You will need:
- A Ride - we can arrange car pooling for you

- A tent - extra long stakes or rebar. We can help you with this.

- A shade structure for your tent - some folks use those temporary carports and secure them down really well.

- A lamp - battery powered camp lantern

- A flash light

- A Sleeping bag

- Warm clothing and shoes

- Cool clothing and shoes

- Costumes for fun!

- Your suit case to pack it all

- A good sense of humor

- A good sense of self exploration

- 2 gallons of water per day (about 7 2 gallon jugs)
WHY? Because BMan takes place in the desert - it can either be very chilly (usually at night) or can be very hot (usually during the day). You need to stay hydrated.

- Provisions - dry fruit, un-perishable snacks.
We will provide meals - two a day. Breakfast and Dinner. So you will need to have some snacks for yourself through out the day. You may not be very hungry there, most people find it is so relaxing they don't eat much. But "be prepared" that is the burning man motto.

- $100 - if you want to participate in the meal plan.
OR we will do a work trade. Possible you can be transport, or are good at building things or you are a performer. We can work out a work trade. Burning Man is built on the barter system, so, it is all possible.

- Your toiletries and etc -
Contact lenses, glasses, sun screen, safe-sex supplies, hand sanitizers, travel packet of toilet seat covers (if you are like me), soap (recommend Dr. Bronners), sponge (to bathe), lotion, tooth brush, tooth paste, floss, handy/baby wipes.

- Goggles - to protect eyes from dust.

- Dust mask - the dust can kick up on the playa so be prepared in case it blows

- A bicycle
Helps to get around, but not necessary. You can bum or barter from others in the camp. But if you have a bike lying in your garage you have not used in the city for years, but it still works - it can come in handy.

Just like camping, but more fun!
The class ends just before the Burn.

I have a few other Witchy related things planned for Burning Man like:

1) Witch Hat for a Day --- get a witch hat, do a simple ritual, make some magic and be a Witch for a day!
2) World Largest Earth Healing Circle - to be posted in the who, what, when, guide --- simply stop what you are doing, remind someone about the healing circle, and say a prayer that will be included in the guide. We'll regenerate the earth and help the planet take care of itself ... and us! Imagine the blowback into your life from putting out so much positive, caring energy.

And now ... the flyer:

________________________
Rituals of Goddess Spirituality

An introduction to the Third Road Tradition
of Goddess Spirituality and Witchcraft

Safely, slowly and gently we travel into realms of power and self-fulfillment.

This class is a complete spiritual training unto itself and introduces seekers to the foundational rites, practices and methods of the Third Road tradition of Goddess Spirituality and Witchcraft.

Class is facilitated by Thom Fowler, an initiate of the Third Road and founder of The Third Road Sanctuary of the Goddess – a pagan congregation. Thom is a published author with a lifelong interest in the occult and a practicing Witch since the late ‘80s. In 2001 Thom was initiated into the Third Road by Francesca De Grandis, founder of the Third Road and author of Be A Goddess and Goddess Initiation.

Rituals of Goddess Spirituality is suitable for all levels of experience.

The Third Road is an ecstatic spiritual path with roots in the Anderson Feri tradition that draws from direct inspiration as well as traditional Witchcraft and Shamanic practices. The full Third Road training consists of two introductory semesters and three advanced semesters. The Third Road is an initiatory path.

In this 11 week, 12 session class we will:

•	Clear blocks to happiness, joy and service
•	Develop and deepen our relationship to The Goddess and nature
•	Learn and practice Magic
•	Acquire new tools for self-empowerment and self-discovery
•	Experience ourselves as Deity
•	Begin, or continue, the process of making the Witch
•	Learn the rites and stories of the Third Road path
•	And embrace the unique challenges of our lives

Class begins on Tuesday, June 5 and ends Tuesday, August 21st. Please also reserve Saturday, August 11 from 2 – 4:50 pm as a make-up day in case a class needs to be rescheduled. There will be no class on Tuesday, June 26th.

Located in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco, class meets Tuesdays 7:15 – 9:50 pm with one additional Saturday class to be determined. Please arrive no earlier than 7pm. Class will begin promptly at 7:15pm.

Cost is $250.00. A non-refundable deposit of $75.00 is due at registration. Some scholarship or work-trade may be available. Enrollment is limited to five seekers. A brief phone interview is required for new students. This helps both of us decide if the class is right for you. Contact Thom at 415-931-2734 or queerboy@retina.net to register.

Camp Clean Up Plan

Basic Outline

1) We will be concise with our use of materials; using recyclable and reusable items for camp structures, costumes, toys, and food; and removing all excess packaging.

