A quote by Tony Campolo sums up exactly the way I feel about the Christian right:

"I have three things to say to you: First, last night, while you were sleeping, 30,000 around the world died of starvation related causes. Second, most of you don't give a shit. Third, you're more concerned with the fact that I said 'shit' than the fact that 30,000 kids died last night."

I have friends on the right who think all Christians should be conservative. They claim that conservative values are Jesus' values, but I don't believe that at all. And here's why:

I could never associate myself with a group that whose members stand outside clinics screaming at frigntened young girls, telling them they're going to hell.

I could never associate myself with a group whose members put themselves on a self-righteous holier-than-thou pedistal.

I could never associate myself with a group who has no problem spending tax money on killing, but doesn't think tax money should be spent to help our most helpless.

I could never associate myself with a group who find it perfectly acceptable that millions of uninsured people in this country could lose EVERYTHING they have because of an illness they have no control over.

I could never associate myself with a group who loudly espouses intolerance and judgement towards their fellow man, instead of the "loving they neighbor" as Jesus commanded.

What else can you come up with?
