 was a turning point for Yann, as he started spinning and organizing parties with E.O.M.F. and subsequently founded Cosmogony Concept.

At this point, the promoter has evolved into one of the most respected DJs in Eastern Canada and is an active member of Techsafari Productions (Eclipse International Festival). Today, Yann has a performance history that boasts of over 200 major events throughout Canada. Additionally, he has been resident at the Outer Limits monthly events at the legendary club Playground, as well as at Yantra events (Interchill Records) and is currently resident at the celebrated Amazone monthly events at the Society for Art and Technology. On an international level, he has also been contracted for events in Canada, the United States and in Morocco (Rythym of Peace, Music of the Spheres, Full Moon, Club Darlah, Club Theatre O) and is the North American representative for the German label Headroom Productions. He is currently working on a compilation, Beta Sense, for the label, which will be out in 2006.

Yann can read any crowd and each set he’s performed has provided him with the opportunity to play alongside world-renowned talent such as X-Dream, Hallucinogen, Astral Projection, Tim Shuldt, Absolum, Infected Mushroom, Midmiliz, Dino Psaras, Son Kite, Deedrah, Ticon, Talamasca and many others. His engaging unique sound blends groovy psychedelic trance with original, percussive, banging beats and an impeccable mixing style.

Mahiane - Ultimae.Com - Lyons, France

Mahiane aka Sunny, co-owner and manager of Ultimae. Deejay and composer, she participates to Aes Dana and occasionally H.U.V.A. Network. She recently released [ Oxycanta ], a mix embodying the works of pioneers in the exploration of a new style of electro-atmospheric ambient.

Gift Culture // LIVE - Dallas, Texas

The Gift Culture project is based on sounds, imagery, and art derived from DSP technology, analogue synthesis, and computer-based non-linear editing. As Gift Culture mastermind Michael Hale explains,

In this day and age, it is possible to sculpt light and sound as if they were clay. Throw a midi-digitizer, sensors, and a video-sampler into the mix and suddenly, you have the power to create fully immersive audio/visual multimedia environments.

Gift Culture is the result - his attempts to share his explorations in this multi-dimensional space; to evoke sonic textures from samplers, synthesizers, and DSP algorithms that can only come from those things; a journey to discover their "voices", so to speak, using such techniques as granular synthesis, spectral resynthesis, FFT/IFFT based spectral morphing and interpolation, and whatever other exotic algorithms he can coax out of his myriad machines.

This catalytic duo (Julee & Troy) create Live Interactive Visual Environments. Since 1999, they have become large-scale A/V event curators and they continue to push their means of expression through their video compositions and the realtime surrounding spectacles. Always providing a customized thematic projection/performance of synchronous moments of meaning and inspiration.

Cafrine // LIVE - Tech Safari - Montreal, Quebec

Cafrine has been producing and mixing live video since 2001 and has been an active member of the electronic music scene since 1998.

She first entered the field as a promoter for Felix the Katz, an underground production company that threw a various number of events, from intimate chill parties to larger ones, ranging from 100 to 1000 attendants and focusing on audio-visual interactions. As a student of film and communications, Cafrine was determined to marry her knowledge in video production to these events.

Her goal as a VJ was to bring an imaged-based dimension to the music she loved. She now creates and manipulates visual elements to live settings using a variety of techniques, working simultaneously with several video sources. Following her interest for new concepts, she has also worked in with a variety of artists, such as DJs, musicians, painters, singers, dancers and circus performers in order to create and even broader interactive experience.

Cafrine has now performed at over 100 events for up to 10 000 participants and developed a passion for a mix of colorful, organic, urban and dreamy images. Now resident VJ for Techsafari’s legendary monthly Amazone nights at the Society for Art and Technology, she has been working for three years with the collective and has presented her creations in Montreal and on an international level.

Alberto - Cosmic Traveler - Milano, Italy

Alberto has unique style, flawless performance skills, he is true connoisseur of emotional driving tribal music. talented and methodical, he creates intelligent soundscapes alternating melodic intensity and compositional depth. Dance floor mayhem is guaranteed! Creative visual artist and well known organizer, driving force behind Cosmic Traveler. He rocked our last full scale party, Cosmic Outset to no end and we are extremely pleased to bring him back to invoke the madness all over again.

Dan Efex [D.N.X.] - Chicago, Illinois

dan efex is well known for his ability to draw a frenzied excitement out of even the mellowest of crowds. It is not uncommon to see fans packed shoulder to shoulder, hands in the air, as he leads them through an energetic and intoxicating journey on the dance floor. There are many who consider him to be one of the founders of the Midwest’s trance scene, a scene that is still strong and growing today. He was one of the first to introduce the Midwest to the soaring build-ups and powerful explosions characteristic of some of his styles of trance. But although Dan is perhaps best known for his trance, do not be fooled -- he is as diverse as he is skilled! His repertoire of past events includes sets with progressive trance, psychedelic trance, hard techno, hard core, hard house, slow breaks, tribal and ambient. He mixes it up and keeps it interesting. His unfailing ability to read the crowd and know precisely what to plug in ensures that he leaves no stragglers behind on his musical excursions.

