I just took my first class at Odance studio in Boulder! It was awesome! I would suggest it to any one in Colorado who can make it. I am probably going to try and take the monday night one from 6:30-7:45 which is intermediate hooping. So if any of you end up going let me know!! I would love to chat with you.
But yea, I took the beginner level and it was still pretty good. I am all self taught and have never been to a class so it was a little different for me to go but I enjoyed it. Which beings me to my next question;
However, I do live in Denver so it is a little hard to get to boulder for class all the time, does any one know of an hoop classes in the dever area?

Re: Odance Studio Boulder/ Denver hoop classes??
Tue, November 18, 2008 - 12:25 PMHi Laura,
Yes, there is a hoop class in Denver! It is a weekly class on Monday nights (5:30 to 6:30). The class is held at The Mercury Cafe and is taught by Anne Dellinger (FireFly). She is a certified HoopGirl instructor, so I would guess the style is slightly different than the Hoopnotica style Boulder classes (?).
It'd be great to have you at Monday's class. If you have any questions - please let me know :)
More info about the class can be found on Anne's website: www.fireflyhoops.com/classes.htm

Re: Odance Studio Boulder/ Denver hoop classes??
Tue, November 18, 2008 - 7:56 PMHi Laura!
I was wandering where all the Denver Hoopers were! I see my friend Danielle has informed you of FireFly Hoops and it's Denver class at the Mercury Cafe. It is a Beginning Level 2 class so it sounds perfect for you since you already have some experience. This past Monday was the first class of the 5 class series, but drop-ins are always welcome or you can get the series price if you want to do all the remaining 4 classes. The class is small so there is lot's of one -on-one instruction. In 2009 I will also be offering Intermediate HoopGirl classes. Hopefully this Denver location will work out better for you. I look forward to hooping with you soon!
Whirling Wishes,
Anne Dellinger
Licensed Hoopdance Instructor

Re: Odance Studio Boulder/ Denver hoop classes??
Wed, November 26, 2008 - 11:19 AMHi All-
I'm Shakti, I teach the intermediate hoop dance classes at O Dance Studio here in Boulder on Monday nights. Just a quick correction: Kristina, the women who teaches the beginner classes has Hoopnotica training, but in the intermediate class I teach my own lesson plans - I'm self taught (did my own teacher training:) so all 3 of our styles are probably very different. I'm starting a new 8 wk series up here in January: here is the text for that if you're interested:
Join Shakti in this 8-week intermediate hoop dance series that explores trick and technique. We’ll work on developing your unique style and flow inside the hoop. My hope for this series is to get you thinking differently about your movement patterns, introducing tricks you may have never seen before! Scroll down for a class-by-class description.

-Hand positioning/technique
