Bellydance Bizarre - First Friday Nov. 2

Don't miss Bellydance Bizarre this Friday - one of the strangest performances this year (and that's saying a lot for Cold Fusion Tribal Dance)!

Cold Fusion Tribal Dance is teaming up with the Discovery Lab at the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center for a demonstration of DAVE2 (Digital Audio in a Virtual Environment). DAVE2 is a computer program that tracks a person's movements to create sound. In essence, the movement of the dancers creates the music that they dance to. This is something you'll have to see to understand! The dancers have worked with the computer for several weeks to create a series of movements that the computer can track, and to experiment with the sounds the computer can create. The result? ATS-inspired movements combined with electronic sounds - a performance like no other!

Cold Fusion Tribal Dance will be taking the stage (such as it is) at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 for demonstrations of the program. The Discovery Lab is located in the Rasmuson Library at UAF. Follow the signs along Tanana Loop to the rear loading docks of the library to access the Discovery Lab.
