This tribe exists to honor, learn about, and share experiences related to Hekate, Demeter, Persephone, Zeus Meilikhios, and other chthonic gods and goddesses known in ancient Greece and Rome. Chthonic deities are those closely connected to the earth, the underworld, ancestral spirits, agriculture, wealth, and occult wisdom. Sometimes they are related to retribution and justice. Many of the Olympian gods and goddesses also had chthonic aspects, often represented by snakes. All are welcome here, whether you identify yourself as Academic, Hellenist, Numinist, Pagan, Wiccan, or none of those. Please be respectful of each other's views and keep the focus on Hellenic, Italic, Etruscan, and Roman deities. For the sake of comparative mythology, other cultures may be discussed. Hopefully we can strike a balance here between scholarship and spirituality.