Professor X - Trance Psyndicate - Yuma, Arizona

The Professor is the leading authority on genetics, mutation, and psyonic powers with considerable expertise in other life sciences. He possesses a strange, twisted fixation for inducing mental illusion. Did someone say Rotten? One of the Trance Psyndicate’s long lost mentors comes back to the Midwest for the first time in nearly 5 years. This is a weekend-long outdoor camping event located at a private location in beautiful, rural Central Illinois.

Gate opens at noon Friday, music stops at noon Sunday.

This is being held on private rural property. Please respect the venue, its owners, and any neighboring towns and their laws.

The location is just outside of Metamora, Illinois -- We will be providing the exact location, internet maps, and GPS coordinates very shortly. Stay posted to this page for that info.

There will be full-service vending, plenty of room for camping, hot showers, a pond for swimming [if the weather is warm enough], room for children to play safely, and plenty of open space for those beautiful midnight walks. While there are no RV hookups, you can bring one or a camper for an extra charge. Advance arrangements will have to be made by contacting us directly.

THIS IS A LEAVE NO TRACE EVENT. Our mission is to return the venue to its owners in the same, if not BETTER condition than it was. As the owners have said, “leave only your footprints behind”.

Be prepared for rugged conditions. This is on private property. While we have taken every single precaution to ensure that everyone will be able to participate safely, we cannot emphasize enough how important plain common sense is. Be safe, be sensible, be considerate, be aware.

Absolutely no pets and no glass. Be your best, and bring your best.

Due to the nature of the venue, we ask that all ins-and-outs be kept to a bare minimum. While we will not prohibit you from leaving, nor will we refuse to let you back in, we do ask that everyone please make your trips in and out of the venue as minimal as possible. Please come prepared to stay.

We are asking for volunteers to help us with this event. There will be plenty of things to help with, so please let us know if you would like to get involved.

Our security will be fun, yet firm. We will be as unobtrusive as possible, yet ensure that everyone is participating safely and following good common sense. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the premises with or without reason, without a refund, at any time.

We strongly believe that this will be a community event driven by all of us as one collective.

The Mission
Our mission is to promote peace by joining participants worldwide in a synchronized Prayer for Peace and to support humanitarian causes through the global language of music and dance.
The Goal
Our goal is to inspire participation from promoters, clubs, artists, musicians and peace-lovers worldwide to dedicate one day to support humanitarian efforts and help unite people from all nations in a day of peaceful celebration and harmony. This year we are expanding the circle to include anyone interested in world peace, even if you can't make it to an official event.
The Objective
Our objective is to create as many Earthdance events around the world as possible. From public stadium concerts to private living room gatherings, there are no conditions on how big or small an event has to be. The spirit of Earthdance is participation on whatever level possible.
In the spirit of "Think Global, Act Local," each local promoter must donate at least 50% of their profits to a local charity related to one of the following categories:

I've never asked about this before, but seeing the other topics here I think this is a good place to do so. For as long as I can remember, I've gotten these tingles at the top of my head (the same area that monks shave because they claim that's the area God communicates with them). It happens at random times, but when it happens it's really strong. It almost feels as though there's something on top of my head. Every time it happens, I feel the need to touch it or even scratch, but it doesn't go away for a while. I've never understood what it was and I always wondered if other people felt it, too. I've never discarded the possibility that I was being spoken to, but if I am I've never known what the message was.
Does this happen to everyone? Does anyone know what it could be?

Practice 4.2 Connected Shaking

Stage 1: shaking

Sit with your back straight, preferably on a mat on the floor, possibly in a chair.
If on a chair, avoid leaning back against it.
Keep your eyes closed throughout the exercise.
Shake your hands quickly and vigorously for 10 to 20 seconds.

Then remain motionless with your palms upwards. To achieve maximum effect, avoid resting your hands on your knees or the arms of a chair.
Become aware of the vibration in the hands.

Stage 2: vibration in the eye, vibration in the hands

Repeat stage 1: shake your hands, then become motionless with the palms upwards.
Become aware of the vibration in the hands.
Become aware of the vibration in the eye (between the eyebrows.)

Focus for a few seconds on the vibration in the eye. Then become aware again of the vibration in the hands for a few seconds. Then, vibration in the eye again... Go from one to the other several times.

Then become aware of the vibration between the eyebrows and in the hands at the same time.

