COMFy will have a pre-setup space allotted. :)

Maybe we should talk about who needs what in a camping space so we can all see if we can help each other. Go! :D

My space requirements are simple. I have an 8' x 8' tent. If spaces are going to be assigned to specific individuals/families, I wouldn't mind being in a quieter nook. If it's first come, first served, I'll plan to arrive early (I usually do anyway) and work things out then.

Do you know how far the campsite will be from the parking area for campers?
What will the shower and restroom facilities be like? Are there permanent restrooms on site or will it be all porta-potties?
How far will the campsite be from the main gate? Will it be convenient to go back to the campsite or car to drop off or pick up stuff?

This just keeps getting better and better! Thanks to all who are working to make this the best Faerieworlds yet.

I am up at my booth, however I will be comin down to hang out at night and early mornings. I imagine if we can star putting together what folks might be able to bring to help out the whole would be good. I think water is the biggest things we will need as poste dby Lyra earlier. it sounds like we are close nough to do pretty good store runs should we need too.

There are six showers that will run 24 hours. Not sure about electricity or mirrors.
There will be just porta-potties, but lots of them and they get cleaned. :)
More info when I have more specifics!

Is there anyone that needs certain things because they're flying in, or anything? I'd like to start up that word of mouth like we had last year. "So-and-so doesn't have pillows? I've got 'em!" kinda stuff. :)

Keep the questions flying and I'll try to answer whatever I can, too!

Hey there Lyra, thanks for asking about if there is any certain things people need cause they are flying.. I am flying and vending so already have to lug/ship a bunch of stuff, so not having to pack big things like pillows or a sleeping bag would be great! I haven't even figured out what tent to try and get there... so if anyone is able to lend pillows or sleeping bag that would be fabulous!

Katie, we have a small tent that we used last year that I'd be happy to loan you, if you'd like. It's brand new, the only time it was used was at FW last year, hehe. Message me and let me know if you're interested and I'll send you the dimensions and such.

We have two 10X10 canopies and 12 other people in our caravan from WA state. We may try to find a spot on the edge of the comfy crew so we do not take up a large part of the main space :-) That way we can still visit!

I need a spot to set up a sleeping bag (don't have the bag and short on cash so if anyone has something I could borrow that would be great otherwise I am spending food money on something I'll rarely use after the festival).

I will be bringing 2 tents for 4 people. One tent is your basic 8x8 the other CAN be 10x10 OR it can be set up bigger and have little wings on the side. I wont set up the sides if were short on space.

I might have extra sleeping bags and such depending on how cold it gets there at night.

Okay.. I'm so excited! I think we might be able to camp onsite!!! :D But I need some things clarified cause I have a baby amazon pixie and all the grown up fae in my group are handicapped and have mobility issues. And I think clarifying in one spot might help others too.... So Rosy said there will be no cooking at our campsites? Will there be a cooking area set up like what was planned for the Secret House venue? How far will it be from the camping area? Is there a map of that kinda thing? Likewise someone mentioned that there would only be one water outlet for the venders? Will there be ready water access in camping area? There will be twenty-four hour showers available? Will there be portapotties smattered throughout the camping area too? I don't want to be selfish but, depending on how many there are, is it possible to request that one of the handicapped portapotties be placed near the comf area? I'm sorry if these questions have been answered and I just missed it!!! Thanks!

Oops.. I was working on that post on and off this morning and didn't see Moby's post about the cooking areas. Sorry!! I don't need that part clarafied then :) But I did forget to ask about electricity in the camping area. We can definitely do without it but just for the sake of thoroughness is there electricity? And were will it be?

        Wed, July 8, 2009 - 5:10 PM
it's as moby said, centralized cooking areas with fire extinguishers are what we want...think of it this way...dude in campsite nicely inebriated it's 3 a.m. "hmmm think i'll make me some tea" bumps stove over on the ground, field goes up in flames...awesome! he he he
if you're bringing a campstove, please also bring a fire extinguisher....

port o potties must always be along access roads...we can't scatter them about the campground because the trucks can't get to them that way to service them....they will be nearby though, promise...

        showers run 24 hours...

there will be a potable water truck onsite for camping, and also in the main festival village for to fill your bottles....