2) We will avoid bringing MOOP: super small trinkets, paper, feathers, glitter, and excess packaging and glass bottles.

3) We plan to set up camp in a specific manner as outlined below under, “Camp Set Up Plan”; accounting for every board, stake and scrap.

4) We will recycle all matter that qualifies – including aluminum cans if we bring them.

5) All members will be outfitted with standardized utensil set, which includes cup, plate, fork and spoon – there will be no paper plate or plastic utensil type materials in our trash as they are wasteful!

6) We designate Deborah Gilbert – aka Mademoiselle Nettoyer Le Femme (The Clean Up Woman) - as the camp LNT expert. She will ensure that our camp stays clean from our first day of arrival (8/24/06) through to our strike day (9/4/06). She will organize clean up with and from fellow BRC residents if and when it is needed. She will also assist in planning our purchases to ensure we buy reusable, and easily recyclable items. She will be there when it's time to strike camp and will make sure every trace of matter goes with us.

The Lost Colony – Playa Friendly Rules

*	We promise to Leave No Trace in and around The Lost Colony, including our waste and that of those who visit us - invited or otherwise.

*	We will make time for regular cleanup, cleaning as we go, picking up random moop we see along our paths. On our first day all Lost Colony residents will be advised to check around camp daily for loose MOOP.

*	We will keep our recyclable, burnable and non-burnable items separated for easier disposal.

*	We won't light fires on bare ground, leaving scars. If we burn, we'll use a public burn barrel or burn platform and follow the safety guidelines for fires and burn scar prevention. We'll sweep up and haul out the ashes.

*	We won't dig holes more than 6 inches in diameter or trenches, scarring the Playa.

*	We will keep all items tied or weighted down, and leave papers at home.

*	We will leave extra space in every vehicle (8 cubic feet) on the way to the desert, so that every member can haul away extra trash.

*	We will take all trash in sealed containers to a landfill on the way home – locations listed below.

*	We won't put any trash into the port-o-potties or leave any trash near the potties – only toilet paper.

*	We will bring the following items for our Camp's Clean-up Day (Sunday)
*	Shovel
*	Whiskbroom
*	5-gallon bucket and mesh bag for wet kitchen scraps.
*	Separate containers for recyclable, burnable and non-burnable items.
*	Lots of rope and string
*	Lots of trash bags
*	Work gloves
*	Long-handled sledgehammer for compacting in 5-gallon buckets and driving stakes.
*	Vise grips for removing stakes and rebar. Magnets for picking up small pieces of metal
*	Directions and hours of landfills.

*	We are taking the packaging off everything before we leave home. We'll utilize reusable containers to transport items to the playa.

*	We will not over pack, costumes, food or toys.

*	We will keep our stuff in camp. Not leave stuff lying around with the intention of cleaning up later.

*	No one in our camp smokes, but if friends of ours do they will dispose of their butts appropriately.

*	We pledge to do our absolute best to be waste-free on the playa and when we return home.

Reno Garbage Dump Locations

FERNLEY SANITATION
In Fernley, (everyone leaving Burning Man goes near or through Fernley) Fernley sanitation will be open through the Labor Day weekend. The office phone there is 775-575-4964, however the office (but not dump) is closed on weekends. Their rate is $3.85 per cubic yard. To reach Fernley Sanitation from Eastbound I-80, take the first (most westerly) Fernley exit and proceed right (south) to "downtown" Fernley. Turn right (at stop light) onto Highway 95 (towards Silver Springs). Proceed a couple of miles and cross the canal. Turn left onto the dirt road at building with "Public Refuse Disposal" on its face. This building is reportedly between the High School and Fernley Redi-mix.

LOCKWOOD LANDFILL
Run by Reno Disposal (100 Vassar St., Reno, 775-329-8822), will be open for business over Labor Day weekend. They operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends, and from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays (even including Labor Day). To get there, head west on I-80, and get off at Exit 23. RENO TRANSFER STATION in Reno (also run by Reno Disposal, 775-329-8822) will be open through the entire Labor Day weekend. Their hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. holidays and weekends. They confirmed they will operate on Labor Day. They are located at 1492 East Commercial Row, Reno. They charge $3.65 per cubic yard (27 cubic feet).
The best way to get there from I-80 West (e.g., returning to California) is to take Exit 23 (Mustang) and go straight for about two miles until you reach the transfer station.
There may also be other opportunities to dispose of trash as you leave the Black Rock Community. There are not enough dumpsters between Black Rock City and your house to contain all the trash from all the participants, so dump only what you must (i.e., stinky garbage) until you're further away.