Stage 3: friction

Repeat stage 1: shake your hands for 10 to 20 seconds. Then remain motionless with your eyes closed, palms upwards. Become aware of the vibration in the eye and in the hands at the same time. Remain in this perception for 1 minute.

Then start breathing with the throat friction, as described in Chapter 2.* Connect the friction with the vibration in both the eye and the hands. Continue the practice for 1 or 2 minutes. Watch the quality of the vibration change

*Throat friction: This practice consists of breathing with a friction at the lower part of the back of the throat, while keeping the mouth slightly open. The friction is generated during both inhalation and exhalation. It creates a 'wind' type of sound. There is neither humming nor buzzing, nor any form of chanted sound. The sound is roughly the same while inhaling and exhaling. If you can, try to make it a low-pitched sound; it will be easier to sustain over long periods of time. But don't worry about making it perfect. Just breathe with some vague friction in the throat.
The throat friction is a sound of energy. It quietens the mind and when mastered, instantaneously induces a 'tuned-in' state of consciousness.

Tips

A whole range of experiences can result from this practice. An essential point is to realise that a modification, in both the hands and the eye, occurs as soon as you start the friction. The vibration becomes more intense, more tangible, and at the same time its quality becomes more subtle.
The throat friction not only intensifies the vibration, it also helps connect the eye with the centers of energy in the palms of the hands. A triangle of energy can often be felt, linking the eye and the palms.

Stage 4: connecting

Shake the hands for a few seconds. Then remain motionless with your palms upwards.
Feel the vibration in the eye and the vibration in the hands.
Start breathing with the throat friction. Connect the friction with the vibration in the eye and the hands. Watch the changes in the vibration that automatically take place due to the friction.
Then try to feel the connection between the hands and the eye.
Use the throat friction to amplify this connection.
What exactly can you feel between your hands and your eye?
Apart from feeling, can you 'see' anything (with your eyes closed)?
How does the energy in your hands change as you intensify the connection with your eye?

Tips and Traps

The perception of energy linkage between eye and hands is often accompanied by the perception of a triangle of light. At a more advanced stage of the training, this triangle of light will play an important role in certain key practices of inner alchemy.

Please remember our basic rule: no imagination, no visualisation. Flow with what comes. develop what you have, don't make anything up. If you can only feel a slight tingling in your hands, work at developing it with the friction and by regularly implementing the other techniques of the book.

As you go on practising this exercise and the following ones, it will appear that they create a gradual refinement of what flows into your hands. The more the vibration in the hands is connected with the awareness in the eye, the more it will become subtle and endowed with healing qualities. This is a first step in the development of the hands of a healer.

Records and U.S.T.A. Records. A new crew now exists in Boston to bring more events to the Boston scene. Sprial (Mike T) knows me very well and can vouch for parties I've thrown in the past w/3 days notice :) Due to stewpid laws nothing can go past 2am legally in Boston :(

If anyone is traveling to Boston check it out, email Spirla or myself. Dark trance for 3 hours! First opening hour is heavy prog / techy trance. good stuff.....LIVE. Last act, Mukti will blow the place away with twisted dark psy you'll probably never hear again :) Lauryn has played all over the country and world. She's going to throw down on the decks with dark music.

I'ts been a long time since Josh and myself have thrown parties-going back to rave days of 1999 - 2001. Now we are back in the game! SoS is dedicated to being as professional as possible and bringing top quality artists to Boston.

69 Kilmarnock St. Intersects with Boylston St, about a 3 minute walk from Fenway Park. 5 Minutes from Kenmore Sq T.Star Market Is on the corner of Kilmarnoc St.

The place is actually called the Linwood Bar and Grill. This party is at the club/bar You'll hear the music. Parking (come early) is in the rear and FREE but MAKE SURE YOU CHECK with the doorman that you parked in a correct zone. Parking for about 15-20 cars. There's a parking garage directly across the street as well as a cab company. About 1.5 blocks going down Kilmarnock St after Queensberry St on the right is a small lot. Parking is easy and readily available since it's further away from Lansdowne St… Expect to pay $5-10 to park if you cannot park behind The Linwood.The Linwood is a rather large, GREAT bar. Over 50 bottles of unique beer, 20 on tap. General prices are ~$4 for 12oz bottle or ~$4 for a pint. ….

NOTE PARTY 9PM -1AM. DUE TO STUPID BOSTON LAWS ALL "LIVE MUSIC" MUST CEASE AT 1AM FOR THIS PLACE. BAR IS OPEN TIL 2AM THO SO GET YOUR DRINK ON AND CHILL AFTER THE PARTY. SoS is doing everything we can do push this to 2am but because of licenses and an old folks home 1.5 blocks away it might not be possible. However the bar sound system can play music. We will figure this out.
