The Church of Debauchery was formed by its founder and leader Padre Vasid Zanar Kokushi I in the year of Pennsic 28, which is now called YOD 1, or Year of Debauchery 1. The father, or Padre, discovered the ancient secrets of debauchery, which had been lost to the past until now. The philosophy of the Church is simple, we are all free, free to act in this moment alone, there was a past, but it is no more, there is a future but it is too far away. The only thing left is this moment, it is the only thing that we have, and should be used for joy and self-fulfillment.
The Church prides itself on bringing joy to those around them, and being a participant and not a spectator at Pennsic. If you have ever felt that Pennsic changed you, and you wanted to give something back, you are in the right place. Everyone can do something to give back to Pennsic, which has given us so much. The Church believes that every person is attempting to reach enlightenment, which is a linear process. Libation (the art of drinking), leads to fornication, which leads to enlightenment. Although being mortal, humans can often only reach enlightenment for a short period of time before falling back to mere mortality. The Church’s mission is to rise up each Debaucherous Day (which is marked by the setting of the evil heat orb that crosses the sky, bringing light and heat, called “mundane day”) and venture forth to do battle against the true evils of this world. Evils like sobriety, chastity, and so-called mundane morality. Look at the rules and ideas of their mundane world: snatch and grab all you can, step on or over the week, sell out anyone to improve yourself, enslave yourself for 8 hours or more of you waking day, just to eat, have a place you call home, and the promise of things that will lead you into deeper indebtedness to the mundane world. The Church accepts anyone who wishes to free themselves, if only for a short time, and attempt to reach enlightenment. But for some this is not enough, they wish to master to secrets of Debauchery, and for them the ranks and tiers await. Below is the Liber Illuminari, Latin for ‘the book of enlightenment’ it lists all the ranks, rules, and rewards of the Church. Each level in the Church has a challenge. If you complete the challenge, you receive a new rank. Rise high enough in the church and you may win special honors, favors, trophies, and the right to wear the garb of Church leaders. Perhaps you are the next Padre, and the spirit is waiting to fill you (yes, you really can become the Padre, read below). Come, free yourself, that is the Church’s motto; “Te Liberatis”. Cast off the chains of the mundane world, it has a hold on you no longer. You are now master of your fate, free in this moment. Join us, and find the power of yourself through enlightenment.