and willy will be doing hourly interpretive dances at each fire pit, nightly...... :D :P

i can't wait to see the interpretive dance she'll do for "The Emptying of the Porta Potties" hehehe or "early morning-coffee-after-late-night" should be worth the price of admission right there :) hehhe

Thank you, Kelly! I'm very glad about the fire safety! I was the tiniest bit bummed at first cause of the no firedancing after hours but it's a bigger relief to know that my baby and everyone else will be safe!! Yay! A comfy kitchen!!! Woo hoo!! Willow dances!! I'm so excited!! *goes off to plan delicous kitchen witchings*

hey all I am Rosy partner Mountain Lion. We have a chuck wagon kitchen with a wire table that goes next to it The
chuck wagon looks like one you see from the old west but much smaller. Its a camp kitchen. It is on a small 4 x 8 utility trailer. The trailer can be moved by a hand trollie easily that can be pulled like a big kids wagon. If the group wants to use it for ALL we can bring it into the group kitchen as long as we have an ok to move it with the utility trailer. It does not come off the trailer.
It comes with fire extinguishers. On the chuck wagon are spices, pots and pans, silverware, tea pot, large coffee pot, cups, dish watching pan and etc. Its Rosys kitchen.
Please let us know if you want us to bring it and have an ok to move it on site.

                what a cool thing!
you know.. with a setup liek that, foilks could make a little (or a lot) of extra money selling easy to assemble things like breakfast burritos to the other less prepared folks. just an idea! people woudl definately buy them. nobody likes waking up and cooking breakfast at a campsite after a night of revelry :)

Personally I love that idea. If someone is selling food, I am all down to buy food instead of cook. I hate cooking. I suck at it. And I would looooove to be able to not worry about cooking for the weekend.

So let me know if anyone is gonna be offering foodstuffs for sale at onsite camping. Awesome.

    @@Lyra, or Kelly,
whomever is digging up answers to our burning questions or curiosities.....
i'm staying at Richardson again this year, but these were questions, that i had as we were still deciding whether to upgrade or not recently..... and would be nice to know for next year....

@@Kelly~~I'm glad there will be water avaliable to refill our own containers throughout the day, that has always been a wonder to my group over the years, bottled water can be expensive overall.
Thank you soooo much for everything you do, and for making such a wonderful experience possible for many!
And for being open to ideas, and accommodations for all the different things people want and need to make this a most memorable experience!!

*what or how exactly is the 6 shower setup, set up??? pay showers? large unit with pullstring when water needed? community or individual stalls? hot and cold water? standalone building or a created situation with barriers of sorts? is there potential for more next year??

*how far are the 5 listed cooking areas, from the camping area? is it a firepit with a grid over top, with tables nearby?
*how about a spicket for dishwashing?

*in the camping area~~ is there potential for some privacy, scattered trees or distance to be had between groups of tents, or is it set up like Hornings was, with everyone just putting their tent along the path, next to a strangers tent, with no actual privacy or distance??

and Moby also had some of the same ??'s, that i had thought of a week ago....
*location/distance of camping area versus venue entrance versus parking?? measured by steps or minutes....

Gawrsh!!! i want soooo much to camp with COMF-y crew!!!! *le-sigh*
Next Year for sure!!!!!!! For Suuuurreee!!!!!

The chuck-wagon kitchen and idea sound soooo awesome!!!! and veggie breakfast burritos is one of my specialties and a fave!!!

@@Airrowin~~ i love chai!!! will you have any at fest during the day? i'd love to try it!!

Hello all. I am sorry about being so lame and absent for so long. Cat Dede and I will be attending this year, and we wanted to know how many will be at the new site, and if we should make the move as well. The cooking fire part confuses me a little. Will CoMFy group have it's own cook area? Because I was hoping to do some big meals again, including Stone soup, as that was fairly popular last year. At least I hope you enjoyed it and weren't being nice. Anywho, good to see you all and look forward to seeing you at FW.

anyone aware yet of what kind of cell phone signal we may get?????

and whats the deal gonna be with those who may want to hang with the COMFy group for a couple hours after Fest but are camping elsewhere?
will we be able to go over there??

i'm assuming wristband colors are a designating factor for many things???

and i had a couple other questions that have escaped me momentarily, will post when i think of them.....
