Greetings elves, my name is Sobey and i live in the Elphinstone region of the Sunshine Coast BC. For the past 2 years i have been with a camp at Burning Man called the Cosmic Elves. Each year i have sought out other elves who may wish to unite an elvish presence at Black Rock City and have gathered interest. I would like to take interest this year and place it into some form of co-creative expression in relation to Hope for the Future (the theme of this years burning man).
If there are any hopeful elves for the future, going to Burning Man who have something they could contribute towards something of this nature please get in touch.

Re: Elves at Burning Man
Mon, May 22, 2006 - 7:58 AMBurning man , isn't that a gathering of drugged out retards and yuppies who spend the week polluting and trashing the beautiful desert ? What would Elves have to do with such destruction of nature? I say you are a fool human trash. -

Re: Elves at Burning Man
Sat, July 29, 2006 - 6:58 PMBoth the twisted and cosmic elves would have nothing to do with saving the humans around them and just trying to build a way to send this rock to the next realm

Re: Elves at Burning Man
Sun, July 30, 2006 - 8:27 AM..We and our goats had a household at the big Old Red House on the E. end of Klamath Falls as you'd drive by to the desert.....thus I'd note many innovators--mostly with too much money and not enough experience. Elves who would join should charge themselves with healing the misadventurers...while, yes, shaming the carnage. In Eugene, I did this at Field Trips...we called it not Eugene Euphoria...but Euphonia. BMan is just this year's model.... -

Healing the situation? Re: Elves at Burning Man
Mon, July 31, 2006 - 11:58 PMOK Philip, how do you sugest we heal the situation?
I would like suggestions toward a better world please!
I can think of one for starters so see if this one is close to your vibes;
I would that people stop assuming a persons spirit path when they see the color of their skin,
their job description, or the title they have...
I think the ending of such automatic assumptions would lead to more constructive paths of thinking.
Peace,

Re: Healing the situation? Re: Elves at Burning Man
Wed, August 2, 2006 - 8:59 PMi agree Cat--stereotypes suck!! but that title there did say alot-lol
"burning man"
i think we begin with the children around us--encourage them to be individual and discourage them from "wanting to be like everyone else"
i think that when we can do this we will teach them to stand on their own two feet -stand their ground
and not care about how their choices make them "look"
i believe then we will be closer to peace --it would eventually have to be accepted -this individuality
that would take care of alot of the prejudices that we see
we are beginning to see alot more of it here where i live
i do my best to teach my kids this way and just hope so much that they can and will influence other's
and learn to accept people for who they are
and that material things can be smashed with a hammer -while noone can destroy my spirit -

End Rape Re: Healing the situation? Re: Elves at Burning Man
Sat, August 5, 2006 - 10:18 PMIt would be better to stop rape everywhere... Sigh, more work then most folk can do to accomplish that.
Peace,

Re: Elves at Burning Man
Sun, March 2, 2008 - 6:53 PMBurning man is something an elf must see to comprehend... and even then it is unfathomable... like the lives of men it is an agonizing ecstatic explosion of birth and death... it is beautifully wretched, violently peaceful, and disgustingly inspiring... it is a reflection of the heart of the observer...
The ancient question of the elves must be asked once again...
Do we retreat from the world of man, leaving them to perish in their folly?
Or do we walk among them, as guides and teachers, hoping to turn them from the path of destruction?
It is a question we must each answer for ourselves...
I have walked the wasteland that is Black Rock city, I have seen its glory, and I have witnessed it's horror. But one thing I know without a doubt... The magical energies raised by this ritual are powerful beyond mortal understanding... There are beings present who harness that power, some for light, some for darkness... and the most effective way to tip the scales is to be there yourself...
If spirit calls me to return to Black Rock desert this year, I will go... and i will support the vision of the Cosmic Elves... these are elves of the truest heart... Their very presence is a medicine to world weary souls...
blessings Sobey, may your magic seeds take root in the hearts of man

Re: Elves at Burning Man
Thu, March 13, 2008 - 1:17 AMThank you Myrth for your revival of this long dead thread.
I may not have ever been to burning man personally, but I have gone to the rainbow gathering. They are similar but very different. I have recently been going through much introspection of my path and my world I have come to realize that the aspects of those cultures that I first shunned because of my fear was actually the part in which the true energy was being raised.
We should be constantly asking ourselves the ancient question of our ancestors who chose wrongly in my belief. We must walk among the world of men, as guides and teachers and healers, hoping to turn them from their path of destruction but as well to bring all branches of reality back together again in a peaceful and enlightening process to all parties involved.
If the spirit calls for you to travel then travel you must. One day the spirit of the gathering will invite me back again and I might be able to wake from this Azure Nightmare I have caught myself in.
Blessings to All my Kith and Kin,
Christopher -

Re: Elves at Burning Man
Tue, June 3, 2008 - 4:43 PMSigh, I would be willing to go there if I had transportation... better to go and keep the littleist of them safe then to stay away and have the children come to harm that might be avoided with just the inclusion of one stray elf.
Yeah ok so I want the little ones safe, it is just the mother instinct coming out that is all.
Must get working car soon.

Re: Elves at Burning Man
Mon, June 9, 2008 - 7:31 AMI for one would love to go. I have been feeling a call since 1996 and I think that this is a great place forum for us to be in, and allows us an opportunity to raise the vibration at bit an build connections.
I would not be here if I did not want to help little brother. I will get there some day, gods willing.
I think we would make great rangers...:)
