Come enjoy explorations in
CONTACT IMPROVISATIONS
The basis is moving attention and awareness through movement while in contact. From the basis we choose our responses, that is improvisation. We shall roll, fall, spiral, lift, and share our weight as we move together. Discovering efficiency of movement with others, into the unknown. Sharing surprises safely with our intuitive sensibility's.
Imagine moving with two or more bodies as if you were one.
Receiving and offering a massage that is integral with our movement together.
Communicating with more than words, listening with more than ears.
Imagine making sense out of physics from the direct experience of your own sensations.
There are many other ways to describe "contact improvisation"-
a moving meditation
body surfing
art sport
improvised dance
experiential physics
...well simply, it's a lot of fun!
Collin Leach is a massage bodywork practitioner that rekindled his passion for contact improvisation in 2005 after traveling to northern California where CI is popular. He trained extensively with Karl Frost in addition to some exciting art performance projects under Karl's direction- "Axolotl" (2005), Contact Camp at the Burning Man art festival (2005-2007), and "Proximity" (2007). While traveling to and from California he helped promote CI in Miami with Ileigh Reynolds and Elska Zeidle (2006-7). His practice of CI has further deepened with several stays in Germany and travels across the USA.
