We are pleased to present the first annual WATER WOMAN on the long weekend of August 1st – 4th , 2008. This four day gathering on the south coast of British Columbia has set its intention to facilitate the celebration of: Water as Life, Unity Consciousness, and the Divine Feminine.

Water Woman welcomes all men, women, and children to join in this conscious gathering. Tuva Camp 2008

Dear Friends

Thank you for your interest to our music.

Last summer we held a throat singing camp in Tuva.

We had 14 students from around the world - 8 of them were from the US, 2 from Australia
2 from Denmark, 1 from France, 1 from England.
After arriving in Tuva, the students spent 1 week in Kyzyl, the capital city.
They were able to see many tourist attractions, see a Tuvan shaman,
and attend the Naadym - National Harvest Celebration.

The students then went on to spend 1 week in the deep taiga, with members of the Tuvan throat singing group Chirgilchin,
learning various styles of throat singing, traditional Tuvan instruments, as well as the Tuvan language.

This summer, we are trying to get 2 groups to go to Tuva again, in either June or July.

2nd Annual Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up on a smaller homegrown headie festival. I don’t know if any of you heard of the Joshua Tree Music Festival in Cali…but the same fella has put together another festival- Check out their myspace page. At any rate, I’m pretty stoked to be going for the 1st time.

2nd Annual Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival
October 20 & 21, 2007

The 2nd annual Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival is happening October 20 and 21 at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground, in the shadows of the infamous National Park. This rootsicana newgrassy folkadelic experience is for music loving souls of all ages. The music is continuous, alternating on two stages in one bowl, creating an intimate festival experience. Temperatures in the magical Mojave desert in October are ideal!

The festival lineup includes The Avett Brothers, Hot Buttered Rum, Uncle Earl, The Greencards, Dan Bern, South Austin Jug Band, Jake Shimabukuro, Martha Scanlan, Merle Jagger & Tim Easton, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, the Everybodyfields, Bluehouse, Honky Tonk Train, and the Trespassers.

Plenty of on site camping. Children of all ages are welcome. The festival village includes Organic Foods, World Market, KidsVille, Art Installations, the Love Train, daily parades and more. The music begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, and goes til late. On Sunday, music goes from 10:30 a.m. til sunset. Dance under the stars and howl at the moon in this awe-inspiring high desert environ!

Voices of Darfur

Artists and citizens are uniting across the globe to raise awareness of the critical needs of the people of Darfur, Sudan by using a free and renewable resource --their voices.

The first event will be taking place in Burlington, Vermont on September 1st starting with a parade and ending with speeches and live performances by some amazing artists.

Voices of Darfur is requesting that everyone meet in front of Uncommon Grounds, 42 Church St., at 9 am. Bring your Darfur signs. We will march down from Church St. to College Street Park.

Once at the park there will be a few short speeches by Lisa Martin and a spokesperson for Voices of Darfur about the situation in Darfur and what we need to know and do about it.

Afterwards a number of artists have tentatively agreed to lend their Voices for Darfur. At this time we are locking down the line up and will post it online ASAP.

We are confident that everyone will be impressed by the message of the urgency and the plight of our fellow humans sufferings and the Voices of Darfur.

Wanna Ride? Portland to San Fran Oct 7-9 for BM Decompression

Hi, I will be driving to San Fran for Decompression 10/07 & back on Monday the 9th. If you would like a ride we can either split gas (if you have a driver's license & can drive a stick shift) or you can pick up the bulk of the gas expenditure if you can't drive. Gas will probably run 50 to 60 bucks each way (I drive a compact car so it isn't outrageous) & I DO have a CD player.

She has done some amazing displays at the store, and has a wonderful portfolio of drawings, collages, and physical art to share with all of you this special Tuesday night.

A Spring-time Full M()()N gathering in celebration of Eugene's presently actived connection to an abundance of Love and Light. In other words, a gathering to celebrate all the work that Eugene's conscious underground electronic tribes have put into creating a positive, viben underground scene.

-Eugene's new mobile 20,000 watt Turbo Sound System (The Vortex) will have it's debut! We are really stolked we have a nice venue big enouph to set up the whole sound system!

-Island Time (Mate') Will be debuting the new powerful, and extreme 1.3 Watt Green Lazer/ accessories with a light show throughout the night!

-3 different projections by Tom and James throughout the venue!

-The new advanced Intellegent lighting system will be romote controlled throughout the night by Alex!

There will be many more artists contributing that will be posted later.

Greetings all!
Well now that the sun is finally showing itself, we can all come out of our winter self-evaluating shells and start turning our energies outward....

Starting in May, Music Millennium along with Cates&dpL Music are proud to present "Community" at Pala Lounge (www.palalounge.com) in PDX on tuesday nights!

This will be an absolutely free event focusing on the music and art that is influencing our lives and our world in more ways than any kind of verbal politics ever could. Providing a different style and theme to every week and showcasing the independant dance music that is evolving our society to a new plane.
There is no reason why this music should be kept on the low or be in any way unavailable to the people of our city. We will be playing as much newly released material as possible, as well as gearing our events toward what is being released each week. Playlists will be available from our resident and guest djs.

We will also be having local artists showing and selling their art each week with NO hands in their pocket... Which means 100% of the art sales go to the artist(s) who created the piece(s). We all have enough energy thiefs in our lives who are trying to leach our creativity from us (government, dayjob, unsupportive community) and that's NOT what we're about! If we can all support eachother, then we will all succeed!

We just got confirmation that Tuesday May 2nd will be the kickoff event!

We at Music Millennium are in the process of organizing a FREE WEEKLY night of musical tastes and textures for everyone to enjoy... Representing all forms of independant soul, hiphop, and electronic dance music by featuring our local music families. Playing what is at the front of the scene as well as what is deeply embedded in their hearts from years past...

We will be having record release events for both local and international artists where we can hear their newest creations on a proper system in a proper, high energy environment....

YOU are encouraged to participate!

We will be setting up rotating weekly art displays, as well as live visuals and availability of new releases on the day they come out! We are also working with our venue to include local vending of art/fashion as well as music/art production tools/workshops to help spread creativity throughout our community.

This is a big project, so anyone who is able and willing to help we welcome you with open arms. If you are an artist or musician, we strongly encourage you to work with us to help solidify our dance music community in Portland, and help shed some much needed positive light and respect on our scene...

The venue is already chosen and I promise you its a GREAT one. We are still in the planning process though so we will not be announcing it until all the logistics have been worked out (probably mid april).

Much respect to all of our community, and I look forward to working with every one of you this spring/summer season!
