Three ladies from NYC called "Au Revoir Simone" (their name is a quote from "Peewee's Big Adventure")... sort of a Strawberry Switchblade for the 00's... think Bananarama meets Kraftwerk (their songs remind me a lot of Blondie as well)...

Re: Au Revoir Simone
Wed, August 22, 2007 - 4:28 PMAu Revoir Simone has played in San Francisco a couple times already this year. But this Friday August 24 will be the first time they have HEADLINED the bill. Bottom Of The Hill, top of the bill.
I'm going! Who else wants to? David & Jessie? Anyone?... -

Wed, August 22, 2007 - 5:45 PMDarn...wish we could! Sadly, we must plan things far in advance to line up proper babysitting.
Tell us how the show goes, Ferrara! -

On a related-but-not-all-that-related note, do you know about the Bananarama reunion?

Wed, August 22, 2007 - 10:15 PMhey aren't the Slits coming to SF again a second time? (or did that already happen?)...
the Go-Go's are coming to the Mezzanine in SF in October I think... I saw them a couple times in the 90s and they were still good then... -

Re: Au Revoir Simone
Wed, August 22, 2007 - 10:28 PMThe Go-Gos played in Santa Rosa a while back and we even missed that, but I did hear some gossip about Belinda showing up plastered up a local hair salon and barking orders at everybody.
Not sure about the Slits. I'll see if I can find out.

Re: Au Revoir Simone
Thu, August 23, 2007 - 5:14 PMI'm reminded of something Belinda said in a promo video for one of her early 90s albums (I saw it when I was working at Tower Records back then). She was being interviewed and she was talking about her pets: dogs and horses mostly... and just before they cut from the interview to the music she said "I wanna get a pig". I always thought that would be a good line to sample in one of my audio works...
