greetings, all. i am spark*l (my playa name) ~ christine (my birth name).

i have just returned from a week-long trip to assist in my mother's move and to put her home on the market after my dad's passing before thanksgiving (please, i request no comments in this public forum). this new moderatorship is certainly a surprise for me to return to, but not an unwelcome one. i am not attached to being here, but am interested in the possibilities, so am willing to give it a go.

prometheusPAN (whom i affectionately refer to as pP) is correct in saying that we shared a very long and very interesting conversation over private tribe.mail from 1/24-2/11/09. he has, of course, colored it in his own trademark way, which is often quite different from my way of looking at things. we had agreed to share our exploration with you, to serve as an example of two willing souls trying to work things out by themselves. it was interesting in that it was quite the rollercoaster, but also proved to be a worthy exercise in active listening, practicing empathy, and the importance of keeping an open mind and an open heart in order to reach common ground. it certainly was a challenge!!! one that might be interesting to you, but might not be. we *both* welcome your feedback, and are eager to hear what you have to say.

i have many other priorities to attend to now, but am almost done preparing the materials to post said dialog in an easily digestible way. i make no promises as to when it will be posted, simply that it will be done, in a number of segments, and that i will be setting guidelines on how to comment on such dialog when it's up there. (i strongly believe that your comments should be posted in separate but parallel threads that reflect each section of the unfettered original dialog. this would help keep the dialog clean from play-by-play commentary, but effectively does add an element of complexity by necessitating links to specific points in the conversation for context.) as moderator, i have the ability to monitor and enforce such guidelines for the sake of clarity.

anyways, please know that pP and i agree on many things, but often approach things in a very different way. apparently, he is still mistaken about what i was trying to do, and has persistently claimed that i only want to "play checkers." (in reality, i simply want to play the game of life as effectively and creatively and productively as possible.) he is, however, correct in characterizing himself as self destructive, or rather *counter-productive,* using my words. it was i who pointed out to him, privately, that his words on tribe were hypocritical in light of everything he had been arguing so vehemently about in our conversation and in the tribe tribes.

but that's just my opinion. let the record stand for itself.

fyi, the two deletes above were my own posts from 11ish this morning. the first matched my post above this one, the second was a correction to that post. since there is no edit capability, i experimented with deleting a comment. now i know that there is residue giving evidence of that deletion. good to know! :)*
