Re: Food thread!
Fri, July 3, 2009 - 11:45 AMOh, also: from what I understand, there will only be one potable water setup in the vendor area. So, if we can bring in water, that'd be awesome. :) -

Re: Food thread!
Fri, July 3, 2009 - 12:35 PMOh, AND... the site asks for no glass. Which is fine, we just need to try to minimize the amount we bring in so accidents don't happen. :) So on the thought of water, we might want to get gallon jugs or something similar! -

Re: Food thread!
Fri, July 3, 2009 - 1:11 PMSomeone over on a performer's LiveJournal forum asked about alcohol. With the change from Secret House to Mount Pisgah, how has this changed? The person is coming as part of a group from Washington and said they liked being able to buy wine and walk around the area with it. Some concern was expressed about the change of location possibily meaning a change in alcohol policy. Will it be OK for folks to bring their own? Will it be sold inside the main gate? Or will there be none allowed? -

Re: Food thread!
Sat, July 4, 2009 - 7:59 PMI'm not sure about liquor being sold, honestly. However, I imagine it's okay to bring our own alcohol (we are camping, after all.. not like it's a day fest only) though don't quote me on that.
Regarding glass, I imagine it's okay as long as we're not breaking it. That's their big concern. Maybe we should get glass covers! Y'know, like knitted wine bottle cozies. ;) -

Re: Food thread!
Tue, July 7, 2009 - 9:07 AMOoooh good thought Lyra! I'v seen knitted bottle holders made out of recycled plastic bags! If anyone knows how to do that, that would be a great thing to have. And Rowan and I usually go shopping right when we get into Eugene, so we will have several jugs of water as well. -

Re: Food thread!
Sat, July 11, 2009 - 12:52 AMWe have several giant jugs of water we bring and fill at the local grocerie.. we bring a good bit of food with us and then shop for local produce when we get there Dee usaly makes a dayly run for Ice and Water and we have extra jugs if we come to onsite to use for setting up a comfy kitchen.. if we do do it for the whole group some extra strong manyly hands to help fill and haul water and ice to help Dee out would be greatly apreciated and we realy want to do group cooking again..
and if we end up onsite well we know at lest we will be cooking for faerieworld and COMFY folks not just anyone who wanders up.. and weve a much better system this year to make sure everyone gets some! so if we are at Onsite wich remains to be seen after a few importiant questions weather its worth the collective 120 dollar differance to camp onsite then to camp at QC from wens to monday...
if we are onsite for the most part Sammy has a you bring it he will cook it policy, while accepting bribes of 'Imbibment' though he hopes for a few volenteer assitants and hopes Andre will come play back up Chef with him again!! -HINT- ;)
